    Without some rain, there would be no streams! Keep after it - great video! Fish like rain! You will have to visit your old friend again.

    Beautiful streams and beautiful fish. As far as releasing the fish back into the water they literally drop fish from planes in remote ponds in the Adirondacks and they do just fine. Great video!

    G'Day from Australia,
    Lovely looking streams and trout. I usually tie on a dry dropper rig when I'm fishing small mountain streams, more often I hook fish on the nymph, especially brown trout. Those brook trout were magnificent looking. We have brook trout in a few streams, mostly escapees from trout farms. In some streams these fish have bred naturally in the next spawning season. I'm yet to catch a brookie.
    I'd like to try the mono rig or French leader. You seem to have no trouble casting the dry dropper rig as well as streamers. At the moment I cast fly outfits up to 7wt as well as a number of tenkara rods. I'm also experimenting with floating .7mm running line which is almost as thin as store bought and expensive nymphing lines. It's also really cheap for 100 feet of line. It casts a dry dropper really well on my 6wt rod.
    I look forward to watching more of your videos. I like how they contain great advice and fine stretches of water.
    Cheers,
    Steve.

      Thank you! Appreciate the compliments. The brookies are beautiful little fish. I don't chase them as much as I should. If you have any questions regarding the mono rig feel free to ask.

    Does throwing the fish back hurt them? Those bookies need more gentle love me thinks.

    • @Brownsylvania
      @Brownsylvania  3 года назад

      People have varying opinions, but I don't see how tossing them back into the water hurts them especially compared to a hook set in their mouth. It's not like I'm baseball pitching them back into the water.

    • @Brownsylvania
      @Brownsylvania  3 года назад +1

      I just don't see how it's worse then the fish flopping on rocks or on top of the water and also getting a hook jerked into the side of their mouth. Surely that is worse than a flop into the water. Also the fish are hardier than we think. The one brookie had it's stomach exposed and was torn up from some sort of animal and was still doing fine. It's just the perception of "throwing" the fish back. It really isn't harmful to land in water.

      They literally drop fish out of planes in Utah to stock the mountain lakes……this is a non-issue

      It’s no different to how a trout will jump way up out of the water on its own accord and I have seen them jump pretty darn high

    Why do you drop the fish it’s not that hard to bend over to gently do it I do this in waders in 4 ft of water just to do it nicely you should either gently do it or atleast throw them in deep water

    • @Brownsylvania
      @Brownsylvania  3 года назад

      They're not hitting the bottom where I toss them back.
