The first time I was aware of what I now know is tms, was when I developed a sudden onset of severe neuropathy, parasthesia. Excruciating. “Slept” with feet in ice buckets.
Went for tests, feared MS, nothing found and treated like I was just an anxious wreck
I ended my relationship and 2 days later it was gone!!!
I was suppressing my needs and people pleasing in order to not feel alone perhaps
When neurology ring for follow up, I told them it was gone since I ended toxic relationship, they still said come in 🤣
If only I remembered this with another manifestation with very obvious “triggers” (same trigger as previous, neglecting my own needs) before I entered the medical system and messed up by so many drugs and down the rabbit hole of forums feeding more fear

Dan I agree fear is the biggest element... It wasn't until slowly lowering my fear that I made any progress with my main symptom... When it comes back hard it can still be challenging .. no longer fear of I'm injured but more fear of I just don't want to feel this...
But anyway, I've had what feels like and endless parade of symtpoms imperatives. I've had so many symptoms come and go by now paying them much mind... But I always have SOMETHING... So I feel like I'm missing something to end the charade

The way we respond to the pain when it does come back is the most important thing we can do to teach the brain it's no big deal. Yes, it hurts. Bad. But it's not dangerous. It's important to reassure ourselves that we are okay.

Have been dealing with stress, tension in different parts of my body for years - have noticed it always comes back after a stressful incident, have been back and forth to doctors, multiple test done due to health anxiety, i've had a feeling deep inside me its all related to stress (stress that I know now I have caused my self) - but as you mention the FEAR is strong and it takes over so easily, makes my lizard brain want to be in control. I realize been doing self care practices / activities for the wrong reasons. But yah, fear - pent up anger - guilt - emotions come out in the body one way or another.
When one listens to the discussion of TMS, especially your videos - it sounds so simple but at least for me my mind wants to complicate things - the what if comes up and yah fear - 2nd fear - panic.
Thank you for your continued upload sir.

“Lose the Fear” is the antithesis of repressing something. The repressed emotions are being protected by the fear. The fear is a distraction, and by losing the fear you are choosing not to ignore the repressed emotions.

      Michael Dodaro hey Michael,
I can wholeheartedly say that I have had manifestations of TMS in the past that I was able to recognize as TMS and overcome. I suffered from severe and debilitating wrist pain for 8 months and when I came across Sarno’s teachings, I was able to read The Mindbody Prescription and my wrist pain went away in weeks. I went years without any problems, but recently I have been dealing with some pretty severe neck and back pain. While I recognize this is TMS in a different form, it is sadly not so easy as just being “cured”. I’ve got to not just logically understand this to be TMS, I’ve got to get the underlying understanding achieve in my subconscious. I am currently re-integrating the knowledge of TMS and attempting to break free of this new form of TMS.

@@riffdex Honestly bro 100% for real talk right now if you dont fear your symptoms or obsess them, they will 100% go away, but more work is required by fear holds back progression from the cure.

what's way worse is I've social anxiety disorder and it became so severe. My dad won't allow me to go to a psychiatrist, im tired of him saying that its just nothing. I'm experiencing fast heartbeats every day whenever I saw a person passing in my house. I don't have any courage talking at strangers anymore. I'm a person who mumbles and stutters a lot. I did those without being nervous, imagine if I'm talking to strangers, the more I'll stutter, shaking of hands and mumble = embarrassment. I want to be positive, but when i palpitate and shake a lot and can barely breathe because of severe palpitations, im beyond embarassed at my neighbors and my positivity is gone. What if my neighbors send concolences to me in groups. The more i shake. That's my involuntary reaction, idk y. What exercises do i work to remove these symptoms. 4-7-8 breathing barely works. Idk any hand exercises for shaky hands. Appreciate ur work brother
