    I work with Sony RIV and with Fuji medium format, how does this software handles the quality of your content and the format of my raw files? Most add on content suppliers can't match the quality of High Res files, so the 8k or larger files . thanks,

    I'm following along the video but I see that Brightness Congrast and Gamma are greyed out when I get to the 13:34 mark of the video.

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  2 года назад +1

      John was using a beta version of the software here. In the shipping version, Brightness, Contrast, Gamma only light up when you change from Composite Mode from Direct (Classic) to Alpha+Apply Mode.

    Awesome tutorial, thank you - however, when I click on the Particle Illusion filter, I just don't have a Glow on option - not even a Glow segment on the right. How is this possible?

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  2 года назад +1

      This video was recorded in a beta version of the software. The Glow option was removed in the final version. If you want to use glow you can change from Composite Mode from Direct (Classic) to Alpha+Apply Mode and apply the glow separately. I'll add this to our tutorial list.

    How do you get the particle effects to go behind the subject like in the tutorial? I must have missed something.

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  2 года назад +1

      That was done using masking. You can see John added a mask and was painting in the particles. If you want to get a more complex mask but faster, you can use the EZ Mask found here : ruclips.net/video/CPMLJTogelE/видео.html Any layer can have multiple masks applied to them, to give you control on where the effects are visible.

    what's the max file size and/or pixel dimensions that Optics can handle? I tested the trial and it looks like I'm not able to open some files (I'm guessing because they're too large?). In some cases, smaller files open, but then I can only render a couple layers instead of all of the layers at once (I'm guessing because the initial file size is too large and the software doesn't have the capacity to process it?). I currently have 64GB RAM and 8-20TB of scratch space. thanks for the feedback!

      Hi Philip, this limitation is probably down to your graphics card. Optics is GPU accelerated so your graphics card can become the bottleneck here. Can you post your problem and system specs on the Optics forum, and you'll be more likely to find a definitive answer there. forum.borisfx.com/

    When i click Launch PI from Optics the image doe not load.

      Go to the top of the viewer and click on the little gray button between the Viewer zoom and Render view. Change that to Composite over Source frame and you will see your image.
