    I've got to be totalllly honest here. I've seen you test out A LOT of different foundations but so far I think this one makes your skin look the best! It immediately smoothed out your skin texture, covered redness nicely and we're so well compared to other ones I've seen you do. I'm impressed and am thinking about getting this for myself considering my biggest issue is foundation settling into pores and lines and making flakiness look so much worse! Thankful for all your reviews, lady! Good job!

    have you ever thought of dying your hair a darker colour, I realized the contrast of your beautiful light eyes and red lips (on the trying waterproof make up) with a darker shade of hair ( because it was wet) looked absolutely stunning on you

    Cassie you have got to do a "Let's Test" or a "RUclips made me buy it!" on the new Tarte shape tape concealer! 😊

    • @dianebranson8441
      @dianebranson8441 8 лет назад +5

      I just bought it and received it Friday. I am sooo loving it! Covers really well, doesn't pool in my lines (I'm 53) and it doesn't bother my eyes. A lot of concealers make my eyes water, EVEN THOUGH I TAKE GREAT CARE NOT TO GET ANY PRODUCT IN THEM. The product has a large doe foot applicator, which I like. I BLEND IT OUT WITH A BRUSH (theirs...double ended concealer--not specific for the product but I love their brushes and it was on sale. Same sale Cassie was talking about) and take it to my lower lash line. No further. I do "bake" with a colorless powder (RCMA) and I'm good to go. No creasing and it covers my MAJOR dark circles. I'm gonna buy another one for a backup. Good stuff.

    • @SulphurGalaxy
      @SulphurGalaxy 8 лет назад +2

      +Diane Branson based on your comment, I'm going to pick that concealer up and give it a try. I have really bad under eye circles and NOTHING covers them. I literally mean nothing. Can't wait to give it a try! :D

    • @dianebranson8441
      @dianebranson8441 8 лет назад +1

      +Cuppycake Kaylee I'm sure you will be happy. I seriously own about 60 concealers at the moment. Hundreds of dollars. I mix and match, etc., I am OBSESSED. I ALWAYS **bare minimum** wear: 1)concealer, 2)mascara, 3)brow gel/filler, 4) lip color and 5)setting powder no matter what or where I'm going, so these five items MUST perform!!. I'm on a mission to find my holy grail concealer and I'm really digging this one for so many reasons. Please let me know what you think!

      I have super duper dark circles (genetics) and the only thing that I have found that works for me is the Bye Bye Undereye from IT cosmetics. I love it, but I hate that it is so thick. If you try the shape tape let me know if it worked for you

    • @rei9817
      @rei9817 7 лет назад

      The Shape Tape is truest incredible! I haven't found anything with better coverage that really blends as well. A little goes a long way and getting the right color might be a challenge. So worth the buy though.

  • @JulesOfWisdom

    I didn't use a primer and just applied it with my fingers and was amazed at how it blurred pores, didn't accent lines/wrinkles and didn't emphasize flaky skin areas.

    • @madisonweber2480
      @madisonweber2480 8 лет назад

      I don't know what it is about my skin but any time I apply foundation without a primer my skin sucks up the "liquid" and leaves a streaky mess of pigment, it doesn't matter what moisturizer I use either.

    Later in the posts, someone mentioned that you should change up your style of your videos, your background, etc. I appreciate your realness. I get tired of watching ppl that started out humbly, or somewhat humbly turn into talking heads. I like your out and about's. I like the shots when you are out with your friends. You give us little glimpses of yourself and what you are interested in with a peek at flowers, the sky, the trees, and what you share, and still keep yourself safe and keep your privacy. I love your lil man, Galileo. I don't think I'd want you to change your format. Plus you already mentioned in a prior video that you are going to have a den area in your new place, and that will be decorated for your video's. With your FB button in the background somewhere. I know you have stuff in storage, but was wondering if you will be thrifting to decorate your new place, and might we see hauls? Keep being you, because you're very delightful, grateful, and just a complete joy! I love your humor too, when you let it come out.

      +Crystal The Minimalist Cat Mom I have to be careful with what concealers I use around my eyes because I suffer with dry eye and they're really sensitive so I definitely don't use drug store make up around them. • @sarahneuhaus3868
      @sarahneuhaus3868 8 лет назад +2

      The smaller brushes aren't as soft as the two bigger ones, so I would probably recommend buying just one? but I do use the small ones occasionally. They do get kinda weird after you wash them, so sometimes I have to go over certain spots with my beauty blender so it's not quite as streaky. Regardless, I use them daily!

    I'm really disappointed with the Tarte brand, they don't make light enough shades at all. A lot of high end makeup brands have finally realised that super fair women need shades also but Tarte dosnt seem to get the message even though I've personally wrote to them myself

    Although the darkest shade is deeper than many other companies carry, doesn't mean they did a good job on shade selection. There is a serious problem with brands creating 12 kinds of ivory colors and then having two shades that are 'dark'. Darker consumers are basically being told that their dollar is not valuable to that company, and Tarte Cosmetics have definitely been guilty of saying 'Oh, we'll make darker ones later, lol' after complaints, which is another problem that basically communicates that darker people are an afterthought.

