Fireweed!!! I'm from Alaska and it is by far my favorite flower....but challenging to paint! I think the Larkspur in this video is helpful, but the Fireweed has a very unique center with a cross-shaped little frill thing. Perhaps you could help me learn to paint my cherished flower?

@@KristyRice No, but I will. I love mixing on paper as it always does gorgeous things. I don’t always remember to do so, and I end up mixing on my pallets. I think that your mixing on paper is what makes you so unique!

Wow Kristy I sure am glad I found your channel. I have been wanting to learn watercolor but have been so overwhelmed. You make it easy. Not only that but you're not just a painter. You are a poet, a prophetess and a color romancer all in one big package. I can't believe you held me captive for 50 some minutes. It seemed live 5. I myself am a poet with over 20,000 poems under my pen. Now I want to paint my poetry with different scenes. I am really interested in painting abstract faces and wierd looking bugs. LOL Well anyway I will be watching way more of you.
Not only that but you like totally inspired me to start a RUclips channel and present my poetry as artwork. Wow never thought of that before! I have way too much word art to share with the world and its been sitting in bags for over 10 years. Love your personality. You deserve all the success in the universe!!!!!!!!!! Steve J.

I started water colour painting of flowers a few years ago. I just watched RUclips to help me understand some of the basic techniques, but your videos have helped me understand that there’s a lot more to learn to make my paintings better. I am 78 yo and painting keeps me busy and hopefully from getting dementia later on. Thanks so much for sharing your videos and ideas. I loved all the flowers that you painted and hopefully I could improve my painting specially on daffodils and carnations which I tried painting before. I just taught myself how to paint and need to learn more. Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🙏💕💕

I just found you the other day and have been watching your videos. My cousin said you were full of life and that I would love your style!. She is right !! I love listening to you and so feel like a sponge trying to get this to all make sense. I am new to painting period. Want to learn watercolor and Acrylic both so my mind is racing to say the least. I just ordered your brushes even though I have a bunch of brushes, but none like your so I though ok, I need the proper tools to learn with, so I will have them Thursday, along with the paper you are using. I did not have any watercolor paints, so I watched your video on all those brands, and decided to order Paul Rubens set of 35 5ml tubes lol and I don't even know if I will like it. I am sure I will. I have been drawing with colored pencil and graphite for almost 3 years now, and I am ready to take on painting. I so look forward to learning from you and I am slowly working my way through your channel. any tips you can give me would be wonderful. I am so nervous about it like getting on a horse for the first time !. I am playing some with my watercolor pencils. I know that technique is totally different but it is easy on the nerves lol

Thank you for this! I've just discovered you today! I've learned so much from this one video - and I've watched many many others. Your reminding me of using color & more color & more color is great! As a beginner it's easy to get "stuck" on one color... but the beauty of watercolors is that blend of colors. And your side instructions inside the video, i.e. leaves, teardrops, etc. are so helpful. Really glad I found you! Can't wait to see your others... but I just had to stop and write. THANK YOU!

Oh my goodness! This is such great practice for me because my internal struggle is perfectionism and rigid organization. My spice cabinet and pantry are alphabetized and everything in my closets and drawers are like soldiers at inspection. When I first saw your watercolor palette, my internal voice said 😱!!! I cringe and tighten my shoulders when I accidentally smear one color over another. 😂 Oh, wow, I have a long way to go in regards to relaxing and “don’t worry about that drop of water. Turn it into an amazing leaf.” Your style of teaching is perfect for me. I’m so insecure about every stroke and color blend. My one art class was in college. As an elementary special education major, I had to take the beginning Art 101 class that the Art Majors and Fine Arts Majors had to take. Our professor was a perfectionist - and my grade reflected my inexperience and inability to create acceptable, (to him), assignments. That “2.0” on my formerly “4.0” GPA took a couple of years to bring back up, and it felt so unfair. Of course, compared to those amazing artists, I was a fumbling toddler; but I felt demeaned, and inept. It kept me from continuing with painting and coloring kinds of crafts. You are helping me get through the PTSD that class gave me. Thank you so much!!!

Hello Kristy. You are addressing my very problem. Being loose. Just let it go . Make squiggly lines. This is where I have the problems. Not being uniformed. Not making little copies in a row. And if it does come out differently then I think it looks stupid and try to get rid of it.. I love you spotlight instruction. Up close and personal. Seeing the actual brush do what its suppose to do. Very good. You are a keeper. You really do understand us newbies. And you care that we do a great job. Thank you so much for all you tender care…….

Dear Kristy, I just found U. I mean the new line of watercolor U. I have your coloring books that are lovely. I came across your page by accident, as am in a block, have not been painting for a month. Said I need a refesher course in flowers 🌺. And there you were doing a tutorial about how to paint 5 or 6 flowers step by step. I fell in love with your approach. I am a very loose watercolor artist. Not to good at times, not to bad at times, you no how it goes. But you dear Artist are doing a banger job.Now after all that my question is are you going to show us all the flowers, most of us are in need to refresh. Well I will not keep you any longer, as I have Subscribed, and must get back to Kristy,s Paintbrush, by Love.

I have recently come across your chanel and I have painted one flower per day. Some have been amazing, some have been utterly dogshit, all have forced me to paint more loosely and artistically. I feel grown, like I have grown a bit more as an artist and learned a massive load of new skills. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this. I'm a rank 81 year old beginner to be sure but I see here what is possible as I gain skills. I just love it and have been learning from U Tube videos the basics. At this point I need better brushes and paints to work up to paint some of these flowers.

I have just begun learning to paint with watercolor, and I feel there are so many rules, but I am truly enjoying the journey thus far! I was following along with your video and when you started painting the daffodils I was right there with you - up til you painted 7 flower petals on it. your photo example even shows 6 outer petals. I only know this as I was learning to paint daffodils years ago while I was painting rocks with a group. I always liked to look up photo examples for my subject, because I try to keep whatever it is, to be an accurate representation of the painting I paint. I just wanted to tell you about the six petal phenomenon that are daffodils. I will continue watching your videos, I enjoy your enthusiastic style of painting and teaching. Thank, you!!

I don’t pay attention to those type of details all the time. Still looks like a daffodil so I’m happy. I’ve found it so helpful on my journey to start with a reference photo for an overall vibe but I don’t continue looking back at the photo as I’ve learned this causes me stress and steals my joy.
It’s funny this video has been popular but also has garnered so much concern for how many daffodil petals I included and my non-morning glory type leaves. Interesting phenomena!
      Thanks so much for watching!
