Stevie, this video is pure joy to watch....I am struck by the fact that a young professional like you enjoys the most basic of aviation experiences by owning and flying not one but two vintage airplanes all over the country...I'm guessing that that First Officer on the CRJ wishes she could do the same! Your sincere appreciation of flying low and slow, genuinely engaging with everyone you meet , and your professional skills in the cockpit are a great example for others. Thanks for allowing this old guy and all your other subscribers to ride along.

Your situational awareness is, as I see it, exemplary. Best wishes for continued success with the channel and your "fleet!" BTW 77A is gorgeous. Superb job. She looks factory fresh. Stevie it really warms my heart to see your 140 restored with such love. My family had a 140 before I was born in 1950. During ww2 he worked at Boeing in Wichita Ks. and when he, my Mom and my sister came to CA. To go to work for North American Aviation at LAX they brought the 140 straight from the Cesna plant. When I was 3 yrs old we went to Hawthorne Airport where it was stored in one of the Carousel hangers. I used to love to run to back of the hanger and ride it around to the front door. When I was 9 they bought me a USAF uniform and took a photo of me standing next to our red, white and black 140. In 1969 I enlisted in the USAF and my first duty station was at McConnell AFB where I could see both the Boeing and Cesna plants everyday. So many good memories. One more thing one of our family friends had a beautiful Mooney M20. A real rocket. I was also in love with Bellancas. Socal was such a great place to grow up. I live 1/4 miles from Zamparini field in torrance and always look up when I hear an aircraft. From a USAF Viet Nam Vet thank you for taking care of such a wonderful aircraft. I finally had to turn in my Pilots license in 2017 after a heart attack after my wife passed away.

It's so amazing how so many airport ATC follow Stevie, she's the queen of the skies, loved by all the aviation community. The ATC talk getting into Kansas was a lot to comprehend and yes complicated. I always find all that chatter to be the most difficult aspect to general aviation. Air looked heavy and humid and Stevie confirmed that on the ground. As always the landings, scenery and aircraft were beautiful.

About 40 years ago, as a 100 hour private pilot with about 4 hours of tail wheel time, I bought a Taylorcraft BC12D in ABQ and flew it all the way to Barrow, Alaska. It was a great journey and the portion from Northern California all the way to the Arctic was done with no working radio or electrical system. Lots of fun and challenging memories of basic pilotage with a sectional, and a crummy compass. This was way before any kind of portable nav equipment. A total blast that still makes me smile when I think of it. Have fun and be safe in your plane!

Stevie, you are a joy to watch. Your energy and enthusiasm, is infectious. I am told old to fly now. But I fly on the ground, riding my motorcycle. I love the air, and spotting airplanes as they fly over. Have fun at Oshkosh.

Don't bring your cameras into air-conditioning when on the ground. If the camera bodies and lenses get cold, you will get condensation when you go outside into warm, humid air. Once the cameras warm up, you'll get less condensation. I assume you'll might get some condensation if you descend rapidly into to the warm, humid air.

I thought it was brilliant that ATC, after you advised you'd do a couple of 360s to get under the cloud, checked in to make sure you were okay. I'm sure that would be them ensuring you were still in VMC.

@@bayflight Do you know if SCFC does initial flight training in tailwheels? It will be a while, but I need to get a BL-65 and show how to do it right instead of doing it dirty, if you get the reference.

10:04. I like your decision to drop under the clouds rather than over them. Even if they're scattered where you are, it's pretty easy for an air mass change or humidity change and they're suddenly impenetrable. I know you're IFR rated, but I don't think the plane is (?) and having to get an emergency IFR clearance to descend through clouds would be embarrassing. :-D.

Beautiful aircraft and great going through the pass out of ABQ. Used to fly through there every week in my PA-28-235 Piper Cherokee N15410. Sure miss those days and flying back and forth from LBB (Lubbock) to ABQ (Albuquerque). I parked across from Al Unser and got to talk with him while our planes were warming up. Great runway and great place to fly. Best wishes !

That was awesome. Such professional radio work and great flying skills. And the Continental engines love those hot starts. My Cherokee 180 was a little finicky starting hot after fillups until I learned the right combination. Once they get your tail number wrong in the system, it's hard to get them corrected. Great job and it's a pleasure riding along. Keep up the videos!!
