Green and purple together is beautiful. Your colors are very deep. Nice
Wow! Five years.
Good job. Another handy tool that I use to separate the headband is a bone folder. I've also successfully used it in replacing the head and tail bands completely without damaging the binding or text block.
Cool! I was holding my breath!
Thanks! The bookmark came out of a notebook I just bought, but this will help me fix it.
Thanks. Been wanting to add some ribbon markers
I've been trying to find a tutorial on ribbon changing where you can actually see whet they are doing... YOURS IS IT! Everyone else talks about it but won't get the camera in there. Thanks so much for this!!!!
Very good video tutorial. Got a bunch of Bibles and books I need to try that with.
I love it. Every video I've seen so far makes it look like their performing open heart surgery. I've been wanting to change some of my bibles ribbons for awhile now but have been to afraid of messing it up. Your video was a sigh of relief for me. I like your get-it-done style.
Nice fair review Beau!
Thanks so much Beau! I've done this for my pitt minion since your video gave me the confidence to do it!
Good deal! Glad it helped.
I’m going to try it on the NASB Goatskin Clarion, I messed up one and amazon actually took it back already, so I’m going to have to have patience this time.
@@matthewnowak3222 I think I will try it with my Clarion. Hard to believe how nice a bible the goatskin clarion is and they use such junk ribbons.
Thank you so much for this excellent video. I am definately going to swap out some ribbons since you gave such easy directions!
This tutorial of yours was quite useful! I've done it a few times already and it was successful! I still need more practice to improve though.
EXCELLENT VIDEO thank you so much. ☺️
I’ve always wondered how to make the ends of the ribbon stronger. Thank you. I will try this today if the Lord permits.
Great tutorial - Thanks!
Thank you!! God bless you and your family!!!
God bless!
Thanks!!! -I ordered the preachers bible and I think this will be the 1st attempt at changing ribbons.
Great Video!
I always add or change the original ribbons of my bibles. When the ribbon is still original, it is enough to leave the bible on a table, holding it firmly against the table and, carefully and calmly, pull hard on the ribbon, with it wrapped around the hand. Usually it comes with the headband together and just add the ones you want, gluing them to the spine of the book, and gluing the headband over them later. I don't even consider a tutorial (DIY) necessary because it is an extremely simple process (I believe that only someone who is very clumsy or has "two left hands" would get in the way of doing it...) ✋🏻✋🏻😂
I prefer ribbons with more sober colors that match the bible verse and the end-pages. I recently acquired a study KJV and added a BLACK, a DARK GRAY, a DARK BROWN, a MEDIUM BROWN and one in a DARK BEIGE shade, all them 6mm or, like you know, 1/4" and 5' long of bible lenght, glued side by side...
Sorry my pour english 🇧🇷
Very helpful, thank you.
Nice. I've been wanting to learn this.
My Crossway Thinline didn't even come with a ribbon lol. Looks like I have a project to do over the weekend. Thanks for this!
Thanks for the awesome videos. Do you have any information on how to do the headbands on a rebind?
Great vid!! Any suggestions on where I can find a NKJV New Testament in the quality book binding you used in this video?
Just cut it...
Got it. 👍
whats the black tool you used?
Did you change the ribbons in your Omega 80th anniversary edition or have someone do it for you?
Very helpful.Any chance you could do a vid on doing like 3 maybe 4 ribbons on a personal size Bible.
That is a good idea! Usually, when adding more ribbons onto a block that is not wide enough for the ribbons to sit side by side, I will let the ribbon overlap each other, but not stack completely on top of each other.
Beau Tate thanks, mate.
I just cut mine off and use paper for bookmarks. Ribbons are too fiddly and always damage the tops of the pages. I hate them very much.
Thanks for this. I followed your instructions and have two ribbons in one of my bibles now, but after a month I’ve found that there are yellow stains around where I left each of the the markers... Do you have any idea of what may have caused this? Not sure if it’s because of the humidity where I live, but the ribbons are of high quality. Has it ever happened to any of yours?
Never happened to mine. What type ribbon did you use? I use Polyester. I have seen something kinda similar using silk ribbon that has been dyed. Even though silk ribbon is a higher quality, polyester is preferred because of it's durability.
Beau Tate I believe it’s silk... They’re black ribbons, so it’s strange that the stains would be yellow.
Try to swap them for some very nice polyester. I am sure the yellow would eventually turn into a brown then a black if those ribbons are left in there long enough.
Beau Tate Thanks, appreciate the advice
Has anyone noticed that changing the headbands on the nelson bibles since they started their comfort print is harder to break loose than other bibles?
I've destroyed 3 nelson bible headbands trying to separate the headband from the block to install new ribbons. The other 15 bibles i did were fine.
