Jackson is also my favorite. My first guitar was a used dinky js11. It was in fair condition so it was $100. Jackson’s low end guitars are awesome and play well despite its low price. I recently got a Js32 Rhoads in ivory white. It sounds really good.

You're right, I have two Jacksons, a Dinky Arch Top JS34 DKS Silver Burst and a Dinky Arch Top JS22-7 DKA HT. The JS34 was $330 and the JS22-7 was $200. Despite the price, the guitars play and sound great, surprisingly well in fact, and the build quality would surprise you. No fret buzz, no sharp frets, matter of fact both have rounded frets and just altogether a well built guitar and great platform for modding. Yes, they don't feel as premium as my ESP, but I would recommend these guitars to anyone. I've always been a fan of the look of Jackson guitars, but now that I know I love to play them as well, I'm definitely looking at X Series and Pro Series.

Jackson guitars really speak to me. the overall quality of their products is great. They may be owned by Fender nowadays, but they still offer quality guitars in every price range. I hear you on Jackson! I'm knocking out my classic guitar dream list I got left to get (2 Les Paul Customs- 1 vintage yellow white- one black, 1 Les Paul Goldtop) before I start on my modern guitar gear list (a black Jackson USA Randy Rhoads RR1, a black USA Jackson King V, a white and gold Randy Rhoads RR3 V, a black Scott Ian Jackson V, a black USA Jackson Soloist, a Jake E Lee Charvel, a black Aria Pro SB- 1000 ii, a black Jackson Dave Ellefson bass 4 and 5 string). I too was 13 back in '90 and have dreamt of these guitars since then, and now have finally gotten to a place in life to where I can finally buy my dream gear. I do have a black Gibson SG Standard, a black Gibson V (converting to a Kirk Hammett Gibson V clone), a sunburst Les Paul Standard, USA Fender Strat, USA Fender Tele, a Grestch Tim Armstrong, an orange Gretsch Electromatic with Bigsby, a Kirk Hammett Ouijia copy, a Fender Hellcat Checkerboard Tim Armstrong Acoustic, 3 USA Fender p basses (one white, 2 black) a Fender Duff Mcagan p-j bass, a Gibson Thunderbird, and a ESP Surveyor Bass with Frank Bello EMG's. A Marshall half stack, Ampeg SVT amp with 4x10 cab, Fender Rumble bass amp, tons of pedals, a Pearl Drumset. Other gear on my list 2 get are a Fender Steve Harris bass- blue, a Geezer Butler bass, a USA Jackson Adrian Smith, a USA Music Man bass, USA Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe (like Geddy Lee), Gibson J45 acoustic, a USA Martin Acoustic, a black Gibson Explorer, a Sunburst Gibson Firebird, and building a Mick Mars and a Dave Murray Strat, and build a Steve Vai "Jack Butler" Jackson guitar from the movie Crossroads. I get inspired and excited seeing other folks collections. I don't have hardly anyone to gear talk with in MS, so this is where I get alot of input. God forbid trying to find folk to play classic punk rock or Old School Thrash anywhere here. They all wanna play either Skynyrd or some 3rd rate Nickelback. At least one good thing getting older is finally being able to get a good guitar- gear collection going. Just takes some $$$

If you’re open to suggestions, you might want to consider looking out for a Japan DK2S Jackson dinky with the Sustainiac system on the used market. Though it can be “gimmicky” when used poorly, with good technique it is undoubtedly one of the most tonally versatile axes I own.

I have Gibsons, Fenders, Ibanezes, a Kramer and now a Jackson. Originally I was looking at some older Charvels but somehow a specific Jackson attracted me. The Kramer I have is a Pacer with SD JD/ Jazz pickups, both humbuckers and an Ibanez Jem with Evolutions with a single coil between the humbuckers. I was never a fan of Flying Vs or Explorers so wanted a Strat shape as most "Super Strats" were in the 80s. But now I wanted a pickup combo of ONE humbucker and two single coils. I narrowed it down to a Jackson Soloist or Dinky. I tried one of the new "crackle" finished Jacksons with the S/S/H combo but it was made in China. What crap! The neck had NO taper. Had the weirdest feel. The pickups had ratty and thin distortion. I really wanted a Soloist with the neck thru body as the best ones are USA made. The bolt on Dinkys were cheap! Then I snagged a Japanese Dinky in some blue Deiss finish with an SD Distortion and two SD Single Coils. After lots of adjusting its simply my fave 80s poser guitar! Rock on Jackson!

