Hey Dan. Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out, but the cannon arm can be switched out to either side. It's designed in a way that it's sculpted symmetrical on either side allowing you to rotate the shoulder so that it can go on either side and look like it belongs there. That's why both arms can come off.
If/when they make a Masterverse Horde Trooper, I hope they have removable heads with normal sized pegs. I want to make 'flash back' Hordak when he stole baby Adora, and He-Me-Man when he disguised himself as a Trooper to sneak into the Fright Zone.
My Hordak figure doesn't have the wonky arm, but I did have a small paint mark below an eye and some major silver paint splotches on one of his boots. It was pretty bad, so I actually ended up painting over it. I painted some black but then I ended up painting the bats on his boots red, I know it's not show accurate, but wow painting them red really makes the boots pop. I'm really glad I did that, the figure looks great with the red boot accents and it makes the bats stand out that much more. Sometimes ugly bad paint marks on a figure are a gift in disguise. I really like this figure, definitely one of my favorites in the Masterverse line, and honestly this is a figure line that I really enjoy customizing and adding paint apps too since they're retail figures and relatively cheap and easy to get
The version of Hordak that this actually reminds me the most of is the one from the Summer 1985 issue of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Magazine--specifically, the story "The Coming of Hordak" and the Earl Norem poster from that issue. But that was my first exposure to the Evil Horde, so it looms large for me.
I waited and got mine right after Christmas. On clearance at Target. Marked down from $32.99 to $16.00. I got She-Ra and the 40th Anniversary He-Man at the same time. Both on clearance. Also, luckily my Hordak's arm sockets are fine and tight.
Just picked mine up on clearence at Target for 10 bucks. Arm sockets are actually really tight on mine, so the arm issue may be attributed to "Your Mileage May Vary"
All of these Masterverse figures are so Awesome, that they ALL end up at Liquidation centers. Amazon is always a great place to get these at a lower price. Look forward to these a Ollies this Holiday season.
It ain't a MOTU review without our Dan doing it , looks like this is the new generation of what we will be getting. At least they are reasonably priced and more readily available
The 40th Anniversary He-Man is probably going to be my first Masterverse figure, but I'm very interested in this figure, as well as She-Ra and the Anniversary Skeletor. Aside from the Mega Construx mini-figures, this will also my first proper MOTU action figure too.
I eventually got one and decided to line the edge of each arm peg for the socket. Let it dry and pop it in to set it from popping back out for a while. It does make it harder and more sensitive for arm swapping but nothing wrong with getting one to keep in the box and decide whether it's gonna be the mechanical arm or the original arm but hopefully. I got the warranty lol.
Hordak is my absolute favorite of MOTU, and was, when I was a kid, when he was introduced. I love this figure, but I’d prefer a variant that’s more like the classic figure, with the grey instead of the blue, no canon arm and an all bone-colored head, but I doubt they’ll ever do this.
Awesome, definitely glad I ordered this one, hordak is highly overlooked in my opinion, this should fit nicely as the emperor of my demonic forces, awesome review as always 👍
We have this one of Hordak, but I think I ended up with two hahaha. I like ha his arm becomes a gun like in the Filmooooon series. The blast effect and robotic claw are very tight to push into place, the feel a bit like they don't even fit haha
I got mine, the arms are tight as the origins figures, but as you said, I won't wanna swap the arms too often, fraid may wear off it's tightness... Anyway great reviews, especially it's comparison, really dig his cape, his shield and his robotic hand... Looking forward to watch you reviewing She-ra and 40th anniversary He-man soon... Also your review on MOTU origins on 200x He-man and Skeletor 👍
I got my Hordak today. Mine does not have the shoulder joint issues yours does, but I have serious paint app problems all over my figure. And one of the connections on my body armor is malformed so the armor doesn't latch on one side. I've got some work to do to fix mine up.
What I do with my Hordak to have him hold the shield is put the gripping hand on the smaller "belt", slide the rest of the arm through, and connect the hand to the wrist. Now he looks more like he's "gripping" his shield. Otherwise, good review! 👍
Only the cannon arm on mine was super loose, other arm was fine. And also the paint job on mine is also kinda sloppy. Gonna take it back to Target for an even exchange for hopefully a non defective one.
I want 2002 Hordak, King Hiss, Skeletor, And Frank Langella Skeletor! Also what is with the extended figure on the right hands? I really wish they would just make it a regular gripping hand
Hello. Mine wasn't like that with the arms. I actually couldn't move the spare arm because the peg was stuck. I guess there are a lot of production issues with this one.
