Wow! My dad was an Ironworker for 42 years (Local 17 Cleveland) and now I have an excellent representation of the hard work he did. Respect and admiration. Thanks for all you do!
I go to my iron worker apprentice orientation in a couple days. Thanks for giving me a birds eye view into what I can expect. Thanks for sharing and thanks for what you do.
There will be much more than that!! Set your heels for hard work and good times if you want good times. You must think long term if you're getting in the union. Pension, annuity, insurance, chance to advance. If you are willing to travel you can make 150k plus , it's all about what you want to make it ... good luck 🤞
Back in the day when I was setting (connecting) iron. That yo-yo had just started to be mandatory. We use to ride the Headache Ball and the pice that we were going to set next. Rode a HEADER BEAM FOR THE BOILER THAT WAS I THINK 10 TONS WITH 50% BOLT UP BEFORE WE COULD CUT IT LOSE. FROM ABOUT 50' ELEVATION TO I THINK 125' ELEVATION. DONE SOME COOL 😎 AS SHIT HANGING IRON.

Well typically the blueprint shows, but it's also called reading the iron any decent connector can do it in most situations. Lot of structural jobs are setup so beams go on the west side and south side of the clips or maybe east and north.

I'm a rodbuster. Never have I worked structural iron but to be honest it doesn't look that hard. But what do I know I'm just a stupid rodbuster right
Since you got first connections, throw the bolt in no spud needed. You'll be even faster than you already are. Nice technique 👌
