We aren't wrong. I lost count of how many times I saw them. My Glastonbury 92 ticket was just to see The Fall and my mates thought me insane. I got to see Tom Jones too, so bonus in the surreal dept. I miss Mark too and was recently asked to explain the 'Wings' video to a female friend, who - on seeing the link I sent - asked what was going on?
I explained The Fall weren't so much a band you saw, or listened to, but rather 'experienced'. She still didn't get it. The Fall the Marmite of British bands. You either love them, or hate them. RIP MES.

This is magnificent. The opening track is... action-packed, it has "brillliant movie theme" written all over it. The Fall should have done all the Bond films, I think, same with Eurovision song contests. The Fall are Britain, at its best. I guess I should say 'were Britain'. RIP MES, the band, that Britain. God knows, we need you now.

Stable line-up is the best Fall. Eleni with bass heavy keyboards (at fucking last), The Eagle and Keiron locked R section includes nodding and Greenway's Ennio guitar.
    AND I LIKE IT!

Saw this band in Edinburgh (Picture House) MES did 4 songs then fucked off and an audience member took over for a few songs before the bouncer threw him off stage. Then MES came back after being retrieved from the pub across the road (Shakespeare Bar). One of the best gigs I have ever been to. The Fall, always different but always the same...Peel.

      Very misunderstood story.
True version is - stage lights came up during a gig and the soundman was eating a salad
Smith had given specific instructions about the light show, and rightly felt for an hour or two a night he had to work he should focus on his job.
Much like the 'brown m&ms' story which is used to call rock bands divas with ridiculous riders, but the reality was explained later by David Lee Roth -
"Van Halen was the first to take 850 par lamp lights - huge lights - around the country,"Roth said. "At the time, it was the biggest production ever." In many cases, the venues were too outdated or inadequately prepared to set up the band's sophisticated stage.
"If I came backstage, having been one of the architects of this lighting and staging design, and I saw brown M&Ms on the catering table, then I guarantee the promoter had not read the contract rider, and we would have to do a serious line check" of the entire stage setup, Roth said.
