Let me know in comments if you like this type of content.
Have you tried to bench the PC with case cover removed?
MSI cooler?
Yes I like this content, you need to have a part 2 of this video.
The software I like best for testing is OCCT.
“Absolutely love content like this.” Looking forward to completion to this. As always Brian keep up the great work, mate 🍻 👍👍 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is one of the main reasons I began watching RUclips PC Tech creators. Any additional content featuring actual PC troubleshooting and repairs would be great.
More coming

Nice! 🙂
The reason why it’s so hot in that case is because of bad airflow. You have air coming in the front which is immediately being sucked out the side. I reckon if you move the radiator to the front it will cool down.
This was the optimal setup recommended by phanteks. I agree that it has poor airflow. I will be replacing case and hopeful CPU and Mobo are OK, if not, its an expensive case flaw
@@Britec09 Yea a bigger case with better airflow will really help a lot. The components are really close together and there is no where for the air to go.
This is so cool this is what, bring in IT is about loved the video keep them coming been watching you for year's.
Thank you! Will do!
A very good summary of why I gave up building my own PCs. So frustrating to get random crashes which, as your video shows, can be very very hard to track down. And you're an expert!!
Appreciate Brian you tackling & sharing not so common gotcha issues like this as it also helps so many techs professionally correct oddball system issues out in the field, or for private clients
great video britec, hopefully you can get to the solution of this problem and hope its not the main parts.
thanks for sharing
I hope so too
Fantastic demonstration on how to troubleshoot a desktop! Keep it up Brian!
Brian you may need to have a look at the pins on your socket as I noticed that one maybe bent when you was putting the CPU back on at the end. As the AIO looked like it was moving around the socket too loosely and you could have bent a pin
Must be camera angle, pins are fine
Ok Brian one thing I would like to know is if my current BIOS is out of date but do not have any problems should one just leave well alone? I notice you usually use AMD CPU's as opposed to the Intel ones so is there any advantages to use an AMD processor?
Another great tutorial, and well explained. You go Computer Tech man
I appreciate that!
@@Britec09 And you are so welcome. Your videos have saved me a lot of grief over the years.
one important thing.. BitLocker msg at 12:08 . make sure you have the LONG key available from MS account or printed to pdf and stored out of pc or on paper if the C: drive is encrypted w bitlocker.
or its a nightmare ahead if files have not been backed up..
When you were removing that AIO, I was just watching that pump block cover piece tumbling around those cpu pins on the motherboard just waiting for the worst...
its OK
Did you check the temperature of the cpu? My first guess with that airflow is cpu overheating.
Yes, never goes above 71C
It's worth considering the VRMs as suspect. Using water cooling means that they don't get any direct airflow and start to play up.
I had a customer with several dozen PCs using large passive coolers and when summer arrived they all started to crash. As a temporary solution I under-clocked the CPUs until I could order enough fan coolers.
I agree, this setup gives the VRMs a hot time.
once I install cooler, I will know if its motherboard or CPU at that point I will replace both, because I have no way of testing.
Your water cooler is upside down. The tubes need to be pointing down towards the bottom of the case. When you have the tubes on the top, the air inside the loop will float to the top and constantly get sucked into the pump block. There it will cause cavitation damage, coolant starvation of the pump and fin block, and reduce the life of the pump.
With the tubes pointing down, the air will float to the back of the radiator and remain trapped there, away from the pump block and pump itself.
GN has done extensive testing on radiator orientation, and tubes down is always the preferred mounting method. The next would be the radiator flat on the top of the case.
Good video my dude, very useful to know.
Appreciate it!
I'm not a fan of the airflow path in that case. In through the front and then immediately out through the side. The VRMs are probably 'sweating'. I'd take the side off and aim my big room fan at the board, while testing. I use a Corsair case that has the fitting for water cooling in the top, though I just use air cooling and have two fans there.
Can't wait to see the outcome. Good video.
You and me both!
My PC keeps crashing when I play games. It has nothing to do with overheating. I don't know if it has anything to do with my GPU, PSU, or even my case fans. I have an RTX 2060 and a 650W PSU.
Hello Brian, I wanted to bring to your attention that there have been numerous reports of faulty AIO cooling systems causing CPU overheating. This may be a potential issue with your build. Unfortunately, it's unclear who is responsible for these faulty systems. It seems as though companies are more concerned with profit than resolving the issue. It's suspicious that this problem has persisted for so long without a solution. Additionally, I noticed some anomalies in the CPU's motherboard pin-out. There are two areas that seem out of shape, but I couldn't confirm if they're touching as the focus wasn't quite right. It may be worth inspecting these areas with a magnifying glass. on the upper black side left top corner, and on the white side bottom left of middle.
check pins, they are find, probably camera angle, cooler has just arrived and if problem is still there are changing it, its down to cpu or motherboard or both
Great video! I'd almost guarantee it's Expo!
