sevi seviyurun! (sorry this is Turkish learned 50 years ago.} I was very lucky. I was an air force child and my mother became friends with 2 sisters who were determined to teach my mother how to cook. You remind me of those times. We were in Adana and we were one of those families who became involved with all our Turkish friends. Oh, Allah, we had such times! You cook like I remember the sisters. Nothing commercial, all home Made and vegetables bought from a man with a cart outside, even picking the bugs out( a Long time ago).
I already cooked this Ayşe and it turned out great! I made a couple of adjustments in the recipe. I added spring onion and I added white bread as a filler! It turned out well! I am pleased! A very nice dip is either Yogurt or Sour cream with Garlic! Glass of white wine in the evening or a nice glass of Turkish tea in the morning! God Bless a great recipe!
Thank you so much. I am German and have lived in a predominantly Turkish neighbourhood most of my life. I moved to the UK a few years ago and one thing I really miss is the Turkish food. Your recipes help me recreate a lot of my favourite dishes!
Hi! MY pleasure. IT is nice to hear you got influenced by Turkish cuisine and want to keep it live. Enjoy my recipes and you might want to visit Turkey as well 😊
Ayşenur, I wanted to find some Turkish recipes to cook, in memory of a Turkish dear friend that I met in Paris when young, we were going to the same school to learn the French language. I have some lavas flatbread and this recipe is perfect. I like your style of cooking, very hommy, you are so natural and easy to follow. My mother used to make gozleme for us and I always loved them. You took me back to fond memories, thank you!
@Mickey Mouse That's true, we have several recipes that are from the middle East. Even green beans, I grew up eating them in the Turkish style and didn't know that. We (Italians) were a melting pot just like the USA are these days, so this shouldn't surprise anyone. What I think is that once you tweak a recipe enough it becomes something else although very similar. Ancient cultures were blooming in the Mediterranean and Middle East, so it's very easy that many things come from them, just like China had a great influence all over the Far East.
I have been making the Bosnian version of Borek for many years now (taught by a Bosnian friend) but I can say with absolute certainty that my daughter will prefer this version. She is a serious lover of all dishes with cheese in them while the version I make is a mix of cheese and potato or meat and potato, neither of which are particular favourites of hers. Thank you very much for this recipe, and cooking it in the pan rather than in the oven is so much faster. Could quickly be made as a lunch dish on a cold day. Take care, Stay safe, and a happy new year to all.
tesekkurler aysenur hanim..my family also really likes borek..im malay from malaysia and my husband is a turkish mix marriage ..your videos always inspired me to learn more turkish meals..love it
What a timely tutorial! My family loves borek, but it is too expensive at the Turkish restaurant for the amount you get, that and my oven is not working. I will make this tomorrow when I go to the store for cheese. Tesekkur ederim, Aysenur! I really enjoy your videos, and always learn so much. xoxo Tima
Thank you for showing how to make this delicious dish! A dinner guest recently brought some and it was so good, I really wanted to learn how to make it. I'm glad it's not too complicated or intimidating! 😅
This was the first time I attempted this. I made it with onions, sautéed mushrooms, fresh spinach, mozzarella, and feta. It was amazingly good. Thank you for inspiring me to try something new. 😊
Assalamualaikum my dear sister Aysenul, you brought memories back by making these lovely recipes. I am so eager to visit your beautiful country again and enjoy the lovely food but due to Covid it has been put on hold. Jazakallah khair for sharing with the world.
Something that I love about this channel is that she does not only show meat based meals but has more variety. I met a “Turkish” lady who I asked if there were many varieties of meatless foods and she said no.
A few weeks ago when I went to Turkey I had breakfast with borek and was amazed by the taste, when I returned to my country I tried to make borek. Thank you abla 😇
Fantastic recipe. Love your channel. I have to admit I was a little sceptical but but was nicely surprised. One question, where can I find that fab cleaver you used in cutting your Borek with?
These all looks so delicious. Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring. I’m going to make one of these ASAP. I am still out of town for the holidays, otherwise I’d make it tomorrow.
Hi Mrs Altan that looks very delicious! Tomorrow is my Christmas party 🎉 from work and one of my coworkers is going to make borek Albanian style, but definely will try to make yours Yamm, yammy!🇺🇸😀

The recipe looks delicious, and I am sure my family will love it. I have the same blue set of blue Corelle that you have, which is more than 30-years old. It belonged to my mom and she has been dead more than thirty-years.
