I’ve had this vacuum for a few years now and it’s still going strong. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was cleaning it today and thinking about how much I love no bags to buy and that it comes apart for easy clean up. When I first purchased it we had two dogs and a cat and it kept up well. The suction was great then and still is now. I’m always amazed at the amount of hair it picks up, it works better than any other vacuum I’ve had for pet hair. The attachments are handy and work well. It’s easy to use with arthritic hands. I just had to come write a review because I’m still so pleased with this purchase.
Darn, I was eager to check out your link. I think an upright would be way too bulky for my needs. I really like the stick vacs. I have an old Dirt Devil upright and it has awesome suction for my deep pile carpets upstairs, but it's way too heavy for me and I can barely use it.
Love this! I literally laughed out loud when the Black and Decker sucked up the hair and that "Slurp" noise! 😂😂😂 FYI though....I recommend trying to suck up all that long hair again with the Stratos, then just put it on the highest suction for about 10-15 seconds and there will be no hair wrap left. It has to rotate to cut the hair then it suck it all in. Try it and let me know. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you do that, the hair will be gone!
Have you tried Kenmore or Tineco? Also, a comparison chart would be EXTREMELY useful! All the data in easy to compare form. Love the energy and fun you bring to your videos. Thanks for all efforts: keep up the good work.

I hope your channel gets noticed as you are doing a great job!
@@LindyMac Good suggestions. I'll include noise level in some future comparisons. Most corded vacs are quite noisy. Most cordless are not. When we tested noise levels in the past, we found very little difference vacuum to vacuum.

while the stratos is indeed the newest shark cordless, the dyson v11 is 4 years old with the v15 detect being its newest model ,until next week. next week the new gen 5 detect will finally be released in the usa and it is nearly twice suction power of the v11 with 270 aw vs the v11's 150 air watts. the gen 5 has been out in europe for 6 months already. either way well done fellas!
The Dyson's have a great design. Unfortunately, they are very expensive and if you accidentally knock one over on tile you can watch your expensive vacuum shatter like glass.

The blue light on the front blinks indicating it is charged, but nothing happens when I hit the power button. I have only used it a couple of times. Any suggestions?
Having dogs and having had a number of cordless vacuums, pets really make the canister smell awful and it also smells nasty as you’re vacuuming. I combat this by putting a couple of drops of nice floral concentrated disinfectant on the filter, and onto a cotton ball and put it in the canister itself. Allow it to dry before vacuuming. You get the same effect of having a nice smell as you vacuum and a better smelling canister at a very small cost.

Can you do a comparison between the newer model Shark Vertex Pros and compare it against the stratos? I’m trying to identify the best use case foe getting the newer Vertex Pros over the Stratos besides weight. Bonus: could you also compare it against the newer dysons?
There are third party batteries for the Dyson products and their ecosystem is pretty big. Some of the others have third party batteries as well. Average lifespan varies, but I've had the Dyson V10 for over 2 years of heavy use and it's still fine.
You should clean the filter on any vacuum every 30 days. You can just run it under your kitchen tap and let it dry for a day. You should change your filter every 1-2 years.
Interesting idea. We're not generally fans of handheld vacs as they have extremely limited functionality due to low suction and tiny container. They're generally ok, if you have something small to clean up, but I'd rather just pull out a regular cordless vac.
My Dyson animal was terrible sucking up cat litter It would vacuum it up but then when you lifted it up off the floor, every single bit of the litter would pour right back out I truly hated my Dyson

