    saw these guys live and they were so absolutely chill and they happily signed my caustic CD. what i also remember is the drummer, at the end of the show, just sitting and having a beer at the bar by himself. dude was totally in the zone

      I saw them in Bristol a few months ago and didn’t bring ear plugs (first ever concert lmao) couldn’t hear for shit for days, I was right by the stage so permanent damage may have been done

      @@windhamearl4544 I'm a dad too, and I love gnaw! Both bands put me in a different world. I actually released an album in 2008 called "Sloppy Genius" that weirded my dad out.
      I was thinking about my dad. Haha.
      Projecting a little, but it's funny to think about the dad's who are weirded out by different noise.
      Now, my kids weird me out with anime soundtracks haha. That shit...

    One of the few bands who are emotionally painful to see live in a good way! Both times I've caught the group, their set has just been 45 minutes of pure sonic dread. Love to see it.

    This has become one of my most frequently watched RUclips videos. I love how Ethan pretty much astral projects into the deepest hell dimension when performing, and the respect he was given here for being able to keep playing until the end. Very cool.

    Ethan is simply one of the most crushingly heavy and terrifying vocalists I have ever seen. I love it considering he's the nicest dude. Really cool to get a quick run through some of their gear

      @@foofy14 The bassists amp set up has a decal (for lack of a better term) on the front of it with James Brown printed on it. He’s a prominent funk/soul artist known as the God father of soul, great music 👌🏻

      @@foofy14 i mean considering Ethan is Black and he titled a whole album in tribute to another Black soul artist (Gil Scott Heron) I would say it's probably a shared appreciation and respect for the Black musical traditions that have paved the way for rock, and by extension punk and metal

    Just saw these guys play in a tiny venue in Charlotte and they put on the most crushing and heavy performance I have seen. They truly put every bit of their intensity into playing. It was also the loudest show I have been to, with YOB being a close second.

    I’ve seen these guys twice near my hometown .. out in the middle of the desert, in Southern California at a place called “Giant Rock” .. it’s literally named that because there is hill sized rocks where they perform .. I was on MDA both times and it was a beautiful experience 🤘🏼 nothing like getting your lid blown off by primitive man under the crystal clear night sky

    Like Neurosis (& I would maybe add Amenra to this list also), when I see these guys perform live it makes me want to quit trying to write heavy music. These guys are the sonic embodiment of the crushing weight of life and death. Incredible.

    What a mix of extreme genres! Sludge, Drone, Funeral Doom, some Post Metal vibes. One of the most brutal growls i've ever heard. And i'm a big fan of Death Metal. It reminds me McEntee's growl (Incantation). 🖤
