This is an amazing ranking, cant disagree even though my choices would be slightly different. So personal to each fan, depending on which station you got on the train etc. Thanks for taking the time to put this together, a lot of relatable takes here!

So personal The Fall. Even more so than any other band i can think of. Thanks for giving it a go though. As im sure theres so many who do need an introduction to Marks work. So many albums. So many line ups. Vast amounts of different sounds and textures which makes them a band of upmost importance. And when anyone gets into the swing of the genius of the man and these musicians? Theres no disputing their standing as perhaps one of the greatest bands in history. Fuck the rest. Yea. Mark was my Dad once. Might of been twice. But she cant remember even if it was the once. RIP mark. P.S. ignore the savante like intersteller critiques out there. Great talking about music. Who can remember which one of the beverly sisters ended her days doing twisted sister in laws landlords other half were in Fall once doing old obscure covers of rankyard wigginstall when he was going through cross fase chantric enfused with folk from some village in cheshire?? I fuckin cant! Bless💅

Ironically top three are all framed and on my wall!
Live at the Witch Trials for me, 1979/80, one track recorded in my home city of Preston, England. as well.
First introduction on vinyl after John Peel let me into them.
All time track?, still feel for Fiery Jack or Blindness but varies from mood to mood to period of life.
    God bless the Fall!
Thanks for getting me through my youth.

My Favourite is also Perverted By Language and it came out a day after my birthday. So i love it, Eat Y Self Fitter is brilliant.

I can't fault a fellow Fall fan for their favorite album choices. There are a lot of reasons to like the Fall, given their continual evolution, and I can appreciate them all.
What changed for me, was listening to The Fall on vinyl with a good sound system. There are so many nuances there you don't catch with digital music. Take Dragnet, for example, those songs have a dark, primitive sound on digital, but on vinyl you also have a lightheartedness that shines through, making it a very different experience.

Completely agree with this take. Makes me want to experience an unwieldy amount of Peel Sessions via the vinyl format. Now that would be fun.

I subscribed and liked BEFORE I watched this !
Knowing that I would find it most enjoyable , which I did !
Back in Bristol in England I saw them just twice , the first time was before Brix had joined the group , around the time of The man whose Head Expanded single , because they played that !
The other time was when Brix was in the band , I think that was around the time of The Wonderful and Frightening World of The Fall lp !
They were brilliant both times !

Thanks for making this! For every fan it'll be different - for example, Bend Sinister is my favorite Fall record because I really appreciate how it, more than any other Fall record, maintains this consistent mood and feeling - ominous and brooding. Also, just to nitpick, I think you vastly overrate Reformation Post TLC (which I view as one of, if not the worst Fall record) and underappreciate Light User Syndrome (CHISELER!)
    Cheers!

Find it nearly impossible to rank Fall albums from best to worst because there are so many diamonds on every release. But, for what it's worth my top ten albums (in no particular order) are.......
    Live At The Witch Trials
    Grotesque (After The Gramme)
    Fall Heads Roll
    Bend Sinister
    Dragnet
    Your Future Our Clutter
    This Nation's Saving Grace
    Perverted By Language
    Imperial Wax Solvent
    The Unutterable
Bonus point for 'Slates' (Best EP of all time)
But if I could construct the best Fall album that never was it would consist of every A and B-Side from 1978-1983. For me these recordings WERE the absolute essence of The (Mighty) Fall

Interesting and well done. Though I disagree with a lot, I totally understand the sophistry behind the choices. Clearly a big fan. The beauty of The Fall, everyone's got their favorite and least favorite. I also think it largely depends on when you entered the fold. I was seventeen when I bought my first Fall record, Extricate, so that will always rate higher on my list than most.

Interesting ranking. The Fall suffered from some terrible production especially in the later years, as highlighted in this listing. Not always, Your future our clutter was pretty good. Overall I think I'm with you mostly, great to see Slates up there. That was fun thanks.

Sometimes I feel lost in music, so many genres, mark e made them all! Old Gang is an outstanding psych killer in my opinion, not just ok, basically it is all about real RockandRoll even when it’s more electronically you‘ve like 60‘s psych vibes in it! ❤
