There is no corner in NFL history who could make that play Deion made at 32:14 He gives a 4.3 guy a step to bait the QB and reels him back in to make an over the shoulder pick. Thats HOF ability right there.
The only NFL game I ever went to. I had a Cowboys pull-over on and despite being in the 3rd grade, my mom and I had to be escorted to our seats by security. The last year it was fun being a cowboys fan
This was ironically just like the 1992 game in LA. The Raiders, while only 3-4 that year, had won three straight, including dismantling the Bills and had all this good feeling on a dysfunctional team. But just like '92, the Cowboys seemed to assert or in this case, reassert their dominance while sending the Raiders off in to the abyss. They never recovered from this game psychologically. Which I don't understand because the Cowboys were a great team and losing to them shouldn't have spiraled them the way it did. Unless, you're a dysfunctional group on the verge of teetering to begin with.
Hoss was hurt and was pretty much at the end of the road that year … Mike White was disciplined enough to help the Raiders over this possible SB preview and still Week 17 against the Broncos still couldn’t win to make the playoffs as a wildcard. The 90s Raiders were very enigmatic at best.
@@JohnnyJackson746 And yet, Dallas players often said, the Raiders roster, player for player, was as talented, if not MORE talented than theirs. Their words, not mine. But the Raiders of the 90's were a picture of dysfunction and chaos until Gruden was hired and started righting the ship in 1998.
It's a crime but no he isn't. The greatest tribute I can think of for Novacek is that the triplets never won a Super Bowl without him as the starting tight end.
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 both him and Alvin Harper were the death blow to a lot of teams. So many times watching a 10 yard run from 22, a 14 yard catch from 88, and a 35 yard bomb to 80 for a score or a slant to 84 for a score. So much depth.
Amazing how these two teams never met in a Super Bowl in the 70s & early 80s. And thanks for the upload. I’m downloading as many Summerall/Madden games as I can.
How ironic when John Madden said that was good to see the Raiders back in Oakland where they belong only for the Raiders to leave Oakland again in 2020, 25 years later! Smh
I know this one has to hurt the Oakland Raiders fans who lost the team again after the 2019 season. This was Madden's first time back for a Raiders game in Oakland since the team moved to LA after the 1981 season. Back when the Cowboys were actually a dominant force in the league on their way to their last SB title. If the Coliseum looks a little different that's because it's the way it used to look before the renovations started after this season where it was closed in all the way in time for the 1996 season.
Interesting Madden comments: “Artificial turf has no place in this game “ and, referring to Deion Sanders, “He’s as fast as he wants to be, which is faster than anyone else in this league “. Beautiful.
Was at this one. Always fun to see your team's season be helped off the field just before halftime. It's really OK to run out the clock in the final 30 seconds of a half.
I remember this game because the Raiders thought that their new star WR Rocket Ismail was going to be able to beat Deion . That did not work out to well LOL
Even listening in 2023, I can still tell Madden and Summerall were the best ever. On a side note, the stigmatism of "not wanting to make a tackle" or "not wanting to make a play cuz he didn't want to get hurt" attached to Deion's name shows up at 17:56 and 23:17. There's probably more, but I am going to stop watching this video at that missed FG. I gtg. Plus, I don't want to sit and nit pick on Deion. He was amazing. He is the top 3 best defensive player to ever play. (Lawrence Taylor, Deion, Aaron Donald, maybe Ray Lewis? Am I missing someone else?) So it feels a bit blasphemous to criticize him. It just that those 2 plays came blaring out at me and I thought I would bring it up. LOL
Aaron Donald Top 3 Defensive players of all time??? Maybe top 50. Too many great defensive players over the years. Deion is definitely top 3 corners ever.