Nope, not Expo, one of the first things I tried.
Look forward to the results of the new CPU cooler, but the airflow in that case seems very circumspect
Is there a part 2? I invested my time and it ended like the movie Fast x
Yea It Looks verry crowded for that case, it seems starvation of airflow which is not good, you might wanna get a better or bigger chassis if possible !
Trying CPU cooler tomorrow
Possibly ESD fried if you're touching so many parts/conductors without an earth strap...
i have a weird problem too its random that firefox freezes and my whole pc freezes too. i dont know why i have memtest run no errors with ram memory. Fresh install of win 10 pro. but the problem persists but not always. any idea what causes that thanks brian good video. i have eset premium smart security. when eset runs disc test my temp goes to 74 then it drops i have a ryzen 5
900X but i hope thats normal i have a aio water cooling from artic freezer 360 ARgb. my normal temp in idle when watch youtube is 54 Celsius
Cool!
Thanks
After setting up a nice pc I bought from Quiet PC, Specs DB1a Fanless 1.5GHz Intel 11th Gen Core i9 11900T 8C/16T 35W 16MB Rocket Lake CPU + CPU. Rendering audio with software, it would instantly crash with reboot, after much troubleshooting, what fixed this for me was to change a bios setting. I Set "Smart Load Line" setting in bios to "Enabled" definitely Smart Load Line enabled in bios, solved this problem for me.
What are the expected costs? and sorry for your money ...
You should change the title as there was no fix.
waiting on parts, so it is fixed. CPU cooler coming today as mentioned and if it still does it, its either CPU or Motherboard, problem solved.
I agree, I was left in suspense, was if fixed was it not fixed? Was it the CPU? was it the Motherboard? I guess we'll never know
Irq , no less no equal can sometimes be mother board issue , bad or corrupted bios
Did I miss it, because the first thing I do is use Speccy to monitor temps especially on a custom build.
Temps are fine
Brian. If you have problems, what chance do the rest of us have?🤣👍
I know what the problem is 😉
what do you do if the bios freezes , and cant into it to fix? can get into bios, but it freezes, so can check anything
i have the same CPU Ryzen 7 7700 but my motherboard is Mag B650M Mortar Msy motherboard i have no problem with mine at all Brian my GPU is a GTX 770 and DDR 5 ram 32gigs dont know if that helps i did up date the motherboard when i bought it they told me to do it because of my CPU this is only about 3 months old now and no problems at all im using the original cpu fan
Nice, thanks for sharing
👍👍👍
Cheers
How about laptop like my lenovo it overheats and freezing, lagging
Will you ever do a face reveal
?
YES
@@Britec09 I would like to see your face too Brien.
I know when mine has frozen because the graphic light on my 4070 Ti stays one colour.
got an AK620 zero dark air cooler from DEEPCOOL and it works great for my 5800x and it's 260w max tdp is more than enough for any cpu you throw at it and it is am5 /am4 compatible without needing to change the original backplate unlike my old hyper 212 evo which is a pain to install on am4.
lol
great... however, what exactly does this have to do with this video topic??
ordered the dark rock pro 2 to test
I had to actually turn off Expo to get mine stable!
It did it with expo on and off.
Didn’t like the look of the fan layout, myself!
my friend has a gaming laptop here and when gaming it never gose beyond 65c
its never the cpu exept when its the cpu
exactly
you need a bigger case
I agree
It's good to suffer, because you don't listen!
I told you that you will have a water cooling malfunction problem due to incorrect installation of the refrigerator (inlet-outlet at the highest point = air pocket = malfunction of the entire cooling system)
I wrote to you: "If you can't turn the refrigerator 180 degrees, find a way to place the entire machine upside down" in the comments of the video you made this computer.
The point where the pump tubes are connected to the refrigerator is also the reservoir of the system in the closed-sealed liquid cooling circuits. So when you place the refrigerator chamber where the pump tubes are connected at the highest point, automatically whatever air is present in the cooling circuit is transferred there, creating an air pocket. Due to the low hydrostatic pressure at which the pumps operate in these systems (circulating and not pressure pumps) they are unable to suck in coolant with the result that they do not provide cooling and self-destruct due to a lack of coolant that also acts as a lubricant for their ceramic bearings.
