@@michelvanderlinden8363 I think it's kinda sweet. Like the dragonborn's proposal is, "You've done everything you can to protect me... now it in turn, I will do the same for you."
I would like to point out that Jordis the shieldmaiden has several things going for her that the other houscarls lack. Her name is taken from the norse word "hjordis" meaning sword, meaning her name is lowkey cool af, and shieldmaiden is a really nice title for the dragonborn's wife. She expresses that she wanted to go out adventuring and see the world besides solitude and find a husband, so unlike the other characters just kinda going "oh is that an amulet of mara? sure why not" she actively wants a husband. She comes with the house in solitude which is objectively one of the better house options in the game, even if I do like goldenhills more.
Agreed on your points! To further expand on her name and as you said, "Hjördís" is the Old Norse name hers was based on, but it is also a compound word. "Hjör-" as you mentioned, means 'sword' but "Dís" means either 'maiden' or 'goddess'. So her name, directly translated from Old Norse would be "Swordmaiden", which makes reading out her full name and title translated kind of funny; Swordmaiden the Shieldmaiden.
You can get Murie without doing the Dark Brotherhood by making sure she becomes the new owner of the Alchemy shop. Yes, you have to "Accidentally" unalive her mentor to do so.
I just keep things basic and marry Lydia most of the time. She's a solid fighter, has great looks and a pleasant voice, and she opens up a small general store that produces 100 gold per day once you marry her. Whether adventuring together in full Daedric armor, or chilling at the Tundra Homestead selling trinkets, odds and ends, and that sort of thing, she makes for an awesome spouse.

Breylyna was my first and still favorite female romance. She's just adorable, with her continuous flubbung of her spells (while insisting to tolfdir she knows exactly what she's doing), and her trying to distance herself from her Telvanni family.
One of the best followers for sure. The College questline is rushed, but it's my favoruite faction for how at home I felt with the characters there. Brelyna and I have shared trauma from stumbling into more falmer dungeons than I can count 😂
Serena is the only one I want to marry but can’t. The only character that the Dragonborn actually connects to while the rest are just strangers to them.

In my first playthrough I married Njada because of the hard to get aspect. I was so disappointed when she still says mean stuff occasionally and in my house in Solitude she would sleep in the basement instead of the bedroom. Then I met Serana...so I did what anyone guy would do. I restarted and speedran the DLC to marry her only to find out you can't. I usually marry Sylgja. Even her mom is hot so you know she's going to retain her looks. Muiri is also hot; but you have to "accidently" hit her boss with an aggression spell so a guard can take her out making way for Muriri to take over the shop so you can invest in it.
Good to know that I'm not the only one who chose Aela over Lydia. What I like about Aela is her attitude towards Dragonborn - she speaks as your equal, your Shield Sister, while Lydia keeps saying "I am your sword and your shield, I will carry your burdens..." like a servant.
This is the first video I see of you, and within 16 seconds, I'm hooked. Your voice reminds me of the narrator from Discovery's "How it's Made" in the best way possible. Definitely sticking around for a while just to listen..
My 3 favorites all in the top 10 (Jenassa, Sylgja, and Muiri). Although I am partial to Muiri for her looks and the whole cool with murder aspect, I think Jenassa is the most practical wife. She is the perfect wife for a Dunmer who prefers to date stay within the superior race. She is a good follower, unique enough dialogue, and I always feel like I am giving her a real home when I marry her.
Face improvement mod packs were made for most of these wives. Maybe some personality packs would be nice. As for wives that talk down to you...that's actually pretty realistic.
Dunno about the bed chicanery that will happen at night but I won’t lie I do love Temba as a wife. Strong willed and can rage like a hurricane but damn do I feel supported by her.
I also commented this during the best companions video, but one time Mjoll was kidnapped as part of a Companions job, and the game had Aerin still be with her in whatever dungeon they were held up . So as soon as that area loaded in the bandits just killed him 💀 Update: in my current playthrough Mjoll was captured again but this time Aerin spawned at the entrance to the second part of the dungeon. I was feeling generous, so I cleared the way for him, becayse otherwise the fool would rush in to fight the bandits and get himself killed
Dang, surprised Sylgja made it into the top 5! Makes me happy to hear though since she's always been my favorite even if she can't be a follower. Temba deserves a higher placing for being a Star Trek reference alone though ngl.
