I think he found a few there that knew what they were doing. That vietnam tour trip drove him insane with how bad the mechanics were iirc. Maybe this was a little before he stopped trusting them, but it seems like these guys were knowledgeable enough.

Thailand have good bike mechanics .Just wish they would use a gauge when putting air in a wheel ,THEIR ONLY WEAK SPOT .
