  • I want to show how easy and fast it is to froth the milk with the Mara X just by tilting the pitcher to the side and at the same time towards you slightly.
    I don’t have much experience and can still manage to do it.
    The bar is also ready fast after the shot is done at 1.5bar and I am still in "espresso mode"

      🙏🏻 appreciate your comment:)
      Now after 2 months I actually do this a bit differently… I don’t have it as thick and I sink in the wand much much quicker to stretch the milk more and not insert too much air as I showed here.
      But I am learning everyday really, it is very fun and a real pleasure to work with this machine.
      What drinks do you usually make?

    Nice latte art 👍 I read that Mara X could get temperature issues when you do cooling flushes between the extractions. Can you confirm that this makes it too hot? I just have a PL42 and think about this machine for a while 😍

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад +2

      Just to try to answer as good as possible without misunderstanding. I have never had any issues with temperature while doing cooling flushes when the machine has heated up properly and I’ve waited for the desired time. Just to be clear, I haven’t so far used any thermometer either. BUT, the one or two times I have noticed a “temperature change “ is when I’ve gone away for a while and come back to do a shot... Then when I do the flush, it behaves like a” standard hx machine “ when the water is too hot” and steam comes out of the brew head while flushing, .
      This never happens when I do back to back shots even if I do the flushing in between the shots.
      It is only when having left the machine and “ it does some kind of cycle” at that particular moment. I haven’t learned exactly when this happens yet but I believe that there is a schedule for this.
      Dave Corby reviewed it and wrote this, also Lelit themselves I believe.
      I have now bought the bottomless pf and the vst basket and will upload more videos. I must say I do not regret this purchase, it is a fantastic machine and it is a joy to work with. So when thinking of the time before I got it, when trying to decide between Lelit Elizabeth or Mara... I am really happy I chose this machine. It is more fun to use imo.
      Let me know if you have any other questions and how it turns out for you

    Hi, do you find it annoying using the water spout having no room beside the lever?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  Год назад +1

      No, never.
      Although I thought about it before I bought it. In real life it is positioned quite ok imo, I put the cup “outside of the machine “ with a scale underneath…
      I think it is pretty nice being able to pour water in the side like that 😊
      Also, I do not use is as much as the steamer.
      My ONLY disappointment is the squeaking from the leaver EVERY time you do back flush with chemicals…
      Then you’d have to lubricate it… even if I put less chemicals.
      Some people say that the natural oil from the coffee would lubricate the leaver again but that is bs 😅.

      I’ve had it for a year now and every is a joyful day to make coffee “with her”.
      It is a wonderful machine and have been reliable for me. I strongly recommend this machine if you don’t mind HX machines.
      Good luck my friend and let me know how it goes 😎👌🏻.

      @AzizIzgin  Год назад

      I’m really sorry but I have no idea. I’ve had it for such a long time . It is enough for 2 cups of cappuccino.
      I’m planning to buy a smaller cause it is a bit of waste. Also it is sometimes good to have a spare to pour over to for mixing the steamed milk with.
      If I remember I can go home and measure the amount of water that is needed to fill it up.

    Why you are not using your grinder timer?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  2 года назад +1

      This was a while ago…
      When I change beans so often the timer also has to be changed
      In this video , my main goal was to show the steaming part of the machine, so I had not set the timer , I just went by feeling and filled the basket to the top.
      Nowadays I weigh the coffee in beforehand… even then I don’t use it cause I have it on until the hopper is empty 😅🙈

    How do you descale the boliers?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  2 года назад +2

      The Mara X only have one 1,8L SS boiler and if you use water softener all the time it is not necessary to descale the boiler…
      The whole idea is to avoid it unless you really need it depending on the water where you live.
      If you need to do it just RUclips “descale Lelit Mara x” and Lelit themselves show how to do it.
      Hope
      That helps!

