It was always pure joy to watch Johnny.Rodney Dangerfield Robin Williams Jonathan Winters Don Rickles.Late night has never been the same and I'm afraid it never will .All of them are gone I really truly miss those guys and all the late night magic moments.RIP Guys.
The voice, the face, the ticks, the self-deprecation, wit, charm, style and blue collar down to earth manner will never be duplicated. First ballot inductee to the hall of comedy fame. NO DOYBT!!
You haven’t lived unless you saw Rodney make Johnny laugh. Pure gold. I miss those days.
Rodney, THE cure for depression.. Rodney dangerfield, one of the best ever!.
I love Johnny's little gestures every time Rodney moves to a new topic. "Oh, we're talking about that now? Okay", subtle gestures, but there, and didn't interfere with Rodney's flow. Johnny was the best.
I love when you can hear Carson dying with laughter off camera. You could tell he really enjoyed and respected damn good comedians.
Rodney has the best energy in his delivery ever
I liked the joke "every year mom would take my school pictures and put them in the cabinet under the sink and behind the refrigerator to keep the roaches out of the house".
Almost every night in the 70s and 80s you would catch a legend on Carson, including the great Rodney Dangerfield
60’s also..
Yup I remember those days
I love how he would sit and just do another set. The audience was always lucky.
What an ending -
You pick a topic. Johnny roars. My face hurts! 🤣
👋🤣👍That dog bit had me rooolling on the floor! Oohhh Rodney! You are missed man! Rip🙏🕊️
Rodney knew what made Johnny laugh. One time when his bit was over he turned to the other guest and said “So what’s new with you?” And Johnny jumped out of his chair laughing 😂
That was James Mason, legendary British actor. Hilarious moment...
@@peterrichards931 And James had no clue how to react to that.
How I wish “entertainment” was one-fifth this good today. All the late night shows today should be off the air at 5:00.
I know my wife cheats on me. Every time I come home, the parrot says, "Quick, out the window."
My wife wants to have sex in the backseat of our car. I thought that sounded like a great idea...until she told me she wanted me to drive.
When we were married the priest asked if anyone objected. Her family formed a double line.
Love this. Nobody made Johnny laugh like Rodney!
When Johnny has to get up out of the chair to get some composure, you know it's funny.
You will never see another comedian like Rodney Dangerfield.
I haven't seen this one before. Thanks for posting.
Imagine the pressure this guy was under to deliver one liners like that! He was the goat!
I'm 66. Rodney Dangerfield is the best comedian of my generation. The future will love him even more.
rodney would be 101 years old right now. you’re 66 and you claim to be of his generation?
@@seanlubindoes it hurt you? this is a place for laughter, relax man
This generation gives him no respect
Rodney wasn't a member of our generation (Boomers). He was a member of the Silent Generation. Same as our parents.
Yes we do.. I'm 28.. I've Loved him since I was 21.. Him and Don
Its friggin awesome seeing johnny belly laugh that much
Rodney's "off" nights are better than most comedian's "best" nights!
👍
those are even better; his improvisation is gold
Rodney was one of the very few comedians that could make Johnny laugh that hard...
BEAUTIFUL!!!
I haven’t seen this one yet! Nice to hear new jokes! Rest in peace to these two legends.
Yea, it's surprising how I've seen so much of Rodney's stand-ups or appearances and then I find one I hadn't seen. It's like Rodney has 'new' material for me to enjoy.
These 2 guys together had some of the funniest stuff you will ever see!
Rodney was one of a kind. Hilarious!
Rodney dangerfield, one of the best ever!
Cocaine habit
Might be #1
True legend Rodney!!! Miss him 😢😢😢 No one ever will be like him… A real joke machine. Lucky those who saw him live!!!
The world was blessed by these two giants for 25 years or more. We’ll never see they’re like again. Glad I was around for all of it
Rodney was on fire here
The cameraman is amazing, keeping Rodney in the frame!
That has to be one of the best sets ever. So funny.
Seeing him trying to remember his place and cracking a smile starting at 2:20 is so funny, very rare he does that. The take he does at 2:35 towards Johnny and Ed is also hilarious :)
Ed isn't there. That was Doc filling in for Ed.
@@samsmith4216 my bad, I had commented before he was even finished his routine and sat down lol
I took it as he was just enjoying his work.
His job was to make people laugh.
People were laughing.
He was like a champion surfer riding the wave 🌊
I miss Rodney and Johnny
Johnny's look back at 4:33 had me cackling. Looking around thinking "Did someone say something about a club?" 😂
Never seen Rodney break character like he did towards the end
seriously ive never heard rodneys laugh
Heard his routine 100 times
I laugh every time .
