except because of toei, the animators can almost never have the conditions for doing that, that's why The One Piece will be the anime of the gods, it is not going to have the same restraints of the current anime and it is going to be a truly great anime
@@San-lh8us feel like toei is one of the few studios that gives this much creative freedom. That's why fans can easily recognize animator's styles or spot "easter eggs" in the animator's works

theres more to kuzan then just him betraying the marines. Hes got to be an undercover spy
I still think Kuzan is playing the long game and plans to betray Blackbeard at some point. Even if he’s not an admiral anymore, I think he’s still following his brand of justice

Despite being stabbed through his stomach Garp is still capable of going toe to toe with his former pupil. He's definitely Luffy's grandfather and "Hero of the Marines".👊🏿

This episode made me understand garp a little more. His son and grandson’s chose to rebel against the navy and his apprentices were like family to him who he felt he could relate more with. Being forced to fight kuzan hurts worse than the stab wound he has.
Garp being a D might be a factor as to why this keeps happening. Even if he’s working below the “gods” the D. clan one way or another will find a way to go against them whether it’s intentional or not
Man, the animation of that small flashback is so fluid.
It's pure CGI. And is as fluid as diarrhea. A virus that it's spreading to all anime produced at today to make it cheaper, and frankly characters move like mannequins. It feels like nails in the eye. Computers are working harder than animators xD

The little gestures in this are incredible! The papers falling, Garps expressions. They really studied movement for this scene
Such a beautiful sequence! The flashbacks building up Garp's frustrations with his family walking away from his ideals followed by the latest, Kuzan's betrayal. And the music to accompany this sequence, the animation, the quick flashes of the bond they shared in their youth...A Galaxy Impact to the feels!!!
I also like the added Ohara section of the flashback showing the beginning of Kuzan's disillusion with the marines that led him to where he is now

Question on the flashback we see kuzan smiling but it looks kind of that sinister smile. So was he always planning on betraying the marines?

The animator who did 0:32 till 0:47 is called Mehdi Bengoudifa. Beautiful work and he also left some very fun details
The staff and the freelancers really love this series because you don't bring this level of character acting to a TV anime, let alone a weekly anime.
Character acting is a very underrated aspect of animation, and the large majority of anime barely have it since it's not appreciated enough by the average viewer. Its purpose is to give the characters a soul and make the scenes feel more impactful. One Piece continues to impress me with this.
This did the opposite of it’s intended purpose.

Probably but Akainu is pretty strong too. He kinda took a Quake punch from Whitebeard and completely fine afterwards to fight off the commanders
He has old garp level strenght, remember that Garp is really really old, older than Big Mom or even Whitebeard, he probably lost more of his original strenght than the 2 of them. So kuzan being comparable doesn't make him highest tier in strenght in the verse. If he had been comparable to young Garp, that would be a different story.

When thay said that the main animator was living until the aukiji and luffy fight I started to get worried bit after this episode you can clearly see that there is nothing to worry about and btw It was totally worth waiting another week for them to release the episode thank you toey animation for this beautiful episode

That kind of animation was impossible back then. You didn’t see anything like it in 1999, or even in the 2000s, except maybe in movies by the early 2010s. By the mid-2010s, it was mainly seen in movies, and this type of animation didn’t really take off until the late 2010s, starting around 2017. But yeah, I get your point-I would have loved for Zou, Whole Cake Island, and Wano to look like Egghead.

Garp is one of those few remaining Marines with a sense of honour and empathy for the common people. The Navy would be a much darker place without him. Luckily, his moral code and ideals live on in Koby, Helmeppo and his other trainees.
The fact that this is an itachi situation makes it all the more hurtful. Garp thinking that Kuzan has really defected, meanwhile Kuzan has to make it look as it he’s really living the double life. I have a feeling garp’s gonna die and Kuzan/Koby have an utter rage moment.
Garp: What I did wrong?
Me: Not your fault, man. Aokiji is voiced by Takehito Koyasu. Chances of him betraying you due to this fact alone increased 100%.

oda is such a master of writing that in just a couple of chapters he made garp live upto all of his hype -despite the fact that garp isn't even in his prime- that was built since the start of the series.

The attention to detail of these animations is insane, looks like a ghibli movie, the fluidity of Garp face expressions is top tier, both him and Kazan had a special treatment (same as his first encounter with black beard) bravo to animators
