Tripception - I guided a tour through Vietnam!!!

- This is the first tour I guided in Vietnam, and the last time I will buy second hand bikes and let the local mechanics work on them.
Anyway, lessons learnt, and the next one will involve way less bike fixing and way more jungle riding.

Thanks for watching guys, I hope you've enjoyed the video, and remember; get out there and have fun. And it doesn't need to be on one of my tours, solo travel has its own charms too.

🤣😂🤣

@@yogindertickoo Me too. You've gotta give this bloke Ed a Gold Meda for his travels & sense of humour.l

Your videos are one of a kind. Most youtubers these days show their entire trip as it happens day to day and yes it is interesting but it doesn't always feel genuine. With your work there is no doubt that everything is as you feel and i love it. Cheers to many more c90 adventures.
It's quite humbling that I never manage to be the first comment here. I'm 4th already!
c90adventures I just realized you were doing the inception music with your voice. a trip in a trip in a trip. haha. tripceptiom
ed are you doing a 2018 tour ? how much is the round trip from the UK.
Hay man glad you are still alive I was worried!
Are you still a MAG member? put some MAG stickers on your bike there's a good lad..
I’ve just binged watched your videos today. Glad I found your channel 😊
I'm Cheech - If you want to experience the chaos in person, make sure you're subscribed to the tours mailing list on my website 🙂
Ed March, you're a legend.
I'll just assume you own a C90 garage? I feel like you could MacGyver a C90 from scratch at this point.
just started watching your videos a few weeks ago. decided to tour vietnam for 3 weeks on bikes with 2 mates, booked flights for end of August and bought a go pro and this pops up! just got your DVD too it's awesome!
john and a bike is it different than his videos on here?
it's a more polished and produced version of his RUclips videos with different narration with other bits of footage added also. that's only way I can describe it but id recommend it!
+john and a bike - how did your trip go?
How was the trip ? Did everything went safely ?
After seeing the Top Gear Vietnam special this has always been a dream of mine. Your group looks metal, wish I could have been there.
I've been hooked on these videos for the past few days, especially this one. Very entertaining, great editing and footage. I don't think I could ever do these trips unless I knew how to repair everything on the bike (or Edward was with me lol)
Watched this tripception while on a trip myself, adding another layer 😂
Hey Ed, your video truly touched my heart. Your enthusiasm, humor, and genuine love for the open road are truly infectious. I felt like I was right there with you, experiencing the joys and challenges of your journey. Your adventurous spirit is an inspiration, reminding us all to embrace life's possibilities and chase our dreams. Thank you for sharing your incredible adventure with us. Keep riding and exploring, my friend!
Ed, you never fail to entertain! I had a grin on my face throughout the entire video.
Fully agreed ... he's hilarious! 🤣
You should’ve done a psychedelics at ha long bay. Thus creating a trip, within a trip, within a trip, within a trip
This was a great trip down memory lane! My buddy and I did the trip back in October 2017. I had never ridden a motorcycle in my life so this was definitely a crash course in - "Motorcycle 101: remedial kickass". 100% would love to go back and tour the North a bunch more.
Ps: Sapa is a dump. Don't go there...
For engine rebuilds in Vietnam, keep an eye out for workshops with at least basic machining equipment.
Brings back memories of first trip 35 years ago ~ a 10,000 mile 4 month overland trip across Africa. Was the very early days of arranged trips. We all got around camp fire and discussed which countries we should go through to get back to UK. We had to sometimes pass through lesser used borders and bribe our way over because of starting in SA which had Apartheid segregation policies at the time, therefore many borders were officialy closed to letting you through if you had been there. At the time one in 50 travellers were not making it back alive due to disease, wild animal attacks, accidents or ambush.
It fired up a life long travel bug. Now just book in hotel for first and last day of trips and just ask locals for local points of interest or make first visit to tourist centre which is great to hire for instance, a professional photographer for a few days to show you all the places you would normally miss. Cost a fraction of what a tour firm would ask and you experience the real culture at street level making it up as you go. The adventure is surprisingly easy if you have patience and go with the flow. It's fun too trying to venture on as many different types of transport as possible in a limited time from trains, varied boats and planes, to bikes and trikes...
Above all, humour, manners, smiles, patience and an open mind are key to amazing experiences...
'what my dung' that was funny
as well as the hay pun!!
it is a name
OMG, that looked like chaos but great fun. Never seen as many mechanical repairs, except on my overland travels through Africa when our trusted Land Rover kept breaking down. But, breakdowns and mechanical issues make for great stories afterwards - just as your video confirms. Epic trip Ed. Well done - you're the real MacGyver!! 👏 😎🛵👍😅
That seems like a really fun and unusual trip! But, you'd have to be a special kind of person to manage the chaos and mechanical troubles that are sure to pop up. I bet you told everybody that it was very likely their motorbikes would break down during the trip, but, no worries, I will fix them one way or another so the journey can continue. I liked the part about the Vietnamese mechanics "repairing' the bikes. Good job on the video.
I think Vietnam has a mechanics association that has agreed to only half fix things so other mechanics can make some money too.
They gutted most of the good stuffs and install the cheap Chinese parts maybe 20 years ago. That is the common practice of scam if most don't know about buying they could buy a dream 2 but internal part are not from japan but china. So the bike will fail quicker due to normal wear ant tear of inferior part such as sprocket, chain, nut, bolt, transmission, and engine parts. Then they sell the good genuine part for a higher price when you bring your bike in to get fixed.
not just mechanics, but any electronic servicing establishments as well, same here in Philippines, they just agreeing and exploiting people with minimal knowledge about the product.
how are you not sponsored by GoPro yet? The stuff you do is twice as extreme as half of the guys they sponsor.
Sponsored by GoPro? Um, maybe all the penis themes are scaring them away!
@@justintruedough4450 :)) definitely, but it's funny and very unique 😅
Go pro? Honda suppose to give him free serwis in the whole world!
@@SpakwariumWawa Judging by the video, I wouldn't trust mechanics in some parts of the world...
I did the same trip in 2002 with a Honda Wave 110cc, I knew then to avoid Chinese copies at all cost. Taiwanese made Sym brand is a much better choice.
SYM yoyagers are awesome, that's what I ride in the UK!
Love sym, reliable, tough, simple and cheap, what scooters should be.
Nice trip, Mongolia sounds awesome. I also want to go there next year.
+Big_Adam_2050 is that a South Park reference?
God damn MONGORIANS!!! Love the vids Ed!
‘I don’t think you’ve got authority....’
Just watched your latest Moab episode and your banter is still the same at the end of your videos. 😅 "Soooo uhh, yeah".
I'm living in Vietnam right now and think you did a great job showcasing the country and all its chaos. Keep it up, Ed!