He's a genius.
I've heard it 101! No respect! 😂
That was definitely one of his best nights on Johnny Carson you can just tell that they both respect each other a lot and like each other
Rodney, THE cure for depression.
Agreed....
If this guy can’t make u laugh get some help. This episode one my favs with Carson
I missed this one. I'm glad because now. I have another Dangerfield skit I can watch 52 times and laugh harder each time.
Just incredible, we realize more and more each day how great those legends were, good days. Rodney, Johnny, Rat Pack, Pryor, Carlin..... Thank God for youtube.
“Rapping Rodney” is a brilliant comedy album !
My wife put a mirror on our bedroom ceiling, Yeah, she said she likes to watch herself laugh!
“What a crowd! What a crowd!”
I saw Rodney's last two shows at the Tropicana. Very nice man. Eh...my wife is like a doorknob, everybody gets a turn but me!😆🥃
😂
I feel very fortunate that I got to see Rodney, Rickles, & Carlin in person back in the day.
The greatest there ever was!
I just performed on that same stage at the Tropicana two weeks ago and was thinking of Rodney. ❤
When late night t.v. was worth staying up for.
"I appeal to everyone who can do me absolutely no good..." I know the feeling Rodney....Requiem en Pace..
Absolutely the best.
Back in the day, R. D. was the funniest man alive!
Rodney One of the Best "Old School 🤣 🏫 🎓" Comic Genius 🤣🥸😂!! R.I.P. Rodney 😢Your now get the "RESPECT " you deserve in Heaven 🙏💞🙏
From a time so many of us just took for granted would last forever.. well, nothing does, thankfully, we have these video clips. NO talk show host today, could even shine Johnny Carson's shoes.. they're all hate filled politicized jerks. Johnny and his guests- were always classy- even Rodney with his double entendres - funny and sorely missed.
I was just a kid when this was on, yet he had me ROFL
That cleaning his teeth joke is actually hilarious, but you gotta think about it. He takes out his dentures to clean them, so hence, he can talk while they're soaking. 😂🤣
6:32 Dr. Vinny Boombatz!
Rodney Dangerfield was so funny...awesome clip... thanks!
King of the one Liners!
The night I saw the Tonight show live I hit the jackpot. Johnny, Ed were there & of course the great Rodney!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dangerfield and Carson together was entertaining enough
Back when late night tv was worth watching.
Rodney: I was ugly, very ugly. When I was born, the doctor smacked my mother.
That's one of his best!
My father never took me to the zoo. He said "if they want you, they'll come get you!"
Nice!! 😂
You could see how much Johnny seemed to look forward to having Rodney on his show. Even if some of the jokes had been done before, it was always a good and uproarious time. 👍
Thank you. One of the best.
Back in those days my alarm clock was set to 4:50am for work but I would routinely sacrifice sleep time so as to not miss The Tonight Show.
He was such a funny, funny guy! Timeless humor.
Oh look!! Awesome and hilarious gentlemen with NO ISSUES.... AWESOME TIME IN HISTORY
Cocaine addict
Rodney was a great comedian, but Rodney and Johnny are the perfect couple.
Contrast an episode like this (which I haven't seen before, merci beaucoup for posting this) with Rodney going on David Letterman. Rodney was trying the same routine, but Dave would be so sarcastic that he really pulled the rug out from under him. I think Rodney was too nice to mention it but I'm sure he wasn't excited about going on with Dave.
Carson knows when to shut up & let the man work his magic.
My favourite comedian 😂
I’m in tears! 🤣
We could use these two right now in this screwed up world
I never get any respect. I bought my son a bow and arrow set for Christmas, be got me a sweatshirt with a target on the back!
Drinking game: a shot every time Rodney touches his tie knot.
I'm already plastered.
Liver failure before the day is out.
Order the stomach pump before you begin
At least 100 times
I just woke up in the hospital. Hell of a game
Hearing Rodney laugh from Carsons joke about streamlining was heartfelt. Never heard his voice go up that high before.
I really miss you guys 🥲but I appreciate you guys sharing your laughs with us ❤️
To whoever runs this channel: Please post a clip every day!
When you are watching Rodney, your watching the whole Show.
It's very rare to see Rodney make mistakes in his monolog. To see him cracking up makes this the best guest appearance on the Tonight Show.
"To see him cracking up..." 👍
Everyone old enough to remember, is too old to know if you're right.
Love when he mentions his doctor
Quick witted funny guys.
