The face is the real standout here, as well as the proportions obviously being closer to Langella then the Super7 version. That being said, the S7 has the upper hand in almost every other regard, especially the color accuracy.
Now, what I'm really hoping for is the trooper(s) from the movie. Got two black Classics bucks reserved from years ago to complete these Classics customs. Bring it on, Mattel.
This is awesome! I hope Mattel continues with the movie line, maybe Gwildor, Evil Lynn, Saurod…maybe even Julie Winston 😅. Overall this looks like a solid release by Mattel 👍🏻.

Technically, wasn't the Classics version limited to being based on concept art rather than the on-screen appearance per se?
I hope all the characters from the film get a figure because that film had some really cool designs that would translate really well to masterverse figures.
Movie Evil-Lyn we DEFINITELY need! And Blade...Blade as a Masterverse figure? Oh man!
I've seen a few people confused and a bid miffed that he's in purple armour! But a couple of things -
1) from photos on set and of the costume, this is pretty accurate!
2) if he looked exactly the same as the Classics version, would there be much point in this?
Bonus: what colour has Skeletor always had his armour in?! 🤣💀
Incredible figure, the face sculpt is so good and its great to have another figure based on this, the best version of skelator in my opinion. God skelator next I hope
It looks like Dan got a pretty good one. But he got lucky.
I highly recommend looking for this in store. From what I've seen, 60-80% of them DO have more of a wash on the face and it's very bad, causing the face to look yellow and slimy.
Skeletor's face is normally yellow, but in this case, we all know that it's supposed to be a stark bone white.
So, if that matters to you and your collection, do not buy online. The margin for error is too large, you're gonna want to hunt this one down.

I was just telling my friend about this! There were three for me to choose from at the store and I got the only one with little to no wash on the face. Much better! The ones with the wash looked more zombie like and decrepit and took away from that pale white face from the movie!
I bought 2 of those on amazon and weirdly enough, one had little to no wash and was kinda yellowy, while the one that I'm keeping has a fair bit of dark wash that brings out the sculpt but remains white lol
That's a spot on face sculpt! Nice figure overall!
I hope we get the skelegod movie version in this line that was be pretty sweet
I think this is a massive improvement over the Super 7 in almost every way.
The colors of this version seem to be based off of the color damaged/faded movie costume that was circulating online and auctioned a while back.
Where the original black velvet and aubergine tinted cloak got washed and "restored" improperly.
But the Super 7 is too bulky and has way too much bronze and gold in it.
I replaced the crappy transparent triangular cape with a custom crushed velvet cloak and I'm very happy.
My favorite Skeletor! I have this guy and the Dark Despot Skeletor and I couldn't be happier!
i prefer this one over the super7 one, the head is spot on to the movie and he´s overall more accurate to the movie. and i´m glad they used the bigger box because the artwork on it is amazing. i really hope we get a movie evil lyn this time.
For a deluxe figure this should have definitely had a second head, it should have been the head without his hood the “Ill be back head” Or a white version of the original toy to go with the alternate dolph head.
Received my figure this week. He is fantastic in hand. The face is spot on! I also think the cape doesn’t look as brown in hand than it does in pictures or video. Also, the cape was taped into the plastic clam shell rather than tied in, so it seems the later run of this figure has that in place, thank goodness! I can’t stop posing this figure, definitely one of the best in Masterverse so far. Only thing missing I wish was included, a hand with a pointing/trigger finger - he did a lot of finger pointing in the film😂 It would have added more to the overall look of this figure.
I didn't really like the Masterverse movie He-Man, but this figure is dope.
I loved this movie! And I think this picture perfectly captures Skeletor. Can’t wait to see He-Man and Teela and if they are real life sculpts too.
I saw an early review of the figure month or so ago and he showing how this is accurately colored. It just didn’t come out good in the movie. So I thought Super 7 had the accurate colors until I seen his vid showing the details colors in the movie. And this one definitely looks more like Langella

My cape had two holes next to each other similar to yours, and I can't for the life of me be sure whether this was a factory problem or I accidentally cut them myself while removing the straps. Bought a second one to have a clear conscience lol
Never noticed this before, but the movie version of Skeletor has a Mongolian feel to it.
If could be possible to exchange the armor with the classics and the cape for a better fabric, this figure would be perfect.