I think there might be 17 people worldwide who know what a pascal is. (Well it used to be a person, and a computer language) Also I don't know why you would want to kill the pascal. I like the Shark. I replaced my Bissell corded vac with a Shark corded vac because I couldn't get replacement parts for the Bissell anymore. This is an important consideration that reviewers should cover. If you buy the vacuum to use, you will use it a lot and it will need maintenance and repair- filters, belts, beater brush, and for cordless you will eventually need a new battery. Hopefully you can get replacement parts so you don't have to just throw it away and get a new one. For your tangle test I would suggest cutting the fibers into something like 3" lengths to better represent the longest dog or cat hair that most people would have.
Appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately, we are not in a position to perform long-term testing. There's no way for us to accurately gauge the reliability of any particular vacuum. Consumer Reports is probably the best place for that kind of testing.
I don't like shark. mine only last for 1 year + 2 months, now it's perfomance is terrible, and too much trouble to contact the customer support for repairing
@@vacuumnerds yes, i use it often and clean it often. the broken part is the main brush roller, think it was jammed by something but since it cannot be take apart i won't know the exact reason. and my roommate convenced me to call them, their customer support told me though i have a warrenty, i still have to purchase another roller brush to fix this by around CAD$120+tax. After I camplain about the price and regret about this purchase, customer support gave me the 50% off, so i got the brush for about CAD$70. The new brush arrived just i havn't put them back on yet. The problem is solved, but im still not really happy, since my $70 amazon cheap cordless vacuum lasted 1 year as well, and more comfortable to use.
@@vacuumnerds and thanks for replying, think reviews on those point would be really helpful for users as well : - performance on stairs (since some of the vaccums are quite heavy, and cleaning can be a little less pleasant for house with multi-storey) - lifespan; how long does it last, and how well is the customer support (at least shark do have customer support, and they actually helps not like some of the other devices)
Shouldn’t cleaning be fun? Cars are monochromatic. Let’s leave a little color in our lives for 20 minutes couple times a week when it’s not in a closet.
@@vacuumnerds I appreciate your sentiment, personally I think "more is less" in terms of design colors. Single color with some contrasting accents, sure purple, red, that's fine, I think the entire industry has just gone over the top these days. In addition stick vacs often end up in plain sight, especially when they're wall mounted (the US at least doesn't have outlets in closets).
How the heck can you compare vacs when companies are using completely different measurements for suction and power ?? I want to see all vacs measured by WATTAGE and SUCTION POWER . My vac is 33kPa and 400W. WTH is a DYSON measured by ? I haven't been able to find ANY info and WTH are "air watts " or the measurements you're using that I've never even heard of or seen ANY vac stats measured using?
There are no standards and companies use different ways of measuring and marketing their vacuums. Motor wattage is only somewhat useful as the design of the motor, the motor housing and ways in which air is directed to I create suction and airflow is more important than the wattage of the motor. We measure kpa for suction the same way (as much as possible) for all the vacuums we test so we are comparing vacuums independently and not relying on manufacturer specs. As far as I can tell, air watts is not something with a defined physical unit, and there are no standard tools to measure it. Pa or Pascals is an abbreviation for a Pascal unit which is used to measure a pressure difference. This pressure difference can also be expressed in “inches of water” We chose kpa because it’s a common scientific standard. There are other pressure (suction) units as well, but we’re sticking with just one for this channel so we can compare vacuums similarly as best as we can.
I won’t ever buy a Dyson again. My v8 is on its way out after 3 years and my v10 has such terrible suction power. I use it in my car and it can barely clean it.
@@vacuumnerds I have. Multiple times. I went ahead and picked up the Kenmore vacuum you all recommended. I think what I've learned is cordless vacuums are super convenient but they're not a replacement for corded vacs.
I bought all of these on Amazon. Of course I'm going to recommend the vacs I think are solid. These comparisons cost hundreds of dollars to run, excluding production costs. Multiply that by 50 videos/year. I will link to the vacuums I think are good and the ones that aren't great you don't generally hear about, except in occasional shorts.

Where’s the Ryboi?!
Good suggestion for the next round!
So the shark better on carpet
It's pretty good. They Dyson is good too.
Hi Robin Williams.
A wonderful actor. Sadly gone way too soon.
I don't like shark. mine only last for 1 year + 2 months, now it's perfomance is terrible, and too much trouble to contact the customer support for repairing
Sorry to hear. Did you clean the filter regularly?
@@vacuumnerds and thanks for replying, think reviews on those point would be really helpful for users as well :
- performance on stairs (since some of the vaccums are quite heavy, and cleaning can be a little less pleasant for house with multi-storey)
- lifespan; how long does it last, and how well is the customer support (at least shark do have customer support, and they actually helps not like some of the other devices)
Why can't anyone seem to design a stick vac that doesn't look like a toddlers toy? Purple, orange, reds, wtf. C'mon.
Get the V11….
I've been very happy with it the last year
Does it take the dog for a walk, seems to do everything else
They make the cats run away!
no wonder company Dyson is almost bankrupt with this insane prices
Silicone=rubbery material
Silicon=rock
Sorry if one of us mispronounced a word.
Are we ignoring that my guy looks like Jeremy Renner?
A guy’s gotta work during the actor strike
Yall should try samsung
The Dyson battery doesn’t last!!
Dysoms are shocking for the price
I won’t ever buy a Dyson again. My v8 is on its way out after 3 years and my v10 has such terrible suction power. I use it in my car and it can barely clean it.
That's a bummer. Have you cleaned the filters? Any bagless vacuum requires pretty regular cleaning.
@@vacuumnerds I have. Multiple times. I went ahead and picked up the Kenmore vacuum you all recommended. I think what I've learned is cordless vacuums are super convenient but they're not a replacement for corded vacs.
Is there any tuber out there who reviews stuff and does not earn out of bloody selling it?
I bought all of these on Amazon. Of course I'm going to recommend the vacs I think are solid. These comparisons cost hundreds of dollars to run, excluding production costs. Multiply that by 50 videos/year. I will link to the vacuums I think are good and the ones that aren't great you don't generally hear about, except in occasional shorts.
You are missing the point mate, human nature, if you profit from selling it then how could we possibly know the review is honest?@@vacuumnerds
@@truthnotopinion3659Why would they waste their time? Feel free to shoot, edit, and publish a video and let me know how it goes. This is hours of editing for a video like this. Grow up.
I do like your customer service, keep it up!@@Burritosarebetterthantacos
Stratos win
It’s a good vac
Dyson are total rubbish compared to same price from other brands. I had one and I’m glad I got rid of it.
Everyone's experience is different. I've had the V10 for several years, and with regular cleaning it's been a champ. I use it daily
Ew, the Dyson doesn’t even have led lights… i”m glad I watched this video, I’m not impressed.
No LED lights on the V11 and below. The V12 and above have an excellent laser head though. I'll make another video shortly.
