The community aspect of this event has made my heart feel so full watching this. With all that we have been through recently, watching people get together and support the local community through pies and meals supporting the local fire department. Along with the cheer coming from everyone riding and on the side lines brings a smile to my face to see positive, active and happy people supporting a fun event in our country.
I agree with you, I’m a person who hates to bike but the community and how it feels in this video makes me wanna do this and I live in Europe ^^ I can think myself planning my vacation for this just how the amazing it seemed
Towns along the route - it changes every year - go ALL OUT for RAGBRAI. For the overnight host towns, it's a lot of work, but a big party and a great chance to put your best foot forward. Also, fire departments and EVERYBODY can make some real money!
Kara shaving her legs using the fire hydrant with no shame and then watching the man casually fill up his water bottle after 🤣 Living for these long videos in the morning 💛
Apart from the fact you guys are amazing and inspirational, I would say most people have no idea of the efforts you go to for your video footage. Your multiple techniques, (the camera, the drone, the selfie stick etc) the editing, the absolutely amazing editing. The hours of filming, footage, editing, etc is tremendous. I just want you to know that when I watch your videos I can appreciate the efforts you go to. I applaud 👏🏼 you both. X
My brother does RAGBRAI every year and trains for months for it - and then is so methodical with his ride strategy that I wonder if he has any fun........so I love that you guys just plopped your butts on a bike and went for it and enjoyed all the hometown love that us Iowans have to offer. The fire hydrant shave will become one of those golden moments in your vlog history.
So glad Rick and Bec joined you guys! The six of you (plus the munchkins) are the ultimate travel team. Y'all have such a great vibe together. Here's to poor decisions!
That was a quintessential K&N vlog. Just enough focus on the environment to spark a travel interest to some of these obscure locations, but largely centered on their amazing personalities and world view. THIS is a great example of why they are so addicting. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

I loved this video! I am a native Iowan, and I love to see other people enjoy Iowa! It is a wonderful state, and yes, the people are really that friendly. And I love all the "Hey, look! There's some corn!" comments! We do have a lot of it. 🌽

I must admit for someone that only started watching about a year ago, I’ve really enjoyed this long series. It’s less about travel and more about the adventure, experiences and memories. Keep up the great work and can’t wait for you guys to visit Wisconsin. Thanks for letting us know. I didnt know there was such an award but definitely went looking for it to vote for them. My favorite RUclips channel ever.

Also amazing videos again Kara and Nate! I love the long videos. I keep coming back to these ones because I plan on doing this with one of my friends.

Oh my goodness! My team of 2 and I, I was the support driver/nurse, were there! This was was our 1st RagBrai too! We will be back next year! I hope to run into you guys if you guys do it again! Best adventure we have ever done and watching your video of your experience just brought back amazing memories of this summer and kinda made me emotional…
Great video! Frankie and Eve are adorable! Sad about the injury but what a great quote, "she hiked the entire Appalachian trail, pregnant!" Holy smokes!!! Can't wait to see the rest.
I have been waiting for you guys to post this. I have lived in Iowa most of my life. It is fun to see how others view this event. Ragbrai is just a part of summer here in Iowa. Small towns love when it comes through, it helps the local communities much. Glad you enjoyed your time. Can't wait for the rest of it.
Thank you SO very much for this. My best friend and I flew from New Jersey to ride in RAGBRAI in 1999. Sadly, he has passed away, and for that reason and many more, RAGBRAI is one of my most wonderful life experiences. I'll always treasure it. I can't tell you how many happy memories this video awakened. My favorite town was Cherokee, but, as you and others so accurately noted, "IOWA NICE" was alive and well all over the state in '99, and appears to still be going strong. SO many nice Iowans give so much of themselves to make RAGBRAI one of the stellar cycling events in the world. We met the original Mr. Pork Chop, ate a lot of that corn, met riders from Australia, Spain, and all over the US, and we drank more beer than we ever had before or since. Like you, we rode west to east and dipped the back tires of our bikes in the Missouri River before leaving on the first day, and dipped the front tires in the Mississippi River when arriving at our destination town. Long live RAGBRAI and the kind and generous people of Iowa who help make it happen! And of course, I'm happy you two have now had this great experience!

I just showed this video to my 98 year old father. In 1953 he and my mother cycled, on a tandem, towing a trailer, across Canada (Quebec to Vancouver) on their honeymoon. It took them three months. He thoroughly enjoyed this video!
This video made me so emotional! With all that’s going on in the world, to see such good and happy people is just what we all need to see. Thank you for sharing this 💗
This might be one of my favourite vlogs of yours (the "trans-siberian train" one will always be my favourite becase it was my first vlog of yours). Those two little girls are AMAZING, especially the one cycling with her mama and papa. And Nate I see you with your energy for two, keeping Kara keepin' on!
Kara where ever you are in the world reading comments and replying- THANK YOU for all your hard work and beautiful videos that I look forward to all week. I can see your editing skills getting better and better and better and better with each video and it is amazing you can pull this off with your busy life style. Your hard work is very much appreciated. ❤️
I laughed every time you said "Oh look, a corn field". Growing up in Illinois, we did that driving down to the south part of the state, or across Indiana, or Iowa. You have to be a little silly sometimes to keep your sanity.
I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I now live and work abroad and haven't been home for almost 2 years and won't be able to go home for another year. I have been so homesick and this has been the perfect thing. I'd never seen your channel, but I'm fully in now. Thank you for showing me all the great things I miss of my home state. I'll be returning to these videos multiple times. "Oh hey, it's corn!" "Wow" was an awesome running joke haha
As one of those who recommended Ragbrai to you several months ago, I'm happy to see that you took the plunge and were able to experience one of the most interesting athletic/cultural events in my home state. For anyone else now intrigued, Ragbrai is one of the best ways to see Iowa and its people/their generosity in my humble opinion. Watching ~15,000 people from all over the country (and from different parts of the world) invade the small towns along the route each day during the ride is a sight to behold. And, yes, you'll also get to see and eat all of the corn you can handle along the way. :-)
It was awesome meeting you guys out on Ragbrai. Your video has captured all of my own joys and struggles on the ride as well! So proud of you guys for kicking butt and smiling along the way! Hope to cross paths again in the future!
There’s just something about this video I love so much. I’ve watched every single of of your videos but I’ve had this one on repeat since it’s been out! Cannot wait for part 2!!!
So excited to see this adventure! My wife and I just spent the past two weeks binging EVERY past episode in order (during breakfast, at lunch and up until bed time)… and then we caught up! So we’ve waiting to continue the journey with you both.
Been waiting for this as an Iowa native! So glad you are enjoying the state. I live in DC and can attest to Iowa Nice being a real thing. Thanks for shining a positive light on a state that’s often overlooked.
This video makes me wanna do Ragbrai. Frankie saying she’s tiny in the bloopers cracks me up every time. It’s like she just realized it in that moment and had to let us know.
This is my favorite episode so far. I grew up in Iowa and never got a chance to do Ragbrai myself. Great seeing you guys do it, and I love that you get to experience how nice people in Iowa are!
@@lajams4 Very well, especially after watching such an enjoyable video. I was ready to start biking about 30 seconds in:)) What a wonderful party going on all over Iowa. Yep, apparently my birth name used a few too many letters, just joking of course. Enjoy and take care, Elizabeth James
Ok my favorite part is Kara showering in the fire hydrant and Nate being embarrassed and the lady says IT'S KARA!!? Lol that is how I would act to if I seen Kara doing that! 😂💜🤩💕🏖️
That was truly hilarious as Nate is trying to slip away like he does not know her, the lady yells that's Kara as she is getting showered in the town fire hydrant. Loved it!

I'm an Iowa native now living on the west coast. Not gonna lie, I teared up watching you guys have such a good time! The state has done some not so great stuff lately so it's good to see that 'Iowa nice' is still a thing.
Why? Fill me in please. I’m from Minnesota, and it’s not as great as it used to be here in the Twin Cities. Shootings and carjackings are a regular occurrence here now.
These types of videos are my favorite that you kids do. I especially like when Dusty & Sarah join in. AND BONUS!… Rick and Bec with the little Princesses Frankie and Evie. Love love love!!
So, two quick observations here (okay, three): 1) Super fun video never heard of Ragbrai, so that was pretty cool. 2) A nice suspension seat-post/s would have made a world of difference. 3) Lastly, a larger seat would also eased up on the pain and made life more enjoyable too... You get those last two and you are golden. Great job on the ride!
Great video!!!! Son in law and his wife tried to do this but 18 months in they found out it was baby coming! I told them to watch your videos to remember their fun times!
no one can understand my joy when they said rick and bec were joining them on the ride! the girls are so fun and this is gonna make for a great few videos:)
I’m seriously loving these adventure videos so much! I started watching all your videos from the beginning during lockdown in Sydney Australia (3 months in) and are now up to watching the new ones and they are really motivating me to start planning an adventure once we can travel again! Same! Raised Iowa nice as well!! 💕
Same! I am sure every Iowa person has helped with Ragbrai at least once in their life.
Kara's little "ugh PEOPLE being HAPPY in the MORNING" reaction is a whole mood, and it is me daily. Y'all are playing the background while I study for my first year of vet school, I've been a longtime fan & subscriber and you guys keep me going!
Best of luck to you in your studies!!

"Lower your expectations, and have fun." Sage advice for a good life!
“I don’t know, let me feel it” guy is a vibe
i love how everyone is decked out in cycling gear while nick the everest climber is in a button up polo with khakis like hes on his way to buy milk from the grocery store
Dusty was wearing long-sleeves and pants on the first day 😆
To him, it's just another day LOL business as usual
I just showed this video to my 98 year old father. In 1953 he and my mother cycled, on a tandem, towing a trailer, across Canada (Quebec to Vancouver) on their honeymoon. It took them three months. He thoroughly enjoyed this video!
This video made me so emotional! With all that’s going on in the world, to see such good and happy people is just what we all need to see. Thank you for sharing this 💗
I literally cried...Multiple times throughout. I also laughed out loud a lot 😂 and vowed to do this next year. What an amazing looking event!
@@cassijane22 lol, same, lots of tears and laughing! I too want to do this next year 😊
@@cassijane22 same! lol- my husband watched it with me and he was like...why are you crying?! Hahaha
@@indonesianprincess hahaha! I was asking myself the same thing!
The lives you guys live, the accomplishments, you’re so blessed.
I love this channel.
Always LOVE confessionals from everybody. It's especially special with little Evie & Frankie. So cute. Great job girls!!
Your guys life is unreal. These videos are so heartwarming & full of love. I love watching!! ❤️ The pure joy just makes me smile
It was awesome meeting you guys out on Ragbrai. Your video has captured all of my own joys and struggles on the ride as well! So proud of you guys for kicking butt and smiling along the way! Hope to cross paths again in the future!
I didn't realise how the 34 minutes went by. I felt soooo happpy watching this videooo...Can't wait for next oneee :))))
There’s just something about this video I love so much. I’ve watched every single of of your videos but I’ve had this one on repeat since it’s been out! Cannot wait for part 2!!!
The more we see of kara and nate the more down to earth they are .this is the best one so far...love it ..armpits and all xx
So excited to see this adventure! My wife and I just spent the past two weeks binging EVERY past episode in order (during breakfast, at lunch and up until bed time)… and then we caught up! So we’ve waiting to continue the journey with you both.
Iowan here and this was a fantastic view of our state and our people!
I’ve been parked on my couch with my iced coffee waiting for this!!! Cheers y’all!
Hiiiii Kara and Nate! I hope you’re doing well. Just wanted to drop by and spread some love on this beautiful Sunday! ❤️❤️
As an Iowan, thank you for sharing so much of our wonderful state and yep, Iowa Nice is a real thing!
I literally love EVERY single thing about this. I never want it to be over.
I'm rewatching this one after finishing the second...
This is my favorite episode so far. I grew up in Iowa and never got a chance to do Ragbrai myself. Great seeing you guys do it, and I love that you get to experience how nice people in Iowa are!
Good Morning Liz James, how are you today? Just thought I would say hello, since we share the same name:) Enjoy, Elizabeth James
@@elizabethjames3440 well hello, how you? Hope your having a great day. Yes we do share the same name, less an E and an a, I'm Lizbeth James. 👍
Gosh, this was a fun watch. Those kids are the best. "You smell like sandwich."
Kara is going to be such a good mom she is awesome with all the kids she Mets on there journey
Kara and Nate, Minnesotan here. Thanks for reminding me that the Midwest is pretty great. You’re so wonderful! ❤️
Great indeed ☺️
Ok my favorite part is Kara showering in the fire hydrant and Nate being embarrassed and the lady says IT'S KARA!!? Lol that is how I would act to if I seen Kara doing that! 😂💜🤩💕🏖️
if I saw
That was truly hilarious as Nate is trying to slip away like he does not know her, the lady yells that's Kara as she is getting showered in the town fire hydrant. Loved it!

Please post longer videos, They are the only thing I enjoy watching anymore. One day I binged 40 episodes, now I am rewatching your whole chanel!
We are HERE for some more longer Kara and Nate vids - love it as always guys 😍Kara + Fire Hydrant, the love story we didn't know we needed...
I just cannot get enough of your videos! There is something about you guys that make us sooooo happy! Every time we watch your videos, the aftermath is this lingering happiness and love ❤️
I so hope one day our paths cross somewhere in this beautiful world ✨💫🥰
This brings us SO MUCH JOY 😁💛

Kara's reaction to coffee on Day 2 is the funniest and most relatable thing I've ever seen. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm an Iowa native now living on the west coast. Not gonna lie, I teared up watching you guys have such a good time! The state has done some not so great stuff lately so it's good to see that 'Iowa nice' is still a thing.
I had the same experience! Makes me more proud of my state which has been lacking lately.
Yeah being an Iowan lately hasn’t been so great. But go Hawks!
Why? Fill me in please. I’m from Minnesota, and it’s not as great as it used to be here in the Twin Cities. Shootings and carjackings are a regular occurrence here now.
@@wtfminny The governor is terrible and uncaring, and people aren't as "Iowa nice" as we thought with keeping others safe during the pandemic.
@@laurentaylor7303 Oh really? Being "nice" like the *ss clowns in Illinois, New York and Cali?. Get a life.
When he said they haven’t gotten on a bike for the year I was like huh? The Colorado trail ? Come to realize that was a year ago … time flies
Yeah
Kara makes everything fun 😂😂😂 You guys are rockstars, I wonder how you will ever settle for a pieceful and normal life without adventures 😊
Thank you Kara & Nate ❤️❤️
I grew up in Illinois, midwestern politeness is very real. Such a fun bike ride! I'm doing it with my dad next year.
