Good interview, being a Wizards fan I watched John's career from Kentucky throughout the years in Washington, I was born and raised in DC, he did a lot for the community, I lived in Ward 8 so much respect for what he did for the people in that ward during covid, John was fun to watch, he hadn't broke his hand they would've went further in the playoffs

Roy never offered him a scholarship. Roy had a strict recruiting policy: he only talked to the player, the HS coach, & the parents/guardians. He was adamantly against communicating with AAU coaches & handlers. John had an AAU coach by the name of Brian Clifton, a former licensed agent, who was a central figure in his recruitment and he hated Roy. Roy basically told John separate from him or we can't do this.
Facts didn't wanna tell him the truth but that's what I respect about John hes always self aware and humble enough to see the writing on the wall b4 someone else does so it don't sting as much.
Loved John Wall at KY man, but 1 thing I didn't like about him was his work ethic. He could have been a HOF PG had he put in the work. Everybody always say he was more about the club than the sport itself.
