That’s actually what I do. In Michigan that has to be your first words when encountering police while carrying. They relax once you tell him right off the bat because he knows he’s among a law abiding citizen.

Shaw Cremeans I live in Canada, and here not only are you not supposed to drive around with a gun besides you, if you get pulled over, there's really no reason you should have both hand on the steering wheel without moving or else you get shot. The US has come to this because lot of people have gun and officers are genuinly scared for their lives anytime they pull someone over even if it's routine.

My buddy and I got stopped one time, he was armed. He told the officer right away. Asked the officers to remove the firearm before they proceeded with anything else. Officer removed the weapon from my buddies hip, proceeded to talk to us about why he stopped us (we were going 15 over the speed limit). He gave him a warning simply because of how he interacted with the officer. The officer was so happy with how that all played out and thanked my friend for taking the extra step of asking to have the firearm removed before anything else.
Wow that cop didn't even have to go through the hassle of filing a report about killing someone that day! Such efficiency when doggy-style compliance to fascist murderers is taken beyond ridiculous extremes

When you get stopped by the police, best way to tell an officer you’re armed, is to hand over your gun permit with your license and registration and then say you have a license to carry.
Unless the officer pulls a fidel castro (from the simpsons) and says "what gun licence" before shooting you out of concern for your apparent law breaking

I once told an officer that I was armed, he asked for me to get out of my car, he searched my car and asked for my Ins, registration, and after he searched my vehicle, he stated, "I thought you said you were armed?" I told him that I am armed, I got a left arm and a right arm.

@Tommy EarBoxes I was once stopped in a speed trap a couple years ago, and I had my firearms permit and was concealed carrying. Most certainly the cop saw that I had a firearms license when he ran my driver's license, but he never asked and I never said. I took my deserved ticket and went on my way.

I am a retired federal agent (plain clothes) and if I was pulled over I kept my hands on the steering wheel and tell them that I am a federal agent and I am armed. I let the police officer tell me what to do. It was that simple. I never had my gun on a seat or under the seat. It was always on my person. If I was coming from the range and I had extra guns, I kept then in a gun bag that was closed and zipped up. Nothing was ever in plain view.

You can check on government website if you like, as of 31st March 2019 there were 159,755 firearms licences and 572,488 shotgun licences in England and Wales alone, so that's 732,233 people who have a some form of firearms licence, and a total of over 1.8million firearms. Its about 1.3million shotguns and the rest is made up of rifles/pistols etc (as you can have more than one gun on one licence).

If you're going to go about armed, you should already have an idea of what you will and won't do in the presence of law enforcement. A simple statement revealing you are legally carrying a firearm, while keeping your hands in plain view, should suffice. I've spoken to police on a number of occasions while armed, I treat them as I want to be treated, no problem. This isn't neurosurgery, although for some it's a mystery at best.
I like livin’ on the edge and visit convenience stores, restaurants and malls without guns. Heck I’m 40 and the closest thing I ever came to a weapon was an empty shotgun shell found in the woods when I was 6.
I don’t know anybody with a gun and I think even our local police force doesn’t always carry one. I’m from Europe could you tell?

There was one video I saw 2 years ago from a gun-based channel, the process shown was:
1.) When you're pulled over, before the officer walks over to speak with you, pull out your carry permit then put both of your hands on the wheel (this stops your hands from leaving their sight later to grab the permit which could get hairy).
2.) Tell the officer you're carrying and use one hand to give them the permit, keep the other hand on the wheel.
3.) Tell them where the weapon is on your person or in the car.
4.) If instructed to do something, comply.
5.) If instructed to exit the vehicle, open the door from the outside handle.
Or even better 6.) DON'T CARRY A GUN TO AVOID ALL DANGERS STATED IN POINT 1 to 5 (This is only for the smart ones)