I just got myself a Jeff Loomis Signature Series "Jackson Kelly" made in Korea, and I have to say the guitar is pretty amazing, the only thing is his signature series pickups are "Seymour Duncan blackouts", I mean they pick up every little thing and I had to put foam in the back of the trem springs for the tremolo because they ring through the pickups as well. Easy problem to fix, there's no need to buy new noiseless Springs just a thin piece of foam behind the Springs did the job, it comes with a Floyd rose 1500. The only difference between the Floyd 1000 and the 1500 is stainless steel pins and lock nut screws. Beat the hell out of it and stays in tune great though. Oh... no case or gig bag so i had to get a hardshell case for it. For that price it should come with a case. Other than that the guitar is pretty amazing $1,599 and yes that is the most I've ever spent on a jackson through the many years I've played them. I always Frankenstein them out, new trem, new pickups so on. Can't afford the usa model. It's a all around solid guitar though for anyone thinking about it. Great craftsmanship too. The white binding around the ash top body/neck is really well done. Going to stick with the black out pickups for now, but may change to black winters, or EMG'S. Yet to decide lol.

There was no damage to the guitar the packing worked. Loosened that string put it back in the bridge tuned it up and hated it!!!. I was disappointed. Was gonna send it back when my son said set it up the way you like before you return it. It had 12s on it.... Nice video and its cool you did some guitarist history. I'm about to get my very first Jackson. Its a Black and Gold RR24x. The seller upgraded the pickups to gold EMG 81 and 85 Actives. All the hardware is gold. Tuners, Floyd Rose bridge, volume/tone rockers and the pickups. I'll have a blast and start doing divebombs

I love Jackson guitars as well but since early 00 they've gotten prohibitively more and more expensive. I remember scouting used SL2H's for $1000-1500 on ebay around 2005 when I was in high school and couldn't afford them. Now that I can there is barely anything below $2500 mark and we have to pay nearly $1000 for Indonesian models. I would even pay that much for Japanese model but the Indonesian models are nowhere near that built quality. Prices are stupid and unfortunately nowadays the only guitars that are worth buying are those internet brands made in Korean factories or used deals. That's the only way to get your money worth.
edit: right now indonesian X-series is more expensive than Japanese Pro-series in 2005. That's just sad.

don't ever buy overseas jackson nothing against the chinese but they can't build gutiars
to me guitar maker needs to give a fuck about the wood and how they al come together and jackson builders achieve that very goal
that and of course wood and hardware so it's a combination of a bunch of things

@@dclxvi4963 They make guitars according to whatever companies pay them. If the guitar costs pennies then there is no wonder it's not great. I'm ok with Indonesian made ones however they are too expensive IMO.

I own several really awesome Jacksons too. One of them is one of a kind Jackson Soloist made by Mike Shannon (with Kahler trem), then an old Archtop Soloist (old type of top curve and neck heel shape), an SL2HMah, DK1, and a KV2 made of Korina.

i recently got daves signature Kramer Vanguard which is pretty much a King V but Kramer (kramer being my favourite guitar brand other then gibson) i was all over it and its the sick green rust in peace colour way , 24 fret 25.5 scale length (which gibson never does lol)

My first guitar was a 2004 yamaha that my dad got me at Sam's club. My first jackson was a 2006 js30rr. It was fucking sweet and good quality. The body was alder and neck rosewood and it was supposed to be a budget guitar but I still have it and cherish it. I finally accomplished my goal back in 2020 of getting a 97 rr3 that was made in Japan. I love it but it needs alot of work. The licensed floyed is worn and the stock pickups and wiring have seen better days. I have very recent jackson guitars as well such as js32 dinky with a fake floyd and a js32 king V that is string through. For budgets they are not the cream of the crop in quality but for the price they definitely get the job done. But I will never pay more than 500 for that quality.

I purchased a slightly damaged (cosmetic only) Adrian Smith Jackson USA. Hands down one of the finest musical instruments I ever purchased from anywhere. At the time, About 7 years ago, it was 1700 dollars US. Haha couldnt touch a broken one for that price now. Clean tone, I mean it nails a solid fender Strat in the neck and middle positions and shreds with its Dimarzio super distortion in the bridge. Combined with a 5150 head and marshal cab, I am pretty cleanly able to get most 80s and early 90 rock sounds from all the classics with it. Beautiful fret board with its abalone (I think thats how its spelled) pearl inlays and a truly one of a kind satin neck. I have two other Jacksons, a RR3 and a SL2Q( that frankly doesnt sound all that impressive) though my RR3 still maintains excellent tone on clean and with overdrive. Over the last couple of years I have started looking into another Jackson and was astounded at the price increase. Unbelievable cost now, thanks to the all the ridiculous politics of the state of California. 4 grand to touch a USA and they dont even offer the RR1 anymore. I have considered doing a custom but oh my gosh the price of a Jackson now is just stupid. They are on the verge of loosing me as a customer if they dont move and find somewhere to manufacture.

    • @paulorageshreds
      @paulorageshreds  2 года назад

They have started producing out of Japan again. Not sure if a new factory or the old factory up and running again.
They have their new Concept series and MJ that are made in Japan. X and Pro are mostly Indonesia but some are apparently made in China. I was surprised by some Chinese made Pros reported here on RUclips. Part of the reason I started steering away from Jackson. And likely why high resell on used models now too
