To be fair to Barret: it takes more stamina and energy to go up hill and climb than it does to walk a straight road.
he's okay with walking as long as it's in a straight line and not upwards
stairs are hard, dont believe me ? walk 2 blocks 5 times, now go up 3 stairs floors 5 time, tell me wich one was harder.
Barret is fine with a straight road. Going against gravity is not his strong suit due to his huge firearm.

@@Xgil2Play Nobody getting pre-release codes/access gives a hoot about the built in stream/record/community features, as far as I've ever seen. I am open to being wrong if you know of a big name streamer type who works to the contrary.

I love how close they are in the Remake with Tifa teaching Aerith how to hitch hike and Cloud reassuring Barret while telling him make sure he gets his rest. Aerith asking Barret which full day definition he meant.

A paradox. Also, Stampy was a different breed in the 1st part's ending where Zack survived. So that's a different timeline itself. The question is what happened to Aerith. Is she on the way to Kalm? Or something happened to that timeline's Aerith? Only time can tell, no pun intended.
I absolutely love the way the remake sells these guys as becoming a group of actual friends. Even Cloud, ever the poser, is acting all aloof and distant, but he can't help but smile.
Its even different from the original. In the original cloud was distant before he fall into the lifestream. Here he talk more

@@Carlisho he was a lot better by the time they reached Kalm though. Remember he was the one who told the whole Nibelheim story to the team. And was already cracking jokes by the time they got to Junon. He really had lightened up a lot more than people remember.
I loved Red XIII's part in this ending. His words were so touching.

1:24 Cloud actually smirked for that moment. It’s scenes like this I truly admire.
Square did really well with character development for Cloud and Barret and their relationship over the Part I and you can see it here. Cloud 's smile at the group at 1:28 was priceless. They really care for one another now despite saying simple words. I love it! And 'Ahead On Our Way' is easily my favourite tune in this game.
I know they nailed the character realtionships. I can't wait to see the bromance between Barret, Red and Cid. I just hope they don't cut anything out, only keep adding to it.

Cloud smiles are so good that it has a song dedicated to it
Yeah, the remake's strongest point in my opinion is how much they develop the characters from the original. Just take Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge. In the original, they're literally just another NPCs, but here they have distinct personalities and everything. Losing them hits harder too...
Even in combat as the game goes on. Cloud and Barret antagonize each other less then start complimenting each other. By the end, they will sometimes comment on what a good team they make.
This is basically like a trailer for part two I am so hype
not really a trailer its more of a lead into part 2. I suspect part 2 to pick up right after this

I love how Barret goes from optimistic about the journey at the beginning, to worn out on the side of the road, to jumping in front of a truck instead of risking them passing by the two ladies signaling him, to yelling at the driver of said truck, to singing to himself when no one around him responds to him, to being super optimistic when Kalm is in sight. Very relatable.
How did they make *every single* party member incredibly well written and likable!?

It's not exactly clear yet, but it seems that somehow, by killing the Arbiters of Fate at the end of Remake, the timeline has been altered so that Zack is now alive. Like I said though, it's not entirely clear how this works and will probably get answered in the next game.

As a Dirge of Cerberus fan, Intermission was such a cool expansion to the story for me personally, and as a Crisis Core fan this finale hit even harder.

What I love about this scene is how the two girls are spending a bit of effort to engage with Barret, while Cloud is at the back. It's what I love about this Remake, the interactions and friendships are so realistic. Cloud is the main character and isn't always at the centre of conversation, which makes this so realistic.
I just LOVE Tifa and Aerith's relationship dynamic!
I'm glad the writers remembered they were very close in canon, rather than constantly fighting and competing over Cloud like smoothbrain shippers kept asserting for decades.
@@Thagesthoughts Yeah. When Aerith died in the OG, it hit Tifa hard, not just Cloud. I kinda dread seeing that scene with all the developments their friendship is getting in Remake.
@@lmahu6627 You know whose reactions really surprised me? Cid's and Yuffie's. Cid gets a thousand-yard stare, maybe because Aerith looks just similar enough to Shera? Yuffie tries to put on a brave face, then collapses crying in Cloud's arms before running off.

I love the dynamic between them all already, it feels really genuine. Even Barret taking to a leadership role for now at least feels very natural since he's more outspoken. I'm really interested in seeing more of this
So one of the things they are building on is Avalance and Wutai. I think they are setting Barret up to eventually become the leader of Avanlance.
@@A203D i think its more along the lines on the original on how at the start of the journey it was Barret being the leader, but then later as he opens up to everyone and things slowly get more hectic, Cloud takes over.
And as a plus for everyone who played the og, Tifa taking over briefly before leaving to take care of Cloud, and then Cid trying his best to be a fill in leader but cant do it aswell as Tifa and Cloud, and so with that he was happy/relieved to relinquish the role back to Cloud again when he comes back into the fold.
But who knows things are changing, only the later parts can tell.

