Step up to the REAL layer 3 mikrotik switches. Pick up a CRS504, for example. These are beast-mode.

The Mikrotik CSS326-24G-2S+RM has no fan in it and there is also no fan header inside for a fan, its just using a case used in another of their router / switch. I know due to I have that very Cloud Smart Switch along with their CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS (Cloud Core Router) and CRS326-24S+2Q+RM (Cloud Router Switch) Also nobody uses the Cloud Router Switch in Router Mode due to its throughput is soooooo slow.

Just a side note, If your running something like Observium, or some other SNMP monitor, SwOS is nice, but you get a lot more details out of RouterOS if you can run it in SNMP, lot more of the hardware is reported in RouterOS vs SwOS in SNMP. One reason why I changed my switches to RouterOS, network runs the same, just get more stats on Observium.

I have a DL380 G8 with the dreaded "iLO Self-Test reports a problem with: Embedded Flash/SD-CARD" error. Couldn't get it to update the iLO firmware booting up on the 8.1 SPP. Ended up loading linux and running the update from the OS to firmware release 2.78. Reformatted the embedded flash as outlined in the HPE bulletin. Powered off, did it again. Still no joy. Tried updating to 2.82 iLO 4 firmware. Still have the flash card error, but now iLO functionality has become flakey. Screens load slow or not at all, stand-alone iLO console will get video but no keyboard input. Can I back-level iLO firmware?

I very much like my MikroTiks. In my workplace I use most of the types of devices they offer: LTE antennas for remote office, 60GHz direct antennas for connecting a building where I can't get fiber to, desktop APs, wall mounted APs, multiple rack 48-port switches, SFP+ switches for server backbone+NAS+uplink to slower switches. When you get more familiar with RouterOS they are quite nice to configure. What I don't like: updates can be hit or miss. Usually everything is fine... until it isn't and you use the rest of your maintenance window to roll back to previous version of firmware. Manufacturing quality - usually ok, but I did find some packing residue floating inside of 2 switches form the same delivery, so now I just always open all of them to do a visual inspection before installing them. It takes less time than having to climb, for the second time, to the production floor rack cabinet that is hanging 3 meters above your head, because there was some crap in the ports. Overall, price to performance and possibilities offered is very hard to beat.

I upgraded my CPU's and you inadvertently showed me how to do it in your videos (Installing the iso through the java applet. I couldn't get anything else to work. USB, virtual drives etc.) Thanks again!

I bought an HP ML310e Gen8 V2, downloaded the bios, extracted... but it didn't extract anything. :/ I also bought an HP ML350e Gen8 which was a paperweight as the NAND failed and the RAID and iLO don't work. I also tried to download the FIRMWARE update, but those bave been DELETED from the HP site. I can't win.
