    I enjoy that you do your reviews in natural lightning. I can't trust any beauty gurus reviews anymore, because with their lightning everything looks good. And the way you zoom in is perfect, because we can se how it really applies.

    No matter what foundation you use, if your skin is not in good condition. Exfoliated, moisturized etc, it will just look patchy or cakey. Try face masks and an astringent. I just started using Amore Pacific's Enzyme Peel and omggg lol best ever. Korean skincare is where it's at :-)

      Same here. The verdicts are always spot on for me, personally (even though my skin is less oily as of late). So please never stop making these, Thrift Thick (Cassie)! So very much appreciated.

    Why on earth would people care if you're using a sample and not the full product? Lord

    • @LCx829
      @LCx829 8 лет назад +10

      because she didn't buy it? lol its stupid I know. I never get samples and wish I did especially since foundation I'm usually unhappy with.

    • @peachymanaangel
      @peachymanaangel 8 лет назад +96

      Using samples is a smart and responsible choice, there is no need to waste resources for a 20min video

    • @bridgetcollins4997
      @bridgetcollins4997 8 лет назад +12

      I agree. I do believe that is the purpose of samples. Right? Even with the samples, she ended up with the wrong color for her skin.

    • @chelitacorona2896
      @chelitacorona2896 8 лет назад +7

      it's actually smart to get samples cuz u need to see if they work out or no, but like in other videos it says that youtube made her buy it and I'm guessing people gets ticked off because she didn't actually buy it, so they rather have it saying that youtube made her try it, not buy it

    • @ReineDeLaSeine14
      @ReineDeLaSeine14 8 лет назад +5

      I don't know any others that use samples to do first impression videos but I think it's a good idea, especially when your channel is smaller...plus the time and gas to bring the wrong color back is a pain (or other transportation if you're me)

    I'm going to honest, you do beautiful reviews, and I'm so thankful for them! However (and this is coming from someone just getting my skin problems under control) you will never be satisfied with any foundation until you get your skincare routine locked down and your skin in shape. Paula's Choice is the jam! I took a little over a month not putting any makeup on my face and locking down on my skincare (one product at a time until you know how your skin reacts) I researched and consulted their CS, I didn't use anything else, made sure to wash 2-3 times a day. I'm sooo much happier how my skin is now. I highly suggest trying the no makeup, skincare out. You can still test out lippies and other videos, you can do weekly skincare updates if you are concerned about no vids. Try it! You won't be sorry! I also think you looked beautiful in this foundation, you often look more beautiful than you give yourself credit for. Work on saying positive stuff to yourself!! Love your videos and congrats on your growing channel! ❤️

    If you apply a super moisturizing lotion such as cetaphil or even a night cream JUST over your "crusty bits" they will look much better under foundation! And it will even cover better.

      Very true cassie! I have sebborhic dermatitis and i have crusty bits on my nose creases and between my brows and a thick moisturizer (at night) at the very least will help alot. Try lush moisturizers, theyre natural and are great for sensitive skin such as mine and yours.

    If you want something to really control your oil, Benefit just came out with the POREfessional Matte Rescue, and it controls my oil really freaking well. It's a product that you put on BEFORE your usual primer, for the sole purpose of controlling oil. You should definitely consider getting it! I think you'd love it. :)

    • @seherb912
      @seherb912 8 лет назад +1

      Is it worth getting if I already have the normal porefessional? I love that one but it doesn't stop the oils lol if this one fills pores and actually keeps you matte then I NEED it!

    • @CatitiaRowe
      @CatitiaRowe 8 лет назад

      +Seher B It's DEFINITELY worth it. Because of the new one's gel consistency, it naturally helps to fill in pores while also giving you some added oil control. You're actually supposed to layer the normal POREfessional on top of the Matt Rescue, seeing as the latter isn't actually a primer; rather, it's literally just an oil fighter.
      Plus, you get a crap ton of product! It also has this super nice, cool, and refreshing feeling to it. O:

    • @potato-whiz
      @potato-whiz 8 лет назад

      +Catitia Rowe do you find that the matte rescued blurs pores in the same way that the porefessional does on its own? Like if you didn't use porefessional with it?

    I was lucky to find my perfect match first try thanks to the lady at Sephora.
    My skin does get oily even with their matte step 1 primer, but I usually just put a little of the MUFE powder on and it stays looking amazing from morning to night.

