Hey Dan! It's worth mentioning there was a running change variant with Evil Lyn...she comes in two completely different body colors, pink which you have, and champagne. The design tampo on her suit is a different color as well, and she has slightly different face paint.
Now that we have Evil-Lyn, we definitely need a movie-style Beast Man. And just for consistency, a Masterverse version of Karg, Blade and Saurod would be nice.
"Didn't have technology" translates to, "Cannon didn't want to spend the money." If there was technology in 1984 to do Slimer and the other ghosts in Ghostbusters, the technology existed in 1987 to do Orko.

I’d like to see Mattel make some of the troopers that Skeletor had and the air centurion so we can army build the troops etc and add them with Skeletor and Evil Lynn
Hey Dan. Nice comparision of Evil Lyn with the "William Stout" Classics collection. Now I might have to get one to round out the line up. I was thinking of doing some customizatiom with a spare Huntara I have somewhere, but looks like I might not even need to bother.
I am 48 years old and I was heart broken when i saw the 87 movie, I recently got it as a birthday gift last year. I watched it again and I have a different vibe towards it. I like it! I watch it from time to time now!
Same age. I tried to watch it again a few years back, turns out i still dislike it as a movie or Heman fan, but enjoyed the 80's-ness of it, and Evil Lyn was a highlight.
I've seen it several times and really like it, but I just hate how empty the city feels. Like when Skeletor is on his flying thing, going down the street with all his henchmen, and then fighting with the good guys, and there's literally no normal people on the streets, it's like the city has been abandoned.
45 myself and always considered the movie a guilty pleasure, it was disappointing on first watch though I’ve definitely grown to enjoy it for what it is. Live action Evil Lynn also awoken things in me, I still have a weakness for the “bad girl” look.
I don't need an Orko figure, but they've done a really nice job with him. Lots of effort gone into making the character and the effects/accessories work. More caped characters should have articulation like that for "windy" effects.
They do look good honestly! I like evil-Lyn and her packaging art. Glad she goes well with the other movie figures cause I do have all them except the 2 masterverse ones. I like the design of revolutions gwildor. Perfect toon version.
They are often confused. Meg Foster is lesser known, but has been acting in tv since the 1970's. Alley's break came in the late 1970's from like game show appearances (and probably scientology connections).
Both figures are looking great to me. Original Orko is my favourite of course... but i like this sculpt very much. Gwildor is looking really cool to me. A little bit to "noble" . We know him from the Movie and there he was a rebel living under a rock... too noble for me... but still a cool figure.
I think it all depends on them sales support. The movie He-Man and skeletor I don't think they did too well. Evil Lyn has not been done before so fingers crossed she's going to be popular for more future movie figures that I would love to see
I’m a Transformers collector, but i appreciate MOTU enough to watch your videos and if Hasbro and Mattel ever make a Collab Figure between the series, then I’ll try and get it
Yeah, the infamous flying discs that had HUGE issues and caused an injury for the stunt guy. So absolutely the resources (and especially the budget) wasn’t there to make that work for a specific character for every scene they’d appear. That said they could’ve simply had him not fly the majority of the time though the additional reasoning was they wanted to create new characters to sell as toys to promote the movie (before they knew it was going to be a huge flop).
Evil-Lyn is so under-painted, and that opaque plastic takes a lot away from it. It looks like they left the body outside to get sun-bleached for a year before finishing the figure. The cloth cape is nice, and helps the figure remain posable. It needs a lot of acrylic paint to make it right.
mmm - yes ah, im looking forward to adding these figures to my collection soon, and hopefully - as you mentioned - more of the 87 characters as/if they are made 😊
I would have loved if they’d used that ultra black paint on the head so there would be no definition whatsoever other than his eyes. Wonder how hard that stuff is to get….🤔

although i prefer the classics Stout series He-man and Skeletor to the Mattel version, this Evil-Lyn is wonderful. Very well executed by mattel, especially the face and eyes. Super7 typically do not do well with real images and the Stout series aren’t real faces, so, success.
Hey pixel Dan I was wondering if you would be able to go over the DC universe Classics Superboy prime collection of that toy wave phase of your collection of them
I've been waiting forever for your review of Evil-Lyn. I found so many reviews being ridiculously negative, but I knew as a MOTU fan, I could look forward to your enthusiasm at having a movie Evil-Lyn figure in hand. I feel she looks much better than the prototype teaser pics, and i also was waiting for this figure since 1987. I think the only thing that needs to happen with the face is the eye shadow to bring out the eyes. She just needs a little smoke between the eyes and the eyebrows, that's all. A simple little wash there with each eye will be the final puzzle piece to complete this awesome figure.
i had blade and that on the left copper looking one (can't remember his name) he was able to shoot sparks like from a lighter. i miss such features. nowadays you replace mechanecks head with the elongated neck. back then it came out of his torso. man-e faces and so on. the battle armor that rotates. if they incorporate this back again they would have the best figures. i'm also wondering why they are not covered in a plastic skin such as barbies did to hide the joints.
