Carson had the rare ability to sit back and let his guests be the stars. Perhaps that is why he lasted so long.

I miss the good ole television days when you didn't mind staying up late to watch Johnny Carson because no matter who was on, you got some genuine laughs that made your tough day at work a bit easier. We saw Rodney at his club, Dangerfield's, NY city and they put us in the front row, right in front of the stage. No reservations, I called after we arrived at our hotel. My husband was crying, he was laughing so hard. Then a guy bumped into my husband, "excuse me, excuse me" and it was Robin Williams popping in. Robin then did a show. It was unbelievable!

7:25 Usually Jonny can hold his laugh but Rodney caught him with that ‘boy big in 2’ joke. Wet myself laughing!!! Every time I see the dynamics between these two brings so much joy. Jonnys wink at Dangerfield at the end signifies so much.

Johnny was a great comedian himself, so it awesome to watch him feed into a real pro like Rodney. Carson was a class act. Unless you somehow pizzed him off lol, so I hear. Damn I miss those days.

Those were the days. Our time here is far too short to appreciate all the things life has to offer. Why do generations pass? Why was I once young and surrounded by family and love, only to grow old and be alone? I once nuzzled against my grandmother's bosom... and now there is nothing but chemical information on neurons in my brain. Why are we here? A single lifetime is not enough to reach our full potential. To God: Why so short a time?

I think a lot of them were jerks, but they had a class we seem to be currently missing, maybe not day to day, but definitely in show business, and its mainly the faults of the assholes who have been put in charge.