Honestly Shahvee was my favorite just for the fact she is the only Saxhleel crazy enough to marry me. I feel bad for her backstory as a sneaky naugthy thief, and her devotion to earn a new and honest life is very aspiring. (Also Argonians are my favorite race in TES) Now she is favorite for how chill and kind she is, honestly i wish there was a way to convince her to become a rogue once again and turn both into a companion AND a wife. That way she would not be alone in our manor.
Saving this video for tomorrow (it is 3am when I see it while setting up ambience to sleep with). And I already wanna see a Husband version as well. But who knows, maybe I’ll finally find a lass that catches my attention, and potentially my heart, thanks to this video

Eh i don’t get the appeal, I think the only reason I could see anyone finding her attractive is how revealing the ancient Nordic armor is on women, if she wore literally any other heavy armor, and nearly any other heavy armor is better, a good 60% of the good looks would fade to ash
@moonstergamez6583 I said heavy armor, forsworn is light. I specified that because I think ancient Nordic is the only revealing armor for women and there are a fair few of those in the light armor category
You can with mods. You just need to help her mother move back into their vampire castle first, which you can't do without killing the bad guy, which is at the end of the entire Dawnguard dlc.
15:54 Fun fact, you can marry Derkeethus, as well as Scouts-Many-Marshes, giving you three Argonian options. Though Shahvee is the only female Argonian you can marry. Hope this helps. :>
Shavree! My sweet, sweet Argonian maiden. I love her so much! She was the very first girl that I married in the game when I first played. My very first Skyrim character is married to her to THIS DAY! I made it a RULE... of mine no matter what version of the game nor alt; to NEVER marry Shavree or have the home in Whiterun. Those two things are reserved for my main with her and will always be a rule of mine. Shavree will always be my most favorite woman to marry in vanilla. Shavree is the most beautiful woman in all of Vanilla Skyrim.
Think you forgot a mage wife or was she just a follower? I forgot, but there's a out of the way side quest where you have to help kill the woman's mother cause her mom is crazy and is trying to become a hagraven iirc because she thinks it's her next step in obtaining power. After killing her mom you can loot a pretty strong staff and the woman who put you on the quest becomes a follower. I just don't remember if she can be married or not
To be fair, Jorrvaskr is probably the safest place for kids considering all these battle hardened mercs are around to protect and help raise them. I mean, tell them to keep the fighting and drinking to a minimum when the kids are nearby and you're golden.
Of vanilla Skyrim, Ysolde is the only one that is kinda cute. Of the mods and addons and changes to characters, there's a lot of options but I think Vilja is my favorite.
I personally Like the Idea of Marrying the Orc at Markarth... She is good... She has the ability to turn you into Blood Kin... She owns a Store... She even has all the other things!
18:00 Hard working. Love that. She sometimes start mining the ore near our house and thats just awesome. As a dragonborn you cant worry about the house you know.
Weird... I would have put Mjoll higher. When she has been my spouse in a playthrough, Aerin somehow gets killed in his own home. Very strange. Since Argonians are not able to live in Windhelm, marrying Sharvee and living there might be poetic justice for the racist Nords there.
argonians are not a race. They are pets that have somehow scraped enough primitive knowledge to form a group and worship trees or some shit. Whats wrong with racism anyways?

One of the best followers for sure. The College questline is rushed, but it's my favoruite faction for how at home I felt with the characters there. Brelyna and I have shared trauma from stumbling into more falmer dungeons than I can count 😂
10/10 dunmer gf.
Serena is the only one I want to marry but can’t. The only character that the Dragonborn actually connects to while the rest are just strangers to them.
THAT WEREWOLF LINE WAS CRAZY
My Dragonborn will wait eternity for Serana, that is his true love.
If you're on PC use the amorous aventure mod.Once you kill Harkon and keep her with you she Will open up and you Will bring her to dibella priestesses Who Will teach her sex with you and the leader one.After. à while she is touched by dibella and you can marry her
Bro, keep doing these vids, they are awesome and funny.
