- @KitchenCounterCrafts 👀 Watch how QUICK & EASY it is to properly add a ribbon to your Bible! I bought this new HCSB Note-taking Bible at a deep discount because of the scuffs on the gold filter edge and the horrible ribbon. It was the perfect candidate for a Ribbon Renovation!
Glue: Fabri Fix by Beacon (Elmer's is just fine!)
Ribbon: 1/4" Double-faced Satin recommended - 1/8" is too thin and may damage your pages
(I got my ribbon from a garage sale and one from a craft store)
Also need: Scissors, a cotton swab, butter knife , or nail tools 😊 & a flame to seal the ribbon for strength and to keep from fraying (you saw what happens when they're not sealed!)!

Could I use my hot glue to place ribbon? New at this
Hello! Thank you for watching! Hot glue will work BUT it depends on your book. If it’s old, hot glue doesn’t tend to stick (the pages are brittle and dusty). If it’s new, it should work. One word of caution: don’t put a big glob on it. Try to get a thin layer on, let it dry and then pull on it to see if it will hold.

What if that part of the book is sewn to the pages? Should I just have the ribbons go over it?
Yes! If the headband or the endband is sewn to the pages (then you have a very nice sewn Bible!), you should have the ribbons go over it. You could look for a smallish gap between the spine and the band to see if you could use a toothpick or something to get a ribbon in between. If not, don't damage your book (although you can always glue the part back down).

You said you dont want glue on the book block, what part is that?
Thank you for watching! The Book Block is the stack of pages before they put the cover on it, so all the pages are in one block 😊hope that helps! Try it! It’s easy and my ribbons have been used constantly since I put them in!

I love the KJV! However, it can be a bit difficult for many to follow. I am more partial to ESV (my favorite) and NASB. I am grateful that the Lord has preserved His beautiful Word. Thank you for watching and for sharing the Gospel.
I honestly hate bible ribbons. They always jank up at the top, and damage pages. I would sooner cut them off, and buy some thin bookmarks. Or basically any other option. I just bought a premium nelson bible. And the 3 ribbons. Are too wide, and too thick to be useful. My KJV store Scoffield bible ribbons. Are thinner and skinnier, and dont have the same issue. But they are still a pain. And I would rather just throw in a regular bookmark of some kind in there.
You bring up some good points! If the ribbons are too wide, they are annoying! I’ve gone to thinner ribbons because I feel like they are less intrusive.
I love bookmarks so both are good ways to go.
