I would have add the 2nd glue step 1st so you don't have to get glue all over the ribbons.
So add the glue to the spine Spread it across evenly.... Then I'll go to the ribbons.... lastly slide ribbons into the Position you want press firmly and then you're finished with that all the extra hustle