One detail you overlooked: while the silver details on the gripping hands' back is skulpted, on the fist and open band it's just printed on. At first i thought they reused old hands to save costs but they are new sculpts due to the silver fingertips.
Blade is at the top of my Masterverse list! HE WAS IN REVELATIONS FOR LIKE TWO SECONDS I MEAN COME ON SURELY THAT WARRANTS A TOY????
Well I can say that I like the look of this skeletor way better than the movie he-man from this line at least they were able to look like he did in the movie compared to he-man
I purposefully found the one with more wash on it because it really makes the mold pop, brings the features out. The ones that are plain white might be a bit more accurate but also look more cheap and bland. The wash really makes all the little dents and curves stick out.
Skeletor with the NES power glove ha ha. I like this figure too. This is also why I think Gwildor should be done next.

You're right the Classics face isnt as good, Masterverse face looks like it popped out of the film.
A fired employee from mcaflane quality control now works at mattel hence the hole in the cape

This would be the single most wanted figure at the moment for me. I've already got the Super7 one but I can't get enough of that design
I got this and the movie He-Man in last week, I'm not exactly satisfied with the He-Man head either, but I'm keeping his stock head, as I haven't seen any replacement options yet that are to my liking. Very happy with Skeletor though, though on mine I did add a bit of grey on the face to bring more of the details out, and I repainted the head of the Havoc Staff to more resemble the Classics version.

the thin fabric suffers the same issue as She-Ra. It looks too cheaper to be called a deluxe figure. I think Mattle should pack the caped figures with a fabric cape and a soft plastic cape to justify the deluxe price point.
Here is my theory on why movie he-man and skeletor are more expensive. The goal with Masterverse and Origins is to get new and younger people into MOTU, that’s why they’re in toy stores and not just your local sci-fi store. But the only people that are going to fork out buy these two are older fans and they know it.
I am finishing up my review of this figure myself. I think it is better than the Super 7 version. I think you just have bad luck with cloth capes - my Skeletor's cape was perfect. No holes.

It doesn't happens that frequesntly, but I think that Masterverse won this battle against MOTU Classics... Like you mentioned, their Movie Skeletor looks vloser to Frank Langella's depiction of the character!
Hey Pixel Dan.. In your reviews i would like to see you pop some of these headsculpts and hands into Motu Origins bodys to see how they match up.. For us customizer's and kitbashers.. I dont collect masterverse but sometimes buy them to customize my origin figures.
Fun fact: if you can understand it, skeletor is using plenty of command voice and dominance and his power scene is perfectly fine for conditioning

This take looks good, but the s7 accessories win, esp,the key.

That face likeness is pretty great. While I love the Super7 version, I may need to grab this one too. Maybe a head swap is in order? Mattel, give us PIG BOY!!!!
The super7 face skulpt looks more like the Dark Wanderer from Diablo 2.

I think the masterverse body type fits movie skeletor better than classics, and the face sculpt is more accurate to the movie, but the hood flaps and the paint I don't like much. hope they make god skeletor, and I'm afraid about how man at arms, teela, and evil lyn's faces will look
I think masterverse. Belated super 7 in every aspect this time especially proportions and articulation
Is there any way to remove the belt and slip the cosmic key strap into the belt on this Skeletor?
The Mastervse one is nice but it's more cartoony than movie. The Super7 is more movie leaning since it's based on the movie and movie concept artist . Plus trying to touch up on the old movie toy line typical of Classics.
I don't like soft goods on action figures and the hood looks silly how it sticks up at the sides. Al also prefer the proportions of the chunkier Classics so I'll stick with that. No reason this figure should be a deluxe.

As it is i would seriously kill for an evil lyn and teela from the movie. As awesome as the she-ra, both teelas, and andra have been, this line has been knocking the women out of the park.
