    4 years after recording this it is very useful in February 2024. Your archive is very helpful as I often look at your archive to watch the one that speaks most to where I am right now/today. I listen about once a day and limit it to no more than 30 minutes. As you say it is important to get on with your day and not spend hours and hours online focusing on trying to fix yourself and continually having it rolling it around in your brain. Any activity or hobby that helps me focus my mind on other things (and not think about the pain) generally results in pain reduction or even moments of disappearance of pain. Wish everyone best success. It's simple but it ain't easy.

    Hello Dan! I've been following you for some time now! I remember a few videos ago you asked if you repeat yourself too much and yes you do but I think that's vital for the understanding of this whole process of explaining TMS. I also have TMS. But I just can't get over the fact that I did this to myself. I just can't let go of the fact that I am at least for some part responsible for my pain. A video on letting go of this type of stuff would be helpful. Keep up the good work!

      I'll definitely address this issue because it is very common. Thanks for the great topic suggestion.
      And for the record, you did NOT do this to yourself. your subconscious did and you do NOT control that. As a matter of fact, most of the subconscious programs are not even yours. They were given to you as you were being brought up.

    Hey Dan, you’ve really been helping me through an extremely hard time more than you know. You’re great at talking about tms and helping me solidify the concepts in my mind.
    I’m 23 now, been in pain two years, but I do now believe 100% that TMS is what I am suffering from, and that I am going to recover. I have been running from my emotions for so long that I don’t even know what’s lurking deep inside. TMS has been doing it’s job. But I’m determined to turn my attention inwards, and lose the fear of pain.
    Thanks for the words of wisdom and for being a beacon of hope for me.

    I also find the idea of emotional suppression/repression hard to put together with the fact I have tms as I'm not someone who hides from my feelings at all - in fact i voice most of them as well as thinking and feeling them internally. I do fit the bill in other ways though - of being hard on myself, experiencing sadness and trauma, and being overly conscientious. I have definitely seen a TMS video before where a woman who had had RSI for 13 years said she did the emotional work suggested, found very little as a result, but still followed the Sarno steps being really sure it was TMS and not physical, going back to things that she'd stopped doing etc, and made a full recovery! So i'm going to keep that in mind and keep trying to learn and move beyond this problem.
    Thanks again for your videos, it's great to have all the extra help and support in recovering as possible. Very helpful of you. Wishing you all the best!

      Thank you. What I've learned is that not everybody has repressed emotions as the root cause. A hyper-vigilant nervous system and lots of fear/danger signals can also turn on symptoms.

    Remember folks, from the first time Dan heard about Sarno until he was healed, several years lapsed. That does not mean this will be true for you, but you cannot expect to recover overnight. Some do, but it is rare. Generally, their symptoms come back somewhere as they did not do the necessary pyschological work.

      While it did take me many years to end my symptoms, it won't take you nearly that long. It took me MANY MANY years to figure out the formula or recipe. I made mistakes for years and once I got the formula right, I was able to end my pain quickly. You can too.

    Hi Dan, thank you for your videos. Just watched this one as well as a few others after not watching you for me over a year. You really be help me not feel alone. At this point my fear is fed more by 4 years of TMS implementation , resuming life despite the constant pain and minimal/ no relief ,then the medical model which I abandoned early on. It's very disheartening and discouraging. I'm so exhausted from the constant pep talks to myself that it continues the stress response I'm sure. I've also gone through phases where I stop trying anything and looking at anything to heal. In four years Ive been and done it all. Maybe you can make a video about that. I hope I'm not discouraging others. Everyone's path is different.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  2 года назад

      Nancer - it's not a matter of watching videos. It's implementing the concepts.
      Do you believe your pain is from TMS or are there doubts it may be your body.
      Take the pain test to find out: DanBuglio.com/paintest
      For Recovery, let's focus on the basics. Here are a few videos below that sum up my concepts.
      Perceived Danger Pain: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnU6K...
      Let's Simplify Recovery: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tIuc...
      Consistent Messages of Safety: ruclips.net/video/5SsKnAgAvnY/видео.html
      6 Steps to resuming activity: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRowJ...
      Focus on these basics. Repetition. Over and over. Focus on what you want. Focus on KNOWING that there's nothing to fix. Focus on the FACT that you are safe and not broken. Not physically, mentally or emotionally. Shift your attention to doing more normal things. Less fixing. More living. Smile. This is temporary and you can get well.
      Copy and paste this into a document or email and save it. These few videos can literally be enough.
      Here's where you can view my free daily videos and the full archive on RUclips: DansRUclips.com
      Now, if you can spare even $100, you can get my full video course and a months worth of weekly group coaching calls. That may be enough to get you moving in the right direction. If you love the program, you can stick around for $100 per month. Comparatively, it's by far, the best value in TMS coaching available. And... it works.
      Not sure if a group format is for you? Many have felt that way and very quickly felt like they found a super loving and supportive bunch of people who get it. Their shyness and anxiety about speaking in a group format was replaced by the support of others. We are all different, yet the same. There's no reason to try and recover alone.
      Details and sign up: PainFreeYou.com/join
      Whether you join the group or not, you CAN get better. I'm here to help whether you pay me or not.

