    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Adventure Game is a 1-4 player co-operative game of adventure and exploration across Skyrim. Players take the roles of heroes involved in epic quests, working together to defeat their enemies and exploring the vast expanse of Skyrim. You will be able to choose character miniatures like the Khajiit, Nord, or High Elf; plan your strategy with weapons or spells; and fight your way through forgotten mines, Draugr-infested tombs, or ancient Dwemer cities to find ancient treasures and increase your power.
    The players must keep an eye out as the threat increases across Skyrim as Dragons, Daedra, Trolls, and more roam the lands and wreak havoc across the holds. Players need to work together to keep the lands free, whilst balancing the demands of their most important quests.
    The base game is divided into two campaigns of three chapters each. The decisions the players make from their first turn have a distinct effect on the unfolding story and encounters, making the whole campaign experience different every time you play. You can even save your progress after each game and start the next chapter with the same character, equipment, and skills.
    With the numerous choices of characters, gear, magic, and skills matched with the many decisions each player makes through their quests, there are literally hundreds of hours of gameplay, with some stories not even seen based on your early decisions. The face of Skyrim can change during the game, impacting the course of the players' experience in subsequent chapters. At any time, the players can simply reset, choose another character and play style, make different choices, and experience things differently. Alternatively, pick a chapter that sounds fun and drop in to just play that adventure as a one-off."

    I received my copy. It’s a really good game. It’s refreshing to have a very light in-game timer (Threat), instead of having the gameplay loop so tight where you’re forced to min/max every decision in order to win.

    • @ogreman2229

      Exactly. I absolutely love how different it feels than any of my other games.

      I agree with this. The threat (timer) is manageable but not so restricting to feel like an annoyance that stops you from doing what you might want to do. I like it!

    Extremely good walkthrough/tutorial of the basic in’s and out’s of the game starting from a fresh campaign. This allows us to review the rules in video format without re-reading them several times, but also see different aspects of the game in action before attempting them yourself. I feel ready to try it on my own now. 10/10 video. Thank you!

    Kicks up Skyrim. 40 minutes in. So I'm fighting a giant...
    Man, thanks for showing off how it's done! I'm so impressed with how the game captures Skyrim's wanderlust--can't really find that elsewhere besides Fallout. Very evocative moments with the bits of text and dice rolling...reminds me a lot of Uprising. Can't wait to open my copy up tomorrow!

    Hey man, great tutorial and walkthrough! I've been playing for the last few months with my friends, we've got a great group going, and we're just now finally to the point where we have pretty much all the rules down 😂 It's way more complicated than anything any of us I've ever played! Quick question though, for a mage player like myself, do you know if there is a stamina or magica cost to switch spells during combat? I know it says to spend stamina to switch equipment, but I have been under the impression that spells do not count as equipment

    • @RollingSolo

      Glad to help! It’s a fun game but you’re right that there’s some rules to get down around combat. Off the top of my head I’m not sure on the spell question, but maybe someone here knows. If not, join the Rolling Solo Board Game Community on Facebook and/or the Discord!

    I played 1:1 with the Kahjit, then again with the Orsimer (Orc). I found it to be much more challenging if you go with the Light Armor/Sneaking route opposed to the Heavy Armor/Tank route. I went on to complete 1:2 and most of 1:3 with the Orc, and found it to be satisfying and reminiscent of the Video game (which I still play to this day). I think it qualifies as a good (maybe not great) single player board game. Not sure yet for multi-player.

    At the 57 min mark. Where you try to finish your quest. If you notice at the middle of the card there is a small number 1. It is to my understanding that you must be @ least level 1 to attempt it.

    Just a quick heads up on the first combat (don't know if you correct it later, still watching). If you choose an offensive ability for your combat turn, the enemy hits you before you attack. The combat reference card is actually wrong on this one, rules clearly state it differently.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  Год назад +4

      Ah! If that’s the case then that’s a good catch. Unfortunate the reference card is off. I’ll have to look at this later. Thanks for watching and mentioning.

      @skoobyk Год назад

      Ralder de Hoogh’s comment really needs to be pinned. A lot of people will play this game wrong if they use this as their tutorial. On BGG they actually tell you to not use the combat side of the card because it is wrong. IT’s recommended you glue the two cards together to hide the combat side if not planning to sell the game lol

    • @damionfarnsworth8737
      @damionfarnsworth8737 Год назад +1

      Also on the first combat, if given the choice of damage to inflict, you must choose to match the enemy's armor type. So you would have only done 1 light damage against their light armor of 3.

