    THANK YOU. Your video saved me a lot of time and money. I have a 2002 Cummins and mine is set up exactly as you described right down to the heat shrink. My truck had power to the fuse and fuse was not blown, but terminal was completely corroded and there wasn't any power to the relay.
    I wired up a new fuse holder and truck fired right up.

    As David said this was a dealer TSB, and someone at Mitchell missed it. My truck has the very same thing. I cannot say why this one did not, but when my in tank pump failed, my truck continued to run, I saw a significant drop in fuel economy but it ran and drove. It's very detrimental on these vp44 pumps to run them that way.

    I think I have a similar issue, I have a check engine light on. Got my car code reader out, got the P0230 code for transfer pump circuit out of range. I’m not sure what pump that is when I look it up.

      The transfer pump is either mounted to the rear of the fuel filter housing or it’s in the tank, not sure if this one was factory or not, I’ve seen manufacturers do pretty sloppy work.

    It's what the dealer did when the lift pump failed under warranty .they replaced it with the end tank fuel pump

    In tank pump wad a dealer upgrade for the unreliable pump on the motor but unfortunately some people did a half ass job installing them

    You are one of the very few that talk like you have been down the street more than a couple of times .
    I have (5 ) 2001 dodge 5.9 cummins 3/4 ton trucks One of them is just shy of a million miles. I have had your problem and so many more. I have one with about 600 thousand. I changed the TPS and then the Throddle cable and now I have a code that says switch A circuit low.Because I am having a starting problem. What in the world could that mean ?
    Thanks, GD

      I’ve seen and heard of those things having tps problems, sounds like yours might have a bad connection at the plug of have a terminal pulled back. I don’t trust new parts anymore either. I’ve also seen noise on the tps signal line causing erratic shifting and shuttering in the trans, they make an inline noise filter specifically for that problem.

      @@1122Genesis I would be looking at the wiring first, check the sensor ground, make sure connector is good, had a lot of brand new bad sensors, other than that could be pcm.

      @@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387it's actually the ECM on the engine that controls the throttle tps.

    my truck has the same thing and now im going to the lift pump on the side of the motor not the tank

    • @bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387
      @bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387  Год назад

      If it had the one in the tank then it’ll have to be removed first, you wouldn’t be able to pull fuel through a dead pump, that means you’ll have to change the sump in the tank.
