The fact that most of the notable assassins died in Rogue is a testament to how deadly Shay really was.
I think it’s really cool that, Connor, who we all know is undeniably skilled, single-handedly resurrected an entire assassin brotherhood, whereas Shay single-handedly destroyed one.

I always liked the gameplay of AC1, because you really had to work hard in stealth, to eavesdrop to get info, and most of the time not knowing what to do, so you had to scan environment and people to get clues on what to do next, gameplay really made you feel like an assassin, and it also portrayed how smart Altair actually was, the way he deducted stuff around him, he had mind of a great detective.

Ezio finding him, showing him immense respect, it hits me equally as hard every time.
and Ezio as well. his Death hits very differently from Altaïr's, but is still a Tear Wrencher as well. and knowing the last Assassin to ever see him alive was Shao Jun, whom Ezio told everything too, and taught what he knew. apparently she is going to be in the next Assassin's Creed Game after Mirage, which is set in China. but as the Main Character or just a side character for the story's sake, i do not know, but i am hyped as hell!

I agree, I enjoyed Rogue. Origins and odyssey are also better than anyone says. I played all AC games instead of 1, revelations (about to finish it after finishing odyssey), and Valhalla. The AC games are awesome even if some are RPG. Most people just bitch about some changes and forget the point of a game is to have fun.

Altair and Ezio as many others said, hit me the most. Both of them equally hit my emotions like a truck. I was so obsessed with the idea and vision of this game when it first launched in 2007. There was nothing like it at the time, for me at least. Altair was such a mysterious badass from the beginning. He was the hook to this franchise. I wanted to learn so much more about him and the AC lore. I literally would read the Assassin's Creed wiki for new info 😂 Ezio's journey feels complete. And I am so glad they made so many games for us to watch him grow and become wise. I can't help but feel so much sadness and nostalgia when listening to his speech as he passes away on the bench. Because it's a speech for all of us as we grow up into adulthood. You really do begin to understand the meaning of it so much more deeply.
I do wish the old AC we loved so much had continued the way we wanted it to but I'm still happy to have more AC games nonetheless. 💜