And informative
Excellent video. Amazing writing! 🔥
You can marry Muiri normally if you join the Dark Brotherhood and clear her quest (kill Alain and Nilsine)
You might just be the best Skyrim channels ever
Not judging by the subs count😂
@@DmytroBogdan what’s that supposed to mean
@@JzargoTodd he's just being a bit shallow
@@odlfmariner470 what is that suppose to mean?
Good to know that I'm not the only one who chose Aela over Lydia. What I like about Aela is her attitude towards Dragonborn - she speaks as your equal, your Shield Sister, while Lydia keeps saying "I am your sword and your shield, I will carry your burdens..." like a servant.
Now I need a video on husbands lol. My dragonborn needs a husband
Farkas is my go-to husband. He remains Essential after the Companions questline (just don't use Storm Call. That will kill him).

The lack of Khajit is palpable.
If serana was an option there wouldn't even be a need for a list
Too edgy
Agreed
You omitted to mention that Jenassa look really good in forsworn ravager clothes. Thought someone should say it.
Great video I'd love it if you could put together a list for the modded wives available at some point and rank those.
Face improvement mod packs were made for most of these wives. Maybe some personality packs would be nice. As for wives that talk down to you...that's actually pretty realistic.
The Bijin mods are the best for that. You should see how it improves Ysolda and Sylgja.
@@Shadow_Sonata Pandorable's mods are good too
Good thing I'm into that
Dunno about the bed chicanery that will happen at night but I won’t lie I do love Temba as a wife. Strong willed and can rage like a hurricane but damn do I feel supported by her.
"She hates bears almost as much as Ulfric hates logic"
I'm subbing just for that line alone🤣👏
I also commented this during the best companions video, but one time Mjoll was kidnapped as part of a Companions job, and the game had Aerin still be with her in whatever dungeon they were held up . So as soon as that area loaded in the bandits just killed him 💀
Update: in my current playthrough Mjoll was captured again but this time Aerin spawned at the entrance to the second part of the dungeon.
Good job. Would love to see the husband video next 💜
The content we need
Honestly Shahvee was my favorite just for the fact she is the only Saxhleel crazy enough to marry me. I feel bad for her backstory as a sneaky naugthy thief, and her devotion to earn a new and honest life is very aspiring. (Also Argonians are my favorite race in TES)
Now she is favorite for how chill and kind she is, honestly i wish there was a way to convince her to become a rogue once again and turn both into a companion AND a wife. That way she would not be alone in our manor.
Do you get to the Cloud district very often? Oh, what am I'm saying, of course you don't.
Nazeem really needs someone to shout out a response, doesn’t he?
Been watching bro forever now, he definitely deserves more subs
Saving this video for tomorrow (it is 3am when I see it while setting up ambience to sleep with). And I already wanna see a Husband version as well. But who knows, maybe I’ll finally find a lass that catches my attention, and potentially my heart, thanks to this video
Can you do a husbands ranking?
I married Borgakh (#13) in my last playthrough. Her tender pillow-talk contrasted so wonderfully with her tough Orc exterior that this Breton necromancer just couldn't resist.
I am a bit shocked as I do love Jenessa, but the dark elf in the college of Winterhold. That is the one I normally go with
Neat vid, I hope ya do one for husbands as well.
Sylgia is the best. She is truly kind and respectful. She's so sweet and hardworking. Her dialogues make you fall for her.
I was so happy to see Shahvee so high on the list! She is my favorite and so sweet to me!
We need more vids from you please 😊
Brelyna is 100% my girl.
you are not alone
What can I say? I like the nerdy chicks. My heart was hers the moment she turned me into a cow, and started apologising.
nahhh man, Muiri should be higher. I married her a while back and its legit very chill with her. Top 5 in my opinion
Problem is you have to join the Dark Brotherhood 🤮
She’s one of the only spouse options in the whole game who has a proper romance quest.
@@Mr-tu4cj Yeah kill some outlaw that you could’ve hired a sell sword to kill and murder an innocent girl in cold blood that ends up destroying her family. A proper romance.