    • @grithog5399
      @grithog5399 Год назад

      @@damionfarnsworth8737 On the subject of attacks that deal more than one type of damage at the same time, the rule book states that "When dealing damage to enemies,
      the player chooses which damage type to apply." Conversely, when the player is attacked by more than one type of damage, it affects their weaker armor. Thematically, I think of it as the attacker getting to choose which type of damage to apply (when it's a multi-type attack), so whether it is the player as the attacker who is choosing, or the enemy as the attacker who is choosing, they get to choose the weaker armor option.
      (When the attack is only a single type, then if that armor type is present, there is no choice to make: it has to affect that type of armor.)

    I just bought the game and tried to play, but had severe difficulties with poorly written rules and ambiguities. Maybe anyone can help:
    *The very first page of the campaign book profoundly confuses me; Playing with 2 player it says cards 180 and 181 should be removed and that a quest marker is to be added to Solitude, but doesn't explain how that solitary quest marker is used or what it means...?
    *Our private quests all ended with drawing card 180, which was taken out of the game. Therefore it didn't go anywhere. What went wrong here?
    *How does the Nord Battle Cry actually work? When does it trigger? Is it like an extra attack at any time, or does it just disrupt the enemy attack?
    *How does area-damage work? We were hit by Chain Lightning. Does it also hit the non-active characters? Can non-active characters block?
    *When getting a killing blow on an enemy, is the battle immediately over before the enemy's hit is resolved?
    *Can components be sold at the market?

    Thank you for this video.
    1. It didn't feel yo you as if the fight against the giant was too long?
    2. I'm not familiar with the Skyrim universe.
    Would you recommend this game as an adventure fantasy exploration game?
    3. Does it brings anything new to the table?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  Год назад +1

      Yes I would! I think they nailed the feeling of Skyrim on the tabletop and the leveling system is great. Combat can take a couple battles to grasp the ins and outs but once you do. You’re off to the races! I recommend it!

    What's the Dungeon Discord Pile? You mentioned having to send a card there, but I see no mention of this in the rules, or where that deck should be! Thanks.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  Год назад

      Just a discard pile you make as you go through the dungeon cards. I did it off camera.

      @@RollingSolo Ah, still don't entirely understand what it's for, and how it's different from any other discard pile.
      Also, do you draw from the blades deck? ie; if the top card of the blades deck is an event card, can I draw that event instead of the main ones from the board? Thanks!

    • @Steggington_Rex
      @Steggington_Rex Год назад

      @Meta Fox dungeon discard piles get shuffled back in after that type of dungeon is completed so adding it to discard pile makes that dungeon harder in the future and adds in themed enemies depending on your actions. I think

    • @Steggington_Rex
      @Steggington_Rex Год назад

      @Meta Fox I think the blades deck is there just to be killed when you fail things this chapter, making future harder as more blades died this time round.

    Hi Adam . Love the video game of the same name.( I'm currently a cat with a big, no huge bounty on my head and armed to the hilt for any potential bounty hunter). The rulebook however for the board game is terrible, we found it verry hard to get answers today for battles and use of the pink, yellow and red cubes. Seems like a lot of work for a battle.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  Год назад

      Hey Ian! I can understand that but once you get the system of how different attack types hit different defence types it will click. I think they did a really great job with it. Only thing I would have done is reduce the game hard size a bit as it doesn’t need to be as large as it is. Other than that, it’s a faithful translation of the video game.

    Do you always roll 3 die for combat?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  Год назад +1

      Nope. You can push in combat to get more dice for example.

    • @HelloGrimm
      @HelloGrimm Год назад +1

      @@RollingSolo So in a situation like Sparks were you need two matching symbols, you would normally roll 2 dice, but can spend an additional magicka to roll a third. Same with a iron sword attack having only one die symbol, you can spend two additional stamina to roll 3 die?
      Only reason I adk is because you rolled three die in combat without mentioning pushing yet.

    Passed on this. Just don’t like the idea of everything being decided by die results. Pretty much luck based.
    I do like the numbered story cards which I’ve seen before in other games. Similar choose your own adventure mechanic in there also.
    Waiting to see if the other Skyrim game is more my thing.
