I did a Deep Dive solo campaign with Bosco as soon as I got my copy. Ended up completely overwhelmed by swarms in the fifth mission. 10/10 will mine again. It's a very good board game adaptation and as someone who has played the video game since it was in early access, I'm impressed all around.
@@Ember-k7w USA and mine was one of the first to arrive back in December according to comments on the Kickstarter. I was genuinely surprised as I'm usually always one of the last to get any particular Kickstarters.
Knowing the video game myself I can 100% agree on that. They did a great job adapting it to the tabletop. They also avoided making the game fiddly and long winded which was a good call. Fast action is what the game is all about.
Ok i missed the kickstarter, but did go online to buy a copy last week. Does this mean im last in line, and might get mine in a couple weeks to a couple months? Not sure how these things work.
Awesome video, great production and all! One note on the leech attack; you can NOT do a reaction shot yourself against enemies popping up like this (but Bosco, the sentry gun and other dwarves can). Also, you forgot to move the Mactera Spawn after the last swarm :-) Other than that, thanks for explaining things so well, and showing so much of the game. - Ole (the designer)
@@FireCrack83 Thanks a bunch! Hopefully, not only for fans - it's a fun, action filled dungeon crawl, even if you are not familiar with the digital version :-)
When you mined the pre-placed morkite and nitra from the walls, I believe you were supposed to turn those into open spaces (you just picked them up). Thanks for the video! I'm just starting to play as well. I hope you record some of the more advanced missions in the future.
Awesome video! I received my copy in February and finally got to play it a few days ago. The group loved it. I had a friend say it was his new favorite co-op board game. I think that’s pretty high praise from someone that hasn’t played the video game. Rock and Stone!
Got the game today and played 2 missions with a friend. The 2nd mission was merciless, that amount of crap we had to deal with. Swarms progressed very quickly, 3 spitballers, 2 nexus with one pretty far back that spawned a lot of glyphids but the room also had a praetorian and was covered by a spitballer. Another praetorian spawned and shortly after a oppressor that got us stuck literally between a rock and a hard place. Won only due to some lucky upgrades. We finished with only me the scout surviving and having to leave my buddy (engie) behind. 11/10 game, would get almost killed again.
Creators of the boardgame have said they'd like to do a retail version but it might not include stuff from the more premium version form the kickstarter. So instead of the nice minis of the bugs you would get cardboard stands. But thats assuming they do a retail version at all, they might not
If you would like to try and have a computer capable of running it try Tabletop Simulator. Theres a version of the boardgame thats been uploaded on the Steam Workshop that you can try for free barring the cost of buying Tabletop Simulator. Either that or find someone local who owns a copy
A little worried cause I haven’t gotten a message for it shipping yet, but hyped to get my copy when it does ship. I love the game, so I’m sure I’ll love it on tabletop too.
as someone with over 1,000 hours on DRG (had it for 5 years now), it's kinda weird to see someone play DRG without knowing about the game. but hey, hopefully this gets some people to check it out.
Great presentation, very detailed gameplay, and, obviously, the game itself, as its videogame parent, is awesome!:) Can't wait to get my hands on my copy, hope it will be as soon as possible:) Thank you for the great work, made my evening!;)
haha! There’s a lot of benefits to be had between board games and video games in terms of using IPs. As time goes on the tabletop adaptions of video games get better and better which is a big plus.
Thank you, and you do not know when the dubbing of the board game will be released in Russian leng? Will it come out at all in connection with the world situation?
@@RollingSolo My copy is being professionally painted these days, and as I am a big fan of the computer game, I can't wait to get it on the table... The cravings got even stronger after having watched your video ;) But at least I have a good understanding of the game flow now, and feel ready to teach ... soon ;)
I like the overview and everything but I noticed some flaws and misinformation. The Hazard levels go from 1 - 3 in the board game version. The cube that you move when the swarm threat is increased isn't the hazard level of the mission as all missions have a preset Hazard Level for them. 1 being the easiest like in the game and 3 being the hardest which in DRG its the middle difficulty not the highest. As the game goes on, and the swarm threat increases with more swarms coming but if the cube gets to the end then the game is over regardless. And the minerals that are in the walls, you're supposed to put a open space bit there in place of the empty spot. But overall, this is a very Rock and Stone video.
You said that you can only play solo with Bosco and 1 dwarf or use all four dwarves. Where'd you get that information? The rulebook says you can use multiple dwarves but doesn't say anything about all
Hey just Wondering at around 58min didnt you use 4 actions , 1 to move 1 to kill grunt 1 to move to Wall 1 to mine the Wall :) good playthrough anyway 😊oh your the driller nvm your alowed to go through Wall 😂
Really great overview! You explain stuff very well. That said I think you made an error with the flaming ground early on. I don't have the game yet, so I'm basing this off the manual that can be downloaded from the kickstarter page. Forgive me if it changed in the final printing, but it specifically says "The creatures won't attack or move through the flame tokens". They won't walk in to it and be damaged as you stated.
Hey Andrew! I’ll take a look into this but played it based on the rules mentioned which state of it’s the shortest route the flames would do damage. I’ll look to see if there’s an exception for them to avoid flames. Cheers!
@@RollingSolo Oh interesting. I can't wait to see the final version of the rules. I actually like your way better. I always thought the "in progress" version was weird because it made in impenetrable barrier.
@@Wezmon73 Well, creatures will not walk into flames and thus hurt themselves. They will have to move around the barrier, if possible. The only way a flame wall can hurt the creatures is if they have to be placed on top of a spot with flames, due to spawning rules.
@@RollingSolo Don't worry about that, your videos are always great! Just had to express some of my frustration because I am actually a big fan of the videogame and it pains me that I feel taken advantage of.
