I know what you mean, but when you ask many women what they like best in a man, and they say, sense of humor, but then you ask them what profession he should have, stand-up comic, doesn't even show in the top fifty.

Disagree. Comedy is not “a great profession”. Laughter comes from genuine shared perspective on humanity. And it’s much harder than milking lurid instinctive survival-related emotions like Greek tragedy or Hamlet, or Wicked or Les Miserables or law and order SVU. Comedy is much harder to pull off than tragedy. and at least equally great

One of the funniest things Rodney ever said was just before he passed when he said if the heart surgery he was about have was successful he would be out of the hospital in a couple of days but if it wasn't successful he would be out in a couple of hours. He always caught you off guard with his humor. RIP Johnny and Rodney...

Jay Leno said that when Rodney had his debilitating stroke and was in the hospital he went to visit him and Rodneys wife told Jay "He can't respond but he can hear you and he knows you're here... let him hold your finger". So Jay put his finger in Rodneys hand and Rodney squeezed it....
It was then that Jay leaned in and whispered "Rodney... that's not my finger..."
He said you could see Rodney visibly shaking he was laughing so hard inside.