These were the TV shows that made history...being the best to grace the screen. Today's TV is garbage. Especially the late shows....good lord🙆♂️🤦♂️
The absolute best 👍
Johnny Carson was obviously one of Rodney's biggest fans. He had him on the show repeatedly and the audience just loved him. Judging from Johnny's extreme style of clothes and long hair this show had to air in the 70's. Carson was a heavy cigarette smoker, and he can be seen smoking in this clip.
1976. The year I graduated high school. Those were the days. Wonderful television in the 1970's.
@@jillkjv3816 I graduated from high school in 1963. When I watch these vintage clips its almost as if everyone is still with us and yet sadly we know they’re all gone.
@@jillkjv38161976 here as well, I agree with you.
Rodney once asked Johnny if he could have one of his cigarettes and Carson replied "You know Rodney their not good for your health" to which Rodney replied "Well I got this crazy doctor who told me I gotta keep smoking if I want to stop chewing gum, so what do I care". And Carson almost fell out of his chair laughing hystairacly. 👍
I don't think Johnny asked 1 question
Rodney was so good, he should have been on Carson's very last show as his only guest.
The camera guy really got a workout following Rodney as he was bobbing and weaving back and forth I tell ya, he don't get no respect either.
The way Rodney was going on Johnny could've gotten up, walked backstage, gotten a drink, had a smoke, come back and Rodney never would have even known he was gone.
This really brings back some great memories. This year was a very special one for me as a 14 year old kid.
Watching Carson most nights I was so young and honestly thought he'd be there doing his show forever.
Getting old sucks, but not quite as bad as the alternative 😉
Am 72 , and agree 100%
A man in the crowd asks: Hey Rodney, how'd you get started? Rodney: I was 12 years old, alone in my room, and I got started!
My wife's so dumb, she got a nail in the spare!!
I tell ya, I don't get no respect ... Last week, my wife told me that she was going to cut me down to twice a month. But I thought about it, and I figured that it wasn't too bad. I know a couple of guys that she cut out completely.
I remember the time I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.
I saved a girl from being attacked last night. I controlled myself.
I told my dentist my teeth are going yellow. he told me to wear a brown tie.
I'll tell ya, I don't get no respect... The other day, I got back from a business trip. I got in a cab and said to the driver, "Hey! Take me to where the action is!" So ya know where he took me? He took me to my house!
Do ya remember the first time you had sex? I do, and boy, was I scared! I was alone!
I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet.
I was so ugly my mother used to feed me with a sling shot.
I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out.
I worked in a pet store and people would ask how big I would get.
I'm at the age where food has taken the place of sex in my life. In fact, I've just had a mirror put over my kitchen table.
My cousins gay, he went to London only to find out that Big Ben was a clock.
My father carries around the picture of the kid who came with his wallet.
My mother had morning sickness after I was born.
My marriage is on the rocks again, yeah, my wife just broke up with her boyfriend.
My mother never breast fed me, she told me she only liked me as a friend.
My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I want a second opinion. He said okay, you're ugly too.
My uncle's dying wish - he wanted me on his lap. He was in the electric chair.
My wife and I were happy for 20 years. Then we met.
My wife is always trying to get rid of me. The other day she told me to put the garbage out. I said to her I already did. She told me to go and keep an eye on it.
My wife met me at the door the other night in a sexy negligee. Unfortunately, she was just coming home.
My wife wants sex in the back of the car and she wants me to drive.
R.D.
My wife is a terrible cook. How can toast have bones?
“Thats how I met her!” 🤣😂
It's amazing how much older that generation looked. Johnny was 50 and Rodney was 54 in this clip but both look older than that!
They both smoked
Johnny Carson total one off ..what a guy.
One of the Best ever!
Miss this, but the 70’s. Ties so wide you could land a 747 on them, and the leisure suit. WHAT were we thinking?!
The greatest one liner comedian ever.
Haven't seen that one. Thanks for sharing!
Rodney was especially good on Carson.
Try counting the number of times he crosses his legs and touches his tie.
Rodney Dangerfield is on my personal Mt. Rushmore of comedy.
The others are Carson, Gleason and George Carlin.
I'm adding a 5th...Rickles
🥳🥳 Watch caddy shack, he’s in that 🥳🥳
Idk “Monday I’ll try to create my own show…” into the “lately I’m swimming a lot” after the crowd’s response is hilarious to me. Very aware was dangerfield and yet so self-conscious. It’s a shame he couldn’t just let go, as it were, and embrace the funny man wholeheartedly