    I got this foundation when it was released and it's ok for me. just okay lol. I've been mixing it with my born this way foundation just to try to use them both up. I can't wait until I'm finished so I can go back to my holy grail Urban Decay Naked Foundation. that's the best I've ever used for my combo skin :)
    annnnnd I love your foundation reviews. ❤️

    honestly, this foundation is for those who dont really have anything to cover up ;( im so disappointed with it! i was waiting for a review from Cassie for the longest time since she gives the realest reviews and im sort of relieved to know that it's not just me!

    One thing I love about ur videos is how real you keep it. Like compared to some other youtubers, your vids feel like you're watching actual person. Idk if that made sense but it just doesn't feel fake lol

    I love your reviews! They're so sincere and genuine :) it's nice to see someone who has similar skin issues as me test these products instead of watching videos of girls with flawless skin raving of how good a foundation is and to use their discount code lol

  • @RizGross
    @RizGross 8 лет назад +2

    So as a mua i can think of a few things that would really help with your makeup. First thing is that i really recommend you trying products that are suited for your skin type because you seem to try a lot of products meant for dry skin which I have. I absolutely love the UltraHD, its perfect for shoots but it does need a good primer to get the best results. I recommend a matte primer. you have oily skin and adding a hydrating primer will just make you oily. lol And they do carry neutral shades, I wear the neutral shades you just have to test a few more colors out. I think the 115 would be a much better color choice. Sooooo just try things for oily skin more.

    I love your videos! I always get so excited to watch the new ones you make where you try out products :)
    I get really bad dry patches on my face too, especially while acne spots are healing. I recently tried using the palmers cocoa butter face stick on them when I get the dry patches and it helps TREMENDOUSLY. It's literally a ChapStick for your face! I believe it's around $2.50 at Walmart. I'd highly reccomend it if you do ever want to find something that works for those skin annoyances.

    Cassie, I have to be honest here: I don't think any foundation looks good on crusty spots 😂 I find it's good to apply extra moisturiser or primer to those areas so that the foundation smoothes over it :)

    I was so excited to see you reviewed this! I'll pass on it as I have very troubled skin. I'm disappointed in the coverage for 2 coats and it didn't look any more natural than normal foundation, in my opinionated opinion. Emphasizing dry patches is a deal breaker for me as well. Thanks for the awesome reviews Cassie!

  • @jarkapilole793
    @jarkapilole793 8 лет назад +6

    Wouldn't the cakeyness be because u initially used a brush with round strokes to smear the foundation on to that side (including the dry spot) around the lip? The round brush strokes and smearing tends to lift dry skin causing the cakeyness and makes dry/flaky skin look even worse where as the damp beauty blender and pressing down motion instead pushes the dry skin flakes to lay flat/smooth and not get coated with foundation all over and under(which actually LIFTS dry skin) giving it that cakey look. If u actually do like this foundation I would recommend using the beauty blender from start to finish and DEFINITELY using beauty blender only with a dabbing down and not smearing motion on ANY dry patches with any foundation in the future for best results :)
    On a side note, I also wish there were more neutral shades of foundations. The yellow shades are such a no no for my complexion and the pinks leave me feeling redfaced :(

    I have super oily skin too and for my dry areas, I apply cocoa butter to it and then apply a primer and go in with my beauty blender and no dry patches! You should definetely try it! I got a mini travel size for like $1 and some cents at walmart (since I only use it on my dry spots) but definetely try!!

    Cassie, you can get a green corrector to make too pink foundations neutral, and/or a purple/blue corrector too make too yellow/orange foundation more neutral. Just mix a drop or two of the green/purple and you will get a more neutral skin stone. Just dont mix in too much that it makes the foundation green/purple ! Its just like mixing browns/beiges with paint :)

    I recently fell IN LOVE with the coty airspun translucent powder.... It keeps my face SO matte and nice looking/feeling all day and when I use an oil blotting paper I have little to no oil that comes off on its, it's really light and I think it smells good, some people would disagree though loI would love to see what you think of it! You can get it at Walgreens, cvs for $6 or I got mine from Amazon because I'm lazy and the container is massive ! Side note : I was at the store checking out makeup and before I bought something I asked myself... " did Cassie like this product" and I made a few purchases from your reviews!
