I had a first batch 2080ti that had the contaminated silicon. I had waterblocked it, put liquid metal on it, repadded it. In putting it back together I repasted it with not the original paste and misplaced a couple of the tiny pads and that's what I sent back. They never asked me any questions about it, the replacement is still going strong.
I see both sides, honestly. Now if they were willing to warranty and sell pre-blocked GPUs, that'd be a different story. And with the size of the cards these days, I see that as a very real future possibility.
@@datacntrdude yeah I saw that it looks like it may fit but I can’t tell for sure. Corsair don’t have any measurements on there website unlike EK and Bitspower who also have every measurement.

how are the vram temps after the waterblock?
In a day and age where water cooling is extremely common it's REALLY stupid that it voids your warranty

@@rh8liuqy its terrible, Stock cooler is better... especially for GPU mining. I'm gonna tear it down and add new thermal pads. Hopefully that helps.
my guess is that the back plate is inferior to the stock one. Soaks up all the heat with nowhere to go.