Really sad about these armjoints. And about the extras actually. I wish he had the Imp as an extra and a Staff instead of that silly looking crossbow. The shield is amazing, but seems a little lost, since all his weapons are not made for close combat. Still waiting for this Hordak to be announced for a european release. Dispite the flaws... I need him!
Well the arm joint isn't to worrisome. Just as a tiny drop of super glue inside and out the arm in and then take out to spread the glue around and create friction. Should hold in fine after you let it dry with the arm out of the socket. I'm getting mine from Bigbadtoystore as well so I'll know that I'll need to do this when I get it.
Great review!… Can yo do a review for a Deluxe Buzz-Saw Hordak Origins, I believe you haven’t do a review of that figure… and I would love to see it, specially a “comparison time” of that figure. Thanks! Bye!!
After an uncertain start, once again Masterverse just gets better. Personally Hordak's never been a major favourite of mine - I've always been primarily into the very early "barbarian" side of MOTU - but he's not a bad character (well, he IS bad!), and I like what they've done with him here. It woulda been interesting if they had made his collar-piece removable, giving some more display/custom options, but that's no big deal. Dunno why but personally I'm not a huge fan of the "blast effect" pieces on MOTU figures, I'm fine that they're there for people who want them, but feel this one really needed to be translucent or at least have some mixing with a second colour, the solid red plastic thing doesn't quite work IMO. I do feel that Masterverse is making the proportions look a bit better now, as some of the very early ones looked rather 'lanky'. A fair figure, one I'll probably not frantically hunt down, but will nab if I see it at a decent price. Be interesting to ever see what a New Eternia 'Barbarian' Hordak would look like...
His head looks weird. I like the origins version better. And if this is meant to be the filmation one, shouldn't his cape be black? Or do I remember it wrong?
@Latest Obsession You are right, he really did not have a cape. I still want to have Evil Lyn with a black cape. She 100% had one in the cartoon sometimes.
So now that the scale is, once again, different, it means that if they decide to make vehicles, they would have to start all over again. Classics vehicles compatibility is pretty much out of the question
I’ve mentioned it in other reviews, his head looks “off” to me, like it’s too big and round or something. Other than the head, it’s a decent-looking figure! I didn’t see any other complaints about the arm, so perhaps you got a bad figure.
Dear pixel Dan Did the vintage motu heman skeletor and faker each have just a half sword For some reason I thought each of them had a full sword and a half sword I was really young in 80s Was just asking For the love of toys Thank you pixel Dan
Figures like this really make me sad I missed out on classics. His head being pearlescent dosnt look anything like the promo images. It always looked like a flat bright white.
Classics are amazing. Glad I still have mine and that I picked up as many as I did. This masterverse line is trash. I have several and they’re just ok/bad
Canon arm actually fits on both sides, which is why both sides are unfortunately loose. Gonna upload a vid on my channel showing that soon. I laughed at the duck feet too.
Looking at how his face looks more like fishy face than Hordak with big ears and the big mess of the loose joints of both arms i would say this Hordak Masterverse isnt a DELUXE figure!
This one isn't for me at all and it's mostly due to the portrait. It especially stands out when you compared this to the two Classics versions... both of those head sculpts are far superior. I also like the bulk the body on the left has. I wish all of this was brought over to the Masterverse figure, but sadly it didn't happen. I love Masterverse as a line overall, but this one is a big miss IMHO.
This line is trash. I have weak ankles that are too tight on several figures in this line. I just picked up Spikor at Walmart tonight and I have to return it because the ankles were so tight (even after using a hair dryer) that the left foot broke completely off. I’m so sick of paying a premium for poor quality with all these lines. They’re hard to find too. What if I had ordered that Spikor online or, God forbid, eBay? I would have to ship the damn thing back or take the loss. I hope I can return this pos or I’m just going to have to throw a brand new figure in the trash 😡
MOTU is garbage and I am completely exhausted when it comes to this. Super 7 and classics was where I drew the line. This new line is built like garbage. Masters of the universe can rest in piss. Stop bringing it back we don’t need it anymore. In fact I’m thinking of selling all my Super 7 and classic have the entire collection. I don’t have any love for that Franchise anymore. I absolutely adore Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformer and Voltron. Masters is dried up and I would rather scalp my collection since I have so many extras. We are going for good prices now and I would rather scout them off.
*figures of the same character What you described would refer to reissues like the ones Playmates has been doing. But even that is just now happening after so much time, so it's the first opportunity for some people to open one brand new and can allow people to get figures in better condition than they might be able to of the originals.

