everything made now is basically a throw way after 2-3 years. i have top of the line shark vertex and roborock s7max. they both do great. using roborock 90% of the time and shark once every months. nothing picks up dog hair like my bissell pet proheat 2x carpet shampooer. the double brush roll picks up hair even after vacuuming with the previous mentioned vacs. nothing can beat standard brushes for pet hair

It's interesting how literally everyone just drops pet hair on carpet but don't rub it in so we can truly see how effect each vacuum would work in real life cleaning situations but I do like that you guys did it for the sand so you have made me very interested in buying the dyson 😁

NO I don't think you guys get it.... for example, my Dyson pet hair vacuum works fine when I 1st start on the house...However long into it is when it starts clogging, alerting off and on, and I have to constantly clean the filter and head multiple times every cleaning. You just can't review a vacuum (when it comes to pet hair) with just a few minutes of use after dropping some clumps of fur on the floor. The fur builds up and then bogs it down. GO FIND a lived in pet household due for a cleaning and vacuum it from start to finish. THEN you can reliably review your vacuums. BETTER YET, is if you reviewed on a MULTIPLE pet household.

I have 2 very fluffy cats and I vacuum almost every day with my Dyson. I clean the filter every 3-4 weeks. Perhaps you've got way more pet hair than I do, but I have not found my V10, V11 or V15 clogs on pet hair. Perhaps a corded vacuum might better in your situation? I appreciate the comment.

I live in an apartment with two labradors and a cat and I've just finished filling the forms for servicing my Dyson V12 Slim. It's my third cordless vacuum in the last 5 years, after a Dirt Devil and a Bosch Athlet ProAnimal. They all work great for the first couple of months, then the fine dust starts to clog the internal airways and you start losing suction power or, in the case of the Dyson, it simply prints an error and stops. If you have pets, especially ones that shed a lot, you need a corded vacuum with replaceable bags and really good filtration and I'm surprised there wasn't something like a Miele C3 Cat & Dog on this list.

    • @vacuumnerds
      @vacuumnerds  7 месяцев назад +8

Appreciate your comment. The Miele you mentioned is $1400 which is out of reach for the average person. As we purchase the vacuums we test; we can’t buy and test everything we’d like. We’re not part of a larger media company, it’s just me and an editor at the moment.

@@vacuumnerds interesting. In Europe, the Miele C3 Cat & Dog with the Turbo brush is around 400 Euros (the Electrobrush is another 200 Euros if you buy it separately, but right now it seems out of stock), while the Dyson V11 is around 600 Euros.

I just came back to this review to see if they had tested a Mielle. I'm debating between a Dyson, Mielle and Sebo at the moment - but I want a good review before deciding since they are all very expensive. I figure at this point though, I'm better off buying a $500-1000 vacuum than trying cheap one after cheap one and still needing to take my carpet (I mean that, I have 2 carpet 'rakes' because my vacuums cannot handle it, even though one is decently expensive and for pets.

@@genevievec.8002 we eventually bought a Sebo Airbelt E3 Premium and, while it is a bit heavy to do the power head, it's by far the best vacuum we've ever had. We walk barefoot around the house and you can actually feel the difference between vacuuming with the Dyson V12 Slim and the Sebo even though both technically come with a power head: the parquet feels mopped, not just vacuumed, and the carpets feel fluffy. Also, the Dyson simply can't pick up some of the dog hair since labradors have shorter hair which gets embedded into the carpet, but there are no problems with the Sebo.

I don't want to be breaking out the big vacuum anymore, but I certainly don't want to spend $800 (Dyson). And the battery can not start to "suck" in 6 months like they all seem to 😊 Right now im trying to leverage my awesome milwaukee batteries (long use and crazy fast recharge and i have a lot of them), but the first big vacuum of theirs was a total fail for regular use of golden retreiver hair and wanting to be easy enough for kids to use, too big, clumsy, heavy. I had two Dyson v11 animal vacs. I really liked them until they stopped working. The first one lasted a year and a half, and the second one lasted 8 months. I had two LG cordzeros. I loved those vacuums better than Dyson even. The first one lasted six months and the second one just died on me after three months. I bought them all at costco, and I returned them all to Costco and got a full refund thanks to their amazing return policy. I have three cats who shed quite a bit. Now I believe I'm going to be purchasing an upright corded vac. The only problem is I believe they are all too heavy for me since I have back problems. I really don't know what I am going to do, because I am convinced that these companies believe in planned obsolescence. Does anyone know of any corded vacs that are not more than 12 pounds?

The Dyson V11 affiliate link leads to three different Dyson V11 vacuums. The one in the video is said to be the V11 Animal, but I'm seeing in other places that only the V11 Torque Drive and V11 Outsize have the digital display showing the number of minutes left on the battery. Meaning, that the V11 Animal does not have it. Your video is the most recent one published on the Dyson V11 Animal (among the ones I've watched), so I am wondering if the V11 Animal now has the digital "timer" display. @@vacuumnerds**holds a tape measure from my scalp to the ends of my hair** 😓😣The Shark seems to be notorious for having inaccessible brush rolls locked in their own little cage. Plus their horror stories of short longevity.
I have a screwdriver out every time I use the central vac on carpet & the whole ordeal is exhausting esp with chronic illnesses.
I know asking for unpaid advice is very rude. I wish I was able to support your channel. So feel free to move on to your next task!
If you had to choose a lightweight vacuum to pick up human length rave hair 💇🏼‍♀️ off carpet with the *least *amount of tangle (and if it does, has an easily removable brushroll so I can throw the screwdriver into a river) what would come to mind?
Moving house within the year so won’t have the central vac. But I’m worried to put in a Dyson V10 investment if it’ll fail me within 2 years.
So I looked at the V8 which has the hair screw tool & detangling Motorbar but I was worried the low setting would be too weak on carpet to sufficiently pick up any hair. Not many channels do the rave hair tests or show the accessibility of brushroll removal. Tbh I’ve been obsessing over vacuum specs since JUNE, trying to not screw it up. Since then I’ve been to one showroom to test out vacuums (half of which weren’t even plugged in) and haven’t been well enough to go out again to another store.
I saw a pic of a v10 with major hair wrap on carpet with 11 inch hair & it’s spooked me. (My mum & I are having a lot of hair fall out due to continual high stress)
Am I looking in the wrong direction? I’m worried about trying a vacuum & have wasted the money if it immediately tangled & can’t return it. I was looking at bagless to avoid the ongoing costs but with dogs & allergies I’m open minded. Prefer cordless but not critical, it just can’t be 4kg or something because my fatigue can’t handle it.
P.S. Massive fan of the Mega Mess Tests! 🎉😅

Not even a simple thing like the belt that runs roller. Once your 400 dollar vacuum has a part failure well... time to spend another 400 and expect the same failure in however long.