    Hi Dan not sure if you will read this as this is an old video that I stumbled upon. Anyways in case you do, I have a question about your comment re migraines being TMS. Whilst I believe that they can be, what I really struggle with is the fact that so many women myself included have migraines triggered by their monthly cycle or lead ip to menopause. Mine became daily after the menopause transition and a very stressful life event that occurred at the same time . I so want to believe TMS is solely responsible for my migraines so I can heal but it's hard when I know there's another biological / hormonal component. Are you able to shed clarity on this for me?

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Год назад +1

      If hormones and menopause cause migraines, why doesn't everyone have them? I believe that a hyper sensitive brain and nervous system can interpret the NORMAL hormonal changes as a threat and turn on symptoms. Then we begin to fear the hormonal changes which perpetuates the cycle of perceived danger. The fear of the migraines themselves can be enough to keep them going and make them daily. The hormones are coincidental, not the cause in my opinion.

      @PainFreeYou  4 года назад +1

      Linda - there's more to how pain works that "emoting it away." The information below will tell you more about how pain can start and become chronic. Even pain from a true injury can stick around. Fear, focus and anxiety about the injury can teach the nervous system to keep the pain going long after the injury has healed. Check out the links below to get started.
      Go to PainFreeYou.com and watch the video.
      Next step is to determine if TMS is what's going on in your world. There are three self assessments I like to refer people to. Why three? Because they are simple, only take a few moments and you get three "opinions" and will have a better idea than if you just did one.
      So, PainFreeYou.com - then enter your email and download the self assessment and go through it carefully. See if you can determine that TMS/Stress Illness is what is going on for you.
      PPDAssociation.org/symptoms - look through the list of symptoms. Then answer the 30 questions. The more you can say "yes" to, there you know you have TMS or what they are calling a psychophysiologic pain disorder. You don't need all of them to have TMS.
      Lastly, I have a "pain test" on my website:
      DanBuglio.com/paintest
      Any score over 29 out of 50 means TMS and you can end your symptoms.

    • @PainFreeYou

      Hernias are real things that sometimes require medical intervention. However, sometimes the pain persists even after the doctors have fixed the hernia. THAT can be TMS, but do not ignore a hernia. Seek medical attention as there can be complications if severe and not handled.

      I have a sliding hiatus hernia, it does not require surgery but it is easily triggered by over eating, spicy food or even lifting something a little heavy or bending over to pick something up. Every time i get a flare up my heart rate increases to 130 bpm it automatically brings me to a panic attack and anxiety. The stomach puts pressure on the vegas nerve. There are nights i only get 2 hours of sleep before going to work. I have been dealing with this for two years and now i have sensitive nerves. I can't lay flat on my back to sleep because i wake up with my nerves just firing all over my body and i get a pulsating nerve in the middle of my back, i have to sleep in my recliner and i have to wear computer glasses all the time to get rid of the pressure in my forehead. I've tried forcing myself to relax but all i feel is the heart palpitations, but eventually i calm down and rest better. Iam learning to do everything in a calming way and see if that would help my sensitive nerves.

      So, why are so many people ending years or decades of migraines with a mindbody / TMS approach? And, if it's "proven" that there is a biological component, what's the solution? To feel helpless requiring medications and medical treatments? What if the brain chemistry being blamed for the pain is the RESULT of TMS/Mindbody syndrome? Hello, I hope in the meantime you have found the right path for you. I am here just to report what I heard at the Migraine World Summit. There was a famous Spanish neurologist (check her website "Mi dolor de cabeza") who explained how migraine is 90% environmental factors and only 10% genetics. From that moment I realized I could change my life because I could change the environment around me: from 30/30 days migraine + tension-type headache I now have one two-hour attack per month and it is not even an "attack". It is my body giving me a message. It wasn't easy. It was easier to think I could do nothing. Instead I had to do THE work.
      I hope you have found or will find a path of hope, wholeness and awareness ❤️ Sending you love and light 🙏
      Thank you Dan for doing what you do 😊