That would be awesome
I think it's safe to say we're getting Masterverse figures of Leech and Mantenna in the near future, and I'm ALL FOR IT
I hope this shows up in Targets so I can pick one out with decent paint applications.
They do have it a target, they had it 30 percent discount 😊

I love that half of this Masterverse Wave is Princess of Power. I can’t wait to see all the PoP on the shelf at Target soon!

Aside from that issue with the right arm socket, that looks like a solid figure.
this line it's getting better and better!
The right arm can be removed because you can put the cannon arm there,.just rotating the the elbon join bends the right way.
It ain't a MOTU review without our Dan doing it , looks like this is the new generation of what we will be getting.

Would be cool if the gear worked on Origins. That head would look cool on a Horde Trooper body
Excellent review! Thank you!
Love this figure. I would pick up a grey colored version with a vampire head sculpt variant
The grey Hordak was great.
I do not see myself ever coming to accept the blue Filmation style...
Awesome, definitely glad I ordered this one, hordak is highly overlooked in my opinion, this should fit nicely as the emperor of my demonic forces, awesome review as always 👍

Hello. Mine wasn't like that with the arms. I actually couldn't move the spare arm because the peg was stuck. I guess there are a lot of production issues with this one.
1:50 Dan doesn't seem too excited to take a closer look at Hordak ...🤣
Really sad about these armjoints. And about the extras actually. I wish he had the Imp as an extra and a Staff instead of that silly looking crossbow. The shield is amazing, but seems a little lost, since all his weapons are not made for close combat. Still waiting for this Hordak to be announced for a european release. Dispite the flaws... Nice review as usual! Is the collar removal by any chance so we can do a cape swap or no cape?
Well the arm joint isn't to worrisome. Just as a tiny drop of super glue inside and out the arm in and then take out to spread the glue around and create friction. Should hold in fine after you let it dry with the arm out of the socket. I'm getting mine from Bigbadtoystore as well so I'll know that I'll need to do this when I get it.
So many elements from the vintage toy makes me think they're planning to release a grey version of this figure later.
I'm only on the fence about this one due to the face sculpt. Something about it feels a bit off... That being said I'm still likely to get it anyways
Glad I'm not the only one disappointed and put off by this face sculpt.
I might have to get this one and She-Ra for my collection
Very cool Hordak figure. 👍

The arm can fit on either side. Just flip at the bicep.
Hey guys does anyone know who drew the artwork for the Packaging of Hordak?
Serious that would be the first figure I only want to buy to repaint it.
It might just be your version. The arm holds nice and snug on the one I got.
Seems like this Hordak’s “fire” effect coming from the gun-arm, is the same that comes with Origin’s Prince Adam and Sky Sled…
I preordered mine from big bad toy store but they haven't shipped out yet I don't understand Why they haven't shipped out yet
Luckily the regular arm popped in securely on mine.
Mine hordak came perfect no defects or loose joints
His head looks weird. I like the origins version better.
And if this is meant to be the filmation one, shouldn't his cape be black? Or do I remember it wrong?
@Latest Obsession You are right, he really did not have a cape.
I still want to have Evil Lyn with a black cape. She 100% had one in the cartoon sometimes.
mine's right arm also comes off easily.
Absolutely stunning. One of my favorite characters in popular fiction. Genius move by Mattel. A must have.😛
I dont see this wave on BBTS
The left arm comes off too because the canon arm can go on either side.

The vintage "Power Swords" were all half swords.
@@JediJunkie247 thank you
The head looks more like Hordak from Netflix's She Ra but with a fin
The product listings for this said "new Eternia Hordak" Up until release so I'm going to just assume this is meant to be new Eternia Hordak lmao.
Cool toy
Sucks about the arm connections. Makes me a little less likely to pick him up if I see him.
hahahaha I always thought Skeletor had feet like a pigeon and Hordak has feet like a duck hahaha

Love Hordak! But not this one :( ... still waiting for the perfect Hordak figure.. at least for myself. The headsculpt on this one is no no ..
For me the perfect Hordak would be the one from the 2002 series. I so hope Masterverse makes that version
The Classics versions always look better.
💯
Yeah, only thing going for it is it's slightly taller.
Canon arm actually fits on both sides, which is why both sides are unfortunately loose. Gonna upload a vid on my channel showing that soon. I laughed at the duck feet too.
Masterverse is just killing these toys! ❤️😍
I wish the head was more cartoon accurate. Not keen on cloth goods capes. They look so cheap.
Looking at how his face looks more like fishy face than Hordak with big ears and the big mess of the loose joints of both arms i would say this Hordak Masterverse isnt a DELUXE figure!
My figure is fine. They gave you a whatever figure since it's free
Wow you always get the worst samples 😂 loose joints, sloppy paint!
Looking forward to this figure despite not being a blue Hordak fan

Sloppiest paint job I’ve seen so far for a Masterverse figure!
Globby paint job and a globby paint cannon.
I was excited until I saw that arm issue. Now I’m gonna pass

This is the cheapest version of Hordak I’ve ever seen. It looks like a cheap piece of plastic garbage
