Sorry…senior moment! I started sketching and painting a few years ago and have turned out some OK bits and pieces. When I first encountered your tutorials, I thought I would never be able to do anything like what you do. I have managed to sketch and paint most of these examples, even the sweet peas! I can’t thank you enough. You are an absolute inspiration to those of us who have little talent but really wish we had more.

Peony flowers are my go to for any art work that I add flowers to, normally it's portraits of my own pets that I like to add roses and peonies.

I use to make cards by turning older cards into a stencil Shading the back side with pencil and then going over with pen and colors. Now I am working on furniture, and I believe I can paint on my peices as opposed to the price of transfers. Brushing up on my techniques. This is an awesome teaching source. Thanks.

You're the watercolor whisperer! Talking us through our art therapy... Seriously this is such a great way to approach a composition by laying out basic shapes until you have something you like and then going in with the details after you're satisfied. Excellent tutorial!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Parts of the stamen: long skinny part is the filament, and the oval at the end is the anther. Within the anther is the pollen sacs. The stamen is the male reproductive part of the flower.

You are so magical! I am learning so much. I personally LOVE adding the detail...even though sometimes it can be intimidating, it's when the blob becomes the actual THING and it's really satisfying to see the transformation. This is a wonderful video breaking down a more detailed view of these flowers--but I also love watching you paint and seeing you balance detail with whimsy and FUN.

Thank again for the inspiration. Just moved into a new apartment and have turned the dining room into a complete art studio. It’s been several weeks since I painted and this video is just what I needed.

I love this. I plan on bringing my pens and paints on vacation so I can relax while I draw these flowers.
You make it seem so simple!
Love them all but especially the anemone.

Love the sketching of flowers. How can I choose a favorite? They all are beautiful and all in their season are my favorites! This will be my Sunday project today. I love what you do, Kristy. Thank you.

This was just SO helpful! I'm mainly a digital character artist but I want to expand on my art by learning more nature elements. And of course, Flowers are so pretty if they're added to anything!

So I tried sketching a peony with a mechanical pencil as you suggested and then painted with your dagger and Mozart wc. Not bad! I can’t believe the result and I am so happy! No…joyful! I have watched this video several times and feel much more easy about it. Your Joyful book is so helpful as well as referring to the Flower book. Looking forward to receiving your palette because who could resist that beautiful tin and quality watercolors! I have resisted trying watercolor for so long! But your videos, books and brushes have helped me gain confidence. Thank you!
