  • This is how I prepare and do my coffee in the morning and also how I finish off by doing a “fast cleaning “ of the machine.

      I appreciate your kind words .
      You always encourage and help with recommendations which is very nice.
      Sometimes it is hard to see the small progress one does each day.
      I’ve watched one of the earlier videos I also can see a progress 🙃😊, I am nowhere near an expert but am very satisfied so far.
      I am really enjoying this and it is also more fun to be able to share with other enthusiasts like yourself 😉🙏🏻
      May I ask , what detergent do you use?

      @@nadus7775 me too. I was just reading about brass boilers having lead(harmful to health) in them which is scaring me away from anything but stainless steel. the Elizabeth has stainless steel steam boiler and brass brew boiler. other than that; everything else looks amazing on the Elizabeth.

      @@NAWAF-vc1px Elizabeth Brass boiler never exceed beyond 95°C so I think it's save. That's why they opt stainless steel for the steam boiler. And I suggest using soft water to avoid scaling in your boilers

      Haha , I did the same journey and had really the same thoughts.(real anxiety for several weeks).
      I am soo happy that I did not buy the machine because of the features.
      You should really buy with your heart and not because of the features, trust me.
      Of course it is your decision in the end but you really want a machine that is joyful to use and will keep you always wanting more.
      Just the build quality and the turning knobs themselves are a few reasons why I chose this machine.
      Before I had decided I narrowed it down what these features really did in real life scenario… not much.
      BUT, if you really are a person that” test the hell” out of pre infusion settings 😅, then I can understand why you’d want the Elizabeth. But please don’t only buy E because of its features. Imo that is not a good thing. Go with your heart.
      Good luck and keep me updated on how it goes 😎✌🏻

    Can you make a video from your scale , did it have a Auto Timer function??? I’m searching at a scale how start the timer automatic when the first espresso comes

      I actually turned off the auto timer since I start counting from when the water touches the coffee/at pump start.
      But it is still nice thing to have if I would change my routine 👌🏻

    Hi … how many grams of beans have you grinded and which strainer 14-18/18-21 have you used?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  2 года назад

      Hard to remember now.
      Depending on the beans I dial in the grinder settings between 1-2 mostly when the coffee has gotten more mature after 5 days I have it set to 2.
      I have 18gr basket and a vst 20gr riderless basket.. I normally use 17.5-18gr or 19-20gr of coffee.
      Do you have the same setup?

    • @machtrebel2317
      @machtrebel2317 2 года назад +1

      @@AzizIzgin I usually use 18gr as a reference amount and the rartio 1:2 for the volume @25 sec. I learned that my Mara is not giving me a good brewing pressure with 18 gr - because of the distance to the brew head?!? Now I use an additional puck sieve and this gave me always 9 bar of pressure an keeps the brew head clean of coffee powder.

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  2 года назад

      @@machtrebel2317 wow !
      I can relate to the brew head not being clean and having problem with grinded coffee actually in the cup often which makes the coffee taste bad(not always though). Good research!
      Can you provide a link ? I’d be happy to buy the sleeve you mentioned.

    Why do the pre infusion? The MaraX already has a slow preinfusion built in?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад +3

      Actually both yes and no :)
      When speaking to Lelit retailers regarding the slow build up of the pressure, is not considered as a” real built-in pre infusion even though many people call it that and think of it as a “pre wetting pre infusion “.
      I have just evaluated some berms with a “5 second pre wetting “ and it seems as if the taste is better with some beans that I buy. I also noticed that my first drop came out a bit faster, around 8sec instead of 10-12 seconds which is awesome due to a longer “visual extraction time”
      But to answer you question, then yes… one do not need to pre wet the coffee. I like to try out different methods you might say. For example… the rules 25-30 seconds extraction time is mostly correct but sometimes I exceed it in purpose depending on the bean.

    Are you in brew or steam priority mode?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  2 года назад +1

      Brew mode always.
      I have now learned to make a second flush on the steam wand just before I brew my coffee. If I want to speed up the pressure this helps.