Awesome work as always dude. I get holiday blues just watching this. Can't imagine it being easy to go from that much uncertainty and chaos to slip back into the rat race. Thanks for all your hard work.
Ed great video as always - looking forward to all to come, and hopefully I'll be able to sign up for one of your future tours. In the meantime I plan to explore all the local trails in my area!
All the vids are so good it's hard to say best one yet. But it was amazing! You turned these ordinary people into stars!! Great trip!

This tour is a brilliant idea. Just brilliant
You managed to capture the horror and beauty of Vietnam. Amazing video, thank you

You are basically doing everything I wish and would love to do. So inspiring
Ed, I rarely ever watch videos more than 10 minutes all the way through, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one to the end. Thanks for the video.
hell yeah!!!!! I've been checking RUclips every other day to see if you had posted something!!! woot!!!
Constant smile watching this
what a joy, of wachting the pure essence of travelling by motorbike, just fantastic i laughed a lot thanks
That was great! I always enjoy your videos. One day I will travel like that but for now I shoot videos here in town. I was asking the other day on one of my videos if anyone had heard from you. Been a while and I was curious.
Keep up the excellent work sir, thank you for the effort involved and please keep them coming. 👍🏻
This vlog was very enjoyable and a real hoot to watch. I wish that you had taken more videos of your trip and had included more of your stops along the way (other than motorcycle repair places).
Quality Ed, a great video 👌🏽
I love it ED! I want to go on the next one!
Really cool video and trip! Watching in Sweden during Corona virus time...So good to watch your videos! Thanx for making them!
Great video as always, I would like to see a Ed March complete Honda C90 Repair video
i just bought a c70, this inspires me. great videos!
Still watching this once every couple of months! The best.
That was the best, the ending was my favorite where everyone was miserable but they had the best times of their life
awesome one, been waiting for the vid, keep them coming
Awesome Videos! Never thought I'd be so entertained by some people riding 90's but this Shit is Good! Much Respect and Love from Las Vegas.
This is so awesome the idea of doing stuff yourself as much as possible if you know enough about the bikes and doing adventure stuff properly 😀
You have such great spirit and nothing lets you down. If you liked Swedish scenery and nature you now entering a whole new level.
Its actually hard to take in all the fantastic views in Norway. You will love it.
Great trip , great riding there. Randy was very lucky not to have been more hurt in the bus crash. Riding in many parts of the world it is best to forget about lines on the road and just make way for each other.
Great video as always! Keep it up!
I like that M13 shirt... ;)
Holy shit I was JUST about to message you on PSN or something hahaha, insane!
blast from the past hopes all well
I just thought the same thing someone wheres an M13 shirt
You get around buddy
Wonderful to see the great Mordeth13 here. I can't believe I just found Ed's channel after that Colombia video blew up
You brought fun back to my life.
Love it, another great video. Cheers
Brilliant ride!. inspiring me to fight through the mire of DVLA bollocks to get my 1968 c50 on the road!
Truly amazing trip. My kind of chaos too. I think this looks fun. Honestly though I think the new bike thing would be a bit more fun because spending that time out in a city or an off-road detour instead of at a garage would be cool. Keep it up!
Good god you're a good guide sorting all that out, earned your keep for sure
I have just discovered Ed and his exploits - ride on ! brilliant
Great fun and educational too! I noted the subtle Top Gear reference done by not mentioning Top Gear, genius.
Also I now see that a hammer isn't the right tool for small motorbike repairs, I'll just use that to fix the bigger bikes now.
I was just rebuilding my c50 engine, Right before you where uploading ;)
Awesome editing by the way.
I’m so glad I found your channel!
Yesss very happy by watching this video !
I loved Vietnam..... this brought it all back
You sir are a legend 🔥🔥🔥
Another great video seem's like a Fun Honest guy !
I absolutely have to go on an Ed March Motorcycle Tour before I die! They look like a blast
finally a new video and well worth the wait!
Best video yet!
Watching this made me want to do the trip again. Did it two years ago on a Yamaha nouvo with only a flat tire on the way.
Big love and respect from indonesia man!!
Love that someone still use that amazing moped for adventure.
Hope i can do this to with my scooter 😁
(Sorry for my bad english)
Greatest travel videos ever!
