If you are able to I would definitely check out the video game. It's the best co-op shooter I've ever played! The community is also one of the most welcoming I've seen for a shooter. So even if you don't have friends to play it with, playing with randoms is still gonna give you a good experience a majority of the time.
Good playthrough! One thing that is not clear in the rules but was clarified by the designer on BGG is that the scout's flare action can be used as part of his light-footed ability. It makes the flare MUCH more useful.
I'm only 9 minutes in, and can already tell this will be an awesome playthrough. You're zooming in, explaining, and making it so easy to follow along. 😊 Big like!
I made it to level five playing a Deep Dive campaign as a scout with Bosco for my solo run. Got completely overrun after a Warden showed up and I just didn't have enough damage output. Great fun though, and I'm looking forward to diving back in. Happy to see this played! Rock and Stone!
I love Deep Rock Galactic the video game, and bought the board game on a whim. I live in the uk, so it only arrived this week! I’m not a big board game player, but dove in to this game anyway, but soon found I was in way over my head! So I REALLY appreciate this slow paced, clear, nicely filmed step by step walkthrough! You answered so many of my questions. Many thanks!
Hey Colin! It’s Timothée. Great video. This happens to be the only KS I have supported in a long while because of how much I love the video game. It might be one of my favorite ones. You would not believe how good the coop is in it (especially with friends; got into it during/because of Covid). On top of that, it is also short, one and done type of missions which is nice. Anyway, glad you enjoyed it. It is a lot of « fan service » for the people who love the video game, so I am glad that it stands on its own as a board game for someone who doesn’t know it. It makes me excited to get my copy!
@@OneStopCoopShop haha if you ever do (the price is decent honestly), let me know so that I can help your green beard to rock and stone digitally ;). Would also love to get together once before we move out of the states! But, as you probably saw, we just got our little one! Still adapting to having him :).
Nice playthrough. That convinced me to order a deluxe copy. It did not come cheap with VAT and shipping so now I’m hoping there is enough replay value to justify the price. Knowing that it actually plays well helps. Wish I could paint miniatures like that!
Thanks Colin, that was a blast. Very tense and cinematic, especially at the end. The injured scout saying leave me behind and just go! lol Having seen Steve and Kim's stream of Deep Rock I guessed you'd enjoy this one. It was very silly of me not to have backed it! lol
Hey there! Rock and Stone!!! The playthrough was amazing to watch, I love the video game and the board game a lot! (Asked some questions, but clarified it myself through your comments / rewatching xddd)
It can certainly help clean up grunts and exploders allowing you to focus precious ammo on other threats. There are other tactical use for it a well, you could stop a ranged creature from taking anything but move actions for example 2 activations in a row
How does the scout's burst fire differ from full auto? Both have the same range, there us just a vertical line separating the dice for the damage on the burst side. Thanks in advance!
Thank you Colin, it was an amazing playthrough! Just a question: at about 1:16 the scout used an attack action - could he have moved before he attacked or was there a reason the light-footed ability was not available at the time?
at 1:16 I was just doing setup so I am not sure which part you are talking about, but generally there would be no oreason I couldn't move then attack for free. Likely a poor tactical choice! Thanks for watching and this one is AWESOME!
Ah yes I could certainly have moved, but only 2 spaces. If I moved three I would of lost line of sight I think. If I had just moved 1 space we could have won the game outright! Oh well!!
Great video, just like all your, would love to see some more on this game please, also has the kickstarter finished as can't find the all in one, only preorder deluxe only, any help most appreciated cheers
Thanks so much for watching! You are correct the KS is done it is delivering now, but you can pre-order the game and should get everything from that, nothing was KS exclusive. Rock and Stone!
First off, I must say.... been watching your channel since the inception. And, I enjoy your videos as much today and when I watched the first one. Do you get a commission? Well, you should, because I just snagged a copy based on the fun you had. I enjoy game mechanics, randomness, nice components, attractive art and design, but..... the aspect that I enjoy the most? The fun factor. I could be wrong, because I haven't played DRG, but all of the aspects I mentioned seem to come together to make a fun and challenging game. Oh yeah, and the beautifully painted minis. I must paint mine. It sure helps with the immersion.
Thanks so much my man!! No commissions just epic fun haha! Glad you picked it up, the game has everything you mentioned and is why I've already played 12 times! Rock and Stone!
Hey Colin. Great playthrough. Was curious if you're still playing trudvang or if you got tired of it. So many varying opinions and wondering if it's worth a pick up
Great question Erik! Currently haven't gone back to Trudvang but not because I didn't enjoy it. More so I just have too many games hahaha! I think Trudvang will give you a nice story with some push your luck. I also hope Trudvang will be a lot better once all the expansions come out so you can mix and match some of the enemies. That way you aren't fighting Drungar for the entire game. . .
Man Colin. Makes me want to grab this game up. It seems to me like it's maybe a tighter version of something like Massive Darkness. Would that be accurate?
I have played Massive Darkness 2 and this, and would say they each have their own complexities. My 6 and 9 yr old son can play this one just fine as well as MD. The biggest difference here for me is ammo, you need to be smarter and more careful in Deep Rock due to the limitations of ammo. Also feel like Deep Rock has more way to co-operate. However I would say they are both good! Rock and Stone!!
That was so exciting! You’re my favorite person to watch game playthroughs :) I ordered the deluxe version but now I’m thinking that I should have gotten the playmat and goo expansion too. Any thoughts on how they add to the experience? Thanks so much!!
Thanks so much! So I play with the mat only, I think it looks better than the board. The Goo expansion only adds 2 different bug types and maybe 5-6 cards so not a necessity for sure. Hope that helps! Rock and Stone!
@@OneStopCoopShop Okay, it doesn’t take much to convince me on this, and you succeeded in doing so:) I’ve noticed a lot of fiddleyness in so many games with pieces bumping and moving out of place. It seemed like your base, keeping its shape really helped to keep that to a minimum. I want it :)
Not really? Galaxy defenders the enemies are much harder to kill and is a lot more tactical on positioning. I think this reminds me more of a supped up zombicide

@OneStopCoopShop you could probably play 3 ir 4 games in the time it took to play a board game man

This is one of my favorites!! So good!!
You don't have to draw an event card if within the drop pod (or so I heard from the devs), so you would have won! :)
Looks great. Now show us mission two thru five 😂. Can't seem to get enough of this game.
The game is so good!!! Rock and Stone!
If im not mistaken, bugs always ignore the engineer turret i reaching/attacking a dwarf is possible
Huh i always thought it was the closest possible. If tied it would go towards the dwarf first
I had a look at rules, turret is only attacked as a last option if targeting a dwarf is not possible.
Got it ill make a note! That makes it a lot more powerful
It can certainly help clean up grunts and exploders allowing you to focus precious ammo on other threats. There are other tactical use for it a well, you could stop a ranged creature from taking anything but move actions for example 2 activations in a row

No way....... that would be insane!! We could have won!!
great video. please make more drg vids... does bill make painting videos? these are the best painted drg minis i saw for a long time.
How does the scout's burst fire differ from full auto? Both have the same range, there us just a vertical line separating the dice for the damage on the burst side.
Thanks in advance!
Burst fire has to happen after movement and is only one shot. Full auto means you can keep going as many times as you have ammo for free shots!
@One Stop Co-op Shop oh interesting! Thanks! It's just so odd that there are two dice for burst. Thanks again!