It’s overused but still better than Twilight. ☝️
She always thanks you for solving her… problem though. It gets annoying after a while.
@abisnail4888 yep that is the only bad thing
Ysolda over Aela is CRAZY 😱
Eh i don’t get the appeal, I think the only reason I could see anyone finding her attractive is how revealing the ancient Nordic armor is on women, if she wore literally any other heavy armor, and nearly any other heavy armor is better, a good 60% of the good looks would fade to ash
@moonstergamez6583 I said heavy armor, forsworn is light. I specified that because I think ancient Nordic is the only revealing armor for women and there are a fair few of those in the light armor category
She's old, probably smells like a farm, and has stupid facepaint
@@Voltar_99 I play with a small mod that gives both Aela and Farkas wolf armor. And, man, she looks even better now, without revealing anything.
@@user-tk8gi5cl6j alr I stand corrected, still don’t get the appeal though. She doesn’t look that beautiful to me
Aela never stays at my house; she always walks back to the Companions Hall.
Awesome video reminds me of in Shrek with the magic mirror showing that one guy all the princesses
Serana being the only s++ that's you can't marry.
You can with mods. You just need to help her mother move back into their vampire castle first, which you can't do without killing the bad guy, which is at the end of the entire Dawnguard dlc.
>Daedric used goods
Nah.
I'm super stoked that Shavee got to seven. She's my go-to girl when I'm not going for Little Miss Yandere, Muiri.
Great video! You should do a husbands one too!
Boooo. Damn Imperial sympathiser. Skyrim belongs to the Nords!
😂😂😂
Politics ahh move
I helped get a dock lizard off drugs, but I didn’t marry her 😜
@@Roboprogs Haha! I know who you are talking about! That poor woman... I always help her when I see her on alts.
I got a skyrim crush on scouts many marshes.
Please do a " ranking every husband " too I'm curious as to how that will go if I enjoyed this one so much
I like Shavee personally. She's very nice and absolutely optimistic at all times. Plus she makes pies when you get home!
I just don't remember if she can be married or not
Can you name her? I'm interested in mages
Her name is Illia and it is during the Repentance quest
She's bugged in the base game so you can't marry her iirc.
Borgak & Mjol the Lioness - S Tier
married jenassa and she died as my follower after 2-3 days 😭
bro the way you described number 26 makes them sound like the best ones.
This video was a lot more helpful than I thought it was going to be. It was also pretty funny, and well edited. Good thing I subscribed
Oh man I remember when I married Temba. The execution commenced next day after marriage
You put the priestesses of Dibella last… Did you happen to take a close look at the statues in that temple? Remind me what Dibella is the goddess of…?
You know they are wild in bed ;)
I feel like Lord Farquad when he had that "choose your princess show"
Where do you find the background videos you use in your videos or do you record them yourself in-game?
I personally Like the Idea of Marrying the Orc at Markarth... She is good... She has the ability to turn you into Blood Kin... She owns a Store... She even has all the other things!
I had forgotten how vanilla characters looked like.
Im subbing for this
Fall Damage trying to make a lot of dirty jokes while avoiding the strike hammer xD
Jenassa in first place?????? Dude, I always use her for the Boethia quest lol. Completely forgettable NPC... Wtf
Mjoll will always be #1 for us console players. Reason: she is the only 100% immortal wife
She's #1 period. Tall warrior badass, fruity accent, has some unique dialogue in dungeons and can't die. Also offing Aerin was always fun.
18:00 Hard working. Love that. She sometimes start mining the ore near our house and thats just awesome.
As a dragonborn you cant worry about the house you know.
Aela's face painting kills me
Weird... I would have put Mjoll higher. When she has been my spouse in a playthrough, Aerin somehow gets killed in his own home. Very strange.
Since Argonians are not able to live in Windhelm, marrying Sharvee and living there might be poetic justice for the racist Nords there.
It's the small things that count.
argonians are not a race. They are pets that have somehow scraped enough primitive knowledge to form a group and worship trees or some shit.
Whats wrong with racism anyways?