    • @oopslonernope2135
      @oopslonernope2135 8 лет назад +38

      12 kinds of ivory colors? Darks and pales struggle in the makeup industries not just darks. All makeup companies cater towards tan skin I've only seen like one or two that have been light enough for me, tarte is not one of them. The lightest shade I got from a tarte foundation was 4 shades darker than my skin. So darks aren't the only ones with problems from the makeup industry. I enjoy watching Cassie's videos even though she's darker than me. I'd enjoy makeup companies to have a bigger range of light and dark complexions. But saying 12 shades of ivory is false and that's where you messed up because they aren't making ivory foundation they're making people who are tan foundations.

    • @chadr1856
      @chadr1856 8 лет назад +9

      I never said that only darker complections struggle with shade selection. Objectively speaking, it is much easier to find lighter shades than darker shades (by dark I don't mean someone with a peachy, tan complexion, I'm referring to those with skin that can be considered dark compared with commonly occurring, natural skin tones). Shades that are made for lighter skin tones often come in various formulations of a similar color, whilst darker base makeup shades often will come into shades. For instance, I was in a Sephora with my friends, and two of us happened to spot some BB creams from Benefit that we thought looked interesting. I'm relatively light, and the darkest shade could only be used as natural contouring on me. I felt so bad that my friend wouldn't be able to even consider buying one because the darkest shade was way too light, and for our race, she's not very dark. Tarte's BB Tinted Treatment 12-hour Primer SPF 30 comes in five shades; the lightest is in fair, the darkest is in tan-deep. One of Tarte's most popular complexion items has a shade that Beyonce may just barely fit into. I have been watching Cassie for a while and I know she has a hard time find foundations that are suitable for her light complexion. But when companies come out with Light, Tan (Medium Light) and Dark (Tan Light) it's sending a very clear message that those of darker skin tones are not even supposed to attempt to squeeze into certain shades because they are not being made for them. It is much easier to wear a darker foundation than a lighter one. Shade selection, in general, is an issue but when companies purposefully omit darker shades from their collections sends a clear message.

      +Lil dragon :Sydney faye: The Kat Von D fondation is amazing. I mix the lightest shade with some of her white foundation and it matches my skin perfectly. I can't usually wear foundation since I am so pale but this white shade is definitely a life saver for extra ghostly pale people.

    • @AkiAlchemicae
      @AkiAlchemicae 8 лет назад +7

      +Chad R just believe that pale af people have the same struggles - just because product shades are labelled as "ivory" or "alabaster" does not mean they are actually that pale. I can use the lightest shade of powder in pretty much every brand as a bronzer so yeah, make up companies really need to wake up and realize there are people dark as chocolate and people pale as snow. Would make way more sense to make some "extreme" shades imo so that people in between can mix and everyone is included.

    When you said "This is the lightest colour this foundation comes in" I groaned so loudly. Why doesn't anyone care about pale people?! My natural skin is about an NC10 and I even use half white foundation to get the effect I want. The only foundation I can imagine working for me without adding white is Kat von D's foundation in Light 42, but that's impossible to get in the UK without paying £20 or so more that it's meant to cost in the first place

      Which is just as bad too! Foundation companies here only seem to make pale orange, deeper orange, then an even deeper orange for "deep" skintones. I don't understand how it can be so damn hard for them to mix up a few more shades and sell them! I'm sick of seeing orange-faced people around.

    Hi, Cassie! Just wanted to pop in to say your face complexion/color/lack of breakout looks excellent in this review! Honestly preferred your look BEFORE foundation, lol. Not trying to sound ugly, I think you looked pretty after application as well. We spend so much money on skincare to have beautiful skin & then spend even more money to cover it up again. ♡

    Your foundation always looks good when u blend it with the brush and than as soon as u blend it out with a sponge all the coverage goes away. Not too sure why u do that.

    • @hopefelter5613
      @hopefelter5613 8 лет назад +6

      I know that when I put on my foundation with a brush it is super full coverage, but it also looks pretty bad. When I go in with the sponge after is does sheer out but it looks so much better on my problem acne prone skin.

    Girl, it isn't make up rules. It's common sense. If you buff and do too much movement with your brush is going to exfoliate the skin and make it look a mess especially on dry skin, you know that. Why are you so confused?

    It is only recommended to press or drag your brush in a downward motion if you have dry skin with any crusty patches. It helps to keep those areas smoothed down and not accentuated. If you have an oily or normal completion without any crustiness, buffing your foundation in circular motions with your brush should work out fine. Otherwise you might have to use a damp sponge to press the foundation into your skin and remove excess product to avoid cake face. I personally avoid foundation brushes all together and just go in with my sponge ( due to my horrifically dry skin😩). Thanks for the review! Love your videos!

      🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄Lol, just had to comment that I laughed so hard that you started this complement with "ugh". I think I understand your sentiment though...RUclips used to basically replace t.v. for me and now, with few exceptions, I feel like the makeup "gurus" here are so flippant!! Example: Natasha Denona. And no, I did not buy the $200+ eyeshadow palette that just about all reviews justified by breaking it down by cost per shadow that I couldn't use in a lifetime, lol! For me it's Cassie and Kimberly Clark....🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄🦄
