If you end up getting hard starts or seems like the truck cranks longer , you need to take the wire you ran inside and run it to your factory fuel pump hot Wire . The vps don’t like pressure when starting the factory pump dosnt come on untill the engine is running. Just something me and several others have had to do to make our trucks start better
Mine is opposite for some reason. It cranked longer than normal with the factory wired pump but with the Fass ran inside it fires right up. Not sure what the deal is there but if it works it works I guess
@@FASSFuelSystems of course!! Thank your for making a high quality, user friendly system with awesome installation instructions! It’s been a few months now and I’ve seen a clear increase of fuel efficiency and the truck has been running amazing!

Ozzy, with the stock fuel filter removed, the electrical connector for the water in fuel. Did you leave this unplugged? Did it give you check engine light or any other lights on dash? thanks
I just left it there and haven’t had any issues except when I drive the truck in the rain the water in fuel light comes on but turns off once it drys out and it doesn’t affect anything. I will be taping up the connection here soon to help prevent that.
I’ve had my 98.5 Cummins for 12 years and never pay attention to the wait to start unless it’s below freezing. I just hop in and crank it over immediately and it fires right up.
Hey great video! What about the rest of the factory fuel filter and bracket delete!?!? I have everything done now I’m staring at this ugly filter and bracket. What did you do about the two sensors that are on the fuel filter housing?
@@pbandjwrx Thank you. I just took the bolts holding it in place out and I just pulled it off and taped up the sensor plugs. If you want to delete the factory lift pump then you will need the block off plate in my description.
@@imthe_koolaidman6839 yes it was. My wait to start light had about 10sec wait before it came on and as soon as I reinstalled the ecm the light came on immediately when I turned the key
Can you make a short for me showing the purpose block off plate and is it necessary and how the line goes to the vp44 and if the kit includes that… dads told me you have to keep the old fuel bowl and that it’s not possible to attach directly to the vp44 without getting a kit somewhere else .. I think the tech was mistaken
@@Doingitwithcharlie the fass kit comes with a great step by step guide and it comes with everything that is needed. I didn’t buy any extra parts. As far as the block off plate I wasn’t sure if it was needed but I wanted to take the stock fuel pump bracket off so either way the plate looks better so I just sent it

If u want ur vp44 to last a long time the fass helps. Add 2stroke oil to ur fuel ever time you fill up will help to. Just one of those small bottles
I didn’t know that! Thank you!
I second that I put a half quart into each tank
Did all that, and they still failed a few times. The only thing to do is convert to the P7100 pump. Anything else is a waste of time.
@@kyles234 p7100 is nice and last longer but the vp44 is better to drive everyday