    Did you open the steaming valve to the fullest or just a little bit?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад

      Good question, this was a while ago but I think it was to the fullest but don’t really remember :)
      The speed of the steam really depends on how you time the pressure and also the amount of milk in the jug.
      Now my routine is better and the power is not a problem( even though it wasn’t before either).
      I got detergent for steam wand with the machine delivered from Lelit but haven’t used it yet… if I suspect it gets clogged it would be a good thing 👍🏻

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  Месяц назад

      😅🙈
      I really don’t know. When watching this I feel a bit embarrassed sometimes don’t know why. Maybe cause I have different technique now and that I didn’t think of some stuff at the time.🤣
      The jug was a bit too big and I didn’t time the pressure correctly but it is a journey everyone makes .
      Have a nice day!

    you are using the distributor the wrong way, that's why it's not flat. Twist it the other way and it will be flat

    Your grinder has its own wdt tool, it is inside the chute indeed , called ace system by the eureka. So you dont need to stir with your wdt but ofcourse it is up to you.

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад

      True and thanks for your comment. Although the purpose of me mixing it with the tool isn’t necessarily for removing any clumps in the grinded coffee, it is just so that when the coffee hits/enters the basket, that I then will flatten it out… just making it less of a “mountain in the center” of the basket.
      I can do this process without the tool, then I’d have to stop the grinding more times just to tap the side of the pf. It will have the same result but take more time (for me at least).
      I thought of using a funnel instead but haven’t really tried mine yet. So the answer is that I use the tool so it won’t get too messy with coffee underneath.

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад

      Ohh, sorry… I see that you are watching one of my older videos where I don’t have the” real “wdt tool.
      Lately I am only been using it the same time as when I grind into the basket as explained above.

      ☺️ I don’t know why I added it, I think I saw some other video with music… although when I think of it the other person did not speak as much so then it is better to have the music…:)
      You are right, thanks for your comment.
      The frothing today looks quite different. I sink it way faster and the microfoam is a lot better. Practice really helps.

      @@AzizIzgin Haha fair enough. I've been thinking for the past month about getting the MaraX after having a Gaggia Classic for a year.
      Do you ever steam your milk at the same time as you're pulling the shot?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад +1

      @@Alan-lb8ef Awesome, I also had the beautiful GC ver1 :) .
      Yes, I steam at the same time . Not always, but I do it. It depends on what mood I am in . It doesn't struggle with, it handles it pretty good. But of course you have to know the machine a bit, I mean, it is good that you for example when walking up to "her" that you purge the steam wand just before you remove the pf for grinding the coffee. So during your grinding , it will have time to build up the pressure that is neccessary for steaming and brewing at the same time.
      However, when buying such a classy machine, the ritual of making a drinkbased coffee has become different for me, I mean, I am not in a hurry, I rather plan everymoment perfectly meaning that I I have to wait for something I do something else in the mean time... (sorry for my bad English).
      Don't know if we've talked before but before my purchase I was a bit afraid that it would struggle if making shots back to back and steaming, but it handles it good imo. I still haven't cleaned the steam wand with detergent though in over a month. I am starting to see a bit difference in power at the manometer, that it decreases, not much but very very little. So I think I should clean it now :) .

    • @Alan-lb8ef
      @Alan-lb8ef 3 года назад +1

      @@AzizIzgin Ah I understand, you enjoy the experience of the machine so you don't often rush things by steaming at the same time?
      I hadn't heard of using detergent for the steam wand but it makes complete sense... I've always just made sure to wipe it down well each time I steam milk.
      Yeah I usually have to make coffee for 3-4 people, and the gaggia classic does struggle a lot by the 3rd-4th person's milk. I'm guessing the MaraX handles that mamy people absolutely fine?

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin  3 года назад +1

      @@Alan-lb8ef First question , the answer is yes, although I also enjoy pushing it a bit just to test its capabilities... and when I want to feel like a real barista :) haha,
      Regarding detergent, Lelit actually has it in the box for the steam wand, I also purge and wipe it right after using it.
      Question 2, the past week-end I served 4 coffees back to back, 2 milk based and 2 espressos with now problem. Keep in mind I do not have so much experience as many others but when you have gotten to know your machine I really don't see this as a problem. Also, are you planning on making 4 milk based coffee drinks or or black coffee? I would not recommend doing "large black " with the machine since it takes too much water out of the boiler at once... maybe as one last drink out of 4.

      I have stopped, although I never touched the bottom of the basket.
      I now have a wdt tool instead. But really, I now only use the leveler from Lelit... and don’t even use the wdt tool.
      Thanks for your comment 🙏🏻
