    When I started( 1972)you tied off if you wanted, with only a belt and lanyard. In 2020 you would be wearing a harness with the lanyard coming from the upper middle of your back. 100% tie off, or you get run off. It was damn inconvenient, but the rule.

    I am a boring structural steel estimator now, but was an Ironworker first. Local 155 then relocated to Local 229. I would list everything this guy did wrong, but many of you beat me to the punch. The Spanish phrase for these guys is "No mames wey puto"

      @@zackjay71 ok so you mean breaks as in NYS law mandated 15 minute coffee break , and also lunchtime of 30 minutes ? Those breaks, which we work a 7 or 8 hour day, 7-230 (7 hr) or 7-330(8 hr) , the extra 30 minutes is to make up for or 30 minute lunch break jacka** ! In Union construction in NYC there are no free passes no free breaks ! You are just a scab weasel Zack go back to wherever you came from!

    First thing i notice your partner needs to get off his ass when handing iron. He can make it 10 times faster if he stabs you. Second your bolts aren undressed and ready for a quick first connection. Third, you should tooled it from the backside or put your foot on the bottom flange of the piece to help rock it to slap a bolt through. Fourth, don’t be scared to use that bar of yours, and fury I hope you were first to the hook. Y’all made a simple web connection seem like a mid splice connection lol

      As a Union Ironworker (Local 512 Twin Cities) I’ll tell ya, dude woulda got ran off the site QUICK for not tying off 100% of the time. Companies ain’t risking OSHA fines or Lawsuits anymore for someone taking unnecessary risks.

      Great? These guy did an absolutely horrible and unsafe job in this video my guy. I would not live in this building knowing it was built like this. Companies need to stop trying to save money by hiring low wage immigrants and just hire union.
