Chef pointing out to Bard that he gets to re-roll 1's because of the stealth unit assistance is the kind of sportsmanship and fair play that makes me love games like this, and channels like you.
Listening to this while painting models is very entertaining. I can't see what's happening half the time, but I do hear all of the commentary, which sounds like it's Pinky and Pinky's Clone having a War40K battle against each other. Absolutely brilliant!
I believe that will be faq before long as a typo. The shas'ui, does not earn the markerlight keyword unless you choose to take a markerlight drone. Something most everyone does I'd guess, but can be overlooked. But if you look at their gear neither the Strike or Breacher teams actually start with a markerlight.
@@maijin007Shas'ui have always had the option of buying a marker light in all previous editions, that's where the marker light keyword comes from. While there are some likely typos across the hundread of datasheets GW had to update at once, I don't think this is one of them.
@@maijin007 The Marker Drone gives units without the keyword the Markerlight AND allows you to act as an Observer even if you Advance. So while the Markerlight keyword might be redundant on various Firewarrior units with the Marker Drone, the ability to both Advance and act as Observer is a unique benefit.
Strike teams have the markerlight keyword on their datasheet meaning that even without a marker drone you would ignore cover. They keyword is what grants that not the drone. The drone just grants the keyword and allows for advance and observe
I winced when I saw the puretide engram neurochip in the list and that wince was confirmed shortly after: it only lets you use a stratagem that's already been used, it does NOT let you do so for free, making it objectively terrible.
I winced a lot at this list in general. Riptide, strike team, puretide chip, and then saying tau has lots of anti tank when that's absolutely not the case.
Great battle report. Think the Tau are going to try out a bit more optimised list to stop their youtube battle report losing streak. I think they are 1-7 in 10th edition battle reports. Less strike teams, probably no riptide and some cyclic ion blasters on the crisis suits.
I've never played tabletop but have minis that my boys and i paint together. I love the lore of orks, world eaters, and what little there is of khorne blood pact. Your channel is always great. WAAAGH!
I've seen one, not surprisingly it was Richard Ziegler. Ghost keeps sitting on objectives forcing the enemy to come into range, which allows the cyclic ion blaster crisis suits to obliterate the closing enemy units. He was also using Tetras which are brutal observers.
My current ork army is a Hunta Rig/ Battle wagonz, pressure list….but a few Kustom Boosta-Blastaz with their annoying (for the opponent) rivet Kannonz…look very Tak-tik-Kool….
Apparently the Tau has quite small choices of anti tank weaponry, but it should be very efficient... all those guys hits on 2+ - Broadsides with railguns (BS4+, but from heavy while stationary +1 to hit and guided gives them +1BS sooo its stacks :D), Stormsurge - same, and Hammerhead too. It is nice thing :) even if overall I don't like my beloved Tau in 10th edition :(
Hooooogrider! Whoooo! This is great guys cheers! My boy (13) and I play Tau/Orks trading back and forth - our first goes with 10th edition have been excellent so far. As an old Rogue Trader geezer I think this is the slickest reboot both in terms of quality of kit AND marketing - amazing to see what's possible now and look forward to lots of fun games!
Listening to this audio, I feel like I'm watching one of those hyper-edited videos where it looks like there are two of the same person talking to one another. Like that Ben Shapiro vs Shen Bapiro video. I love this.
note to self. No riptide. A third riptide and another commander led crisis team (enforcer) may have allowed the forward motion needed to get some primary and not fall quite so far behind.
Yeah, I didn't have high hopes. The Tau durability has tanked too severely. I don't think GW understood how important having drones that could absorb shots was to the Tau's ability to simply stay alive. Then to top it off, Battlesuits got downgraded to vehicles, in the universal special rules wipe, which gives them a weakness to a whole swathe of new anti vehicle crap. And probably worst of all, despite doing all this, despite Battlesuits being vehicles now, the suits that really matter, didn't get the durability buff that just about every vehicle in the game got. To be honest, it seems obvious what GW was doing, and as such that they're not gonna fix it soon. They shifted the Tau meta onto the few models that did get the increase to toughness, the ghost keel, the the riptide(though less so), and now the Tau'nar, with toughness increase and massive points drop, they're trying to sell stock that wouldn't sell before because of the meta before, and the consequences are taken out on the rest of the army, and therefore the players who had everything except ghostkeel riptides and Tau'nars(this also extends to tetras and piranhas btw, they also got the toughness increase)
Thank you for doing this. It helped me catch some stuff I missed on my read-through of the 10th Ed rules. The Tau army rule makes no sense to me at all; your interpretation is how I imagine it should work.
Wait you can have two shield drones on EACH crisis suit? I thought it was two for the whole unit. I can see why you didn't put all the models down, but I kinda wish you did just for the spectacle of 12 drones in a bubble around the suits.
Any particular reason why the 1 wound warboss didn’t get tank shocked by a devilfish? Would’ve been far more reliable than trying to gun him down with overwatch
When the Warboss killed the Devilfish, he fired his combi weapon as well as his luggas. Ya can';t do that!!! Sluggas are pistols so you can fire either these OR the combi weapon.
Aw, man. I got sent to this video because I searched for a batttle report with a gargantuan squiggoth. No gargantuan squiggoth. Don't suppose you could just take an hour or two and whip one up real quick? Just a quick gargantuan squiggoth for the next batrep? Just a real quick tabletop standard 30 minute gargantuan squiggoth.
Overwatch requires 6 to hit or am I missing something? Also noticed the warboss used both his pistols and kombi weapon, isn't that not allowed due to the pistol keyword?
do you deploy deep strike/reserves at the same time? confused on how orks are able to shoot tau crisis suit if it isnt tau turn to deploy deep strike?? anyone clarify thanks
The Strategem 'Rapid Ingress' allows you to deepstrike a unit at the end of your opponent's reinforcement step. So Bard deep struck the crisis suits in Chef's turn.
Hahaha that distant shout from bard in the ork list 😂😂
Made my day!
In this battle report, we focus on what will happen if both sides roll almost exclusively ones!
Riptide has the "Weapon Support System." It can ignore modifiers to it's hit roll. So you didn't have to take the -1 to hit.
Yup we both missed that. Fortunately it didn't make too much a difference 🙂

It even applies to when it degrades. He still shoots base 4+ due to the WSS.

Fire Warriors have the Marker Light keyword. So when Strike Teams and Breacher Teams are observers then you actually do get the ignores cover rule.