@@imsi107 In Og, Cloud was always the leader except for the first 2 bombing missions which was the only time in the game that Barrett was leader. When they were about to go in open world, near the midgar gate, there is a dialogue where Barrett says he will be the leader, but Aerith says it has to be Cloud. From then onwards, they follow Cloud. I don't think this is gonna change.....unless Zack comes, interferes and fck up the story.
I like how humanly they move… if that makes sense?? They move so… normally like how we as actual human begins would with the little runs, and side foot steps, the loose swinging of the arms and finger movements it’s so lively! I love this! Especially the real-like facial expressions

My take on this is that Zack was transported to FF7 Remake's present-day timeline and that the reason why there're a lot of refugees inside the church is that they took shelter there during the final battle of FF7.
This could imply two things:
1- We will be able to play as Zack looking for Aerith
2 - Zack will be an enemy on Shinra's side looking for Aerith and will later on be an ally
Nope on Shinra's side since it was Shinra who tried to kill him.
It's more like the people are in the church because they're refugee from the plate collapse.
Or that Zack could be not the REAL Zack that has died. Probably part pf Jenova cells...
@@nowaylater6950 No, it's the real Zack. He's part of a different timeline though; I think that was made clear when the snack bag blew past the camera and purposefully slowed down to show us that the Stamp of his timeline is a completely different breed from the Stamp of the main timeline.
I really don’t know where the story is heading at this point, it is clear that the story line will be different (good or bad we shall see) but happened to the cloud zack saved then?? Obviously he’s still alive, what’s his role now?? Kinda funny seeing two clouds 😂
Bump in road. Tifa grabs farmer's arm to catch her balance. She gives a genuine apology. Farmer is pleased by the accidental attention but quickly gathers his wits. Barret still notices and makes a very concerned/protective face.
I love that no one did anything wrong, and we got a glimpse of a day in the life.

This new ending lines up with my prediction for the next game: That it will start with a flash back to Cloud "being in SOLDIER" and Sephiroth destroying Nibelheim. We won't see the main party until the end of the flash back where it will be revealed that the whole thing was a story being told by Cloud to the others at the hotel in Kalm. The opening titles will be over a shot of the truck that Cloud and Sephiroth are in driving through the rain.
only difference I see here is that Aeris knows that his story's bullshit, and Tifa will probably call him out on the story not making sense.

(Mine is a prediction, not a theory) At most, she knew a few things from the future because of contact with the Whispers. Just like Cloud saw the future a couple of times. This was the best surprise. The music and knowing what comes next left me with goosebumps. They have done the characters so much better than advent children did it’s incredible. Barret will surely have quite the ark and red XIII when they confront their pasts in the next game. And then Zach’s presence is just such a mystery. Would definitely like to see him reunite with Aerith and Cloud even if it’s for a bitter sweet moment.
When Barret says to take a big breath of fresh air, I love how Aerith lifts her arms up to take a deep breath. She's so excited to be out of the city and breathing nice non-polluted air!

@@johnlawful2272 as much as I would’ve liked to have had the original VA from CC I agree it was a directional choice that made him sound bad and trying so hard to be “cool”. His delivery for the CC lines sounded real forced but in the final scene in remake and here he sounds much better and natural. I’m more excited to see where the VA can take it now

Man I loved how close I felt with each of these characters with the remake. I never played the original, but I knew of a few key points. I definitely can't wait to keep adventuring with them as the story continues.
I wish Red had a line or two, his voice actor is really hypnotizing to listen to
@TroubadorPoet That kind of fits with his character. Like Cloud, he's silent and stoic and only tends to speak when necessary. Makes sense for him and Barret to be a comic duo, since they have opposite personalities!

I don't mind it being a minor subplot or a sidequest, but with all the new stuff they're adding (especially with Zack) I do worry that the core story may end up being diluted. Which is something Square is known for, in some of its games!
@@jamesgravil9162 Red 13 was only silent and stoic for the beginning of FF7. It wasn't until his visit to the Cosmo Canyon he now has more of a heroic-justice-seeking personality, Also because Vincent now takes that stoic and silent talk when it's necessary approach.

They are holding true to Red's personality though. If you keep him in your party in the OG he talks VERY rarely. He is a quiet introverted personality that doesn't open up till after the red canyon section.

@P I R A T A Its explained at the end of FF7Remake. Basically FF7 Original (& FFAC), FF7 Remake, and FF7 where Zack survives are different universes.
There was arbiters of fate to ensure each universe follow the same event (basically like TVA in Loki series).
At the end of FF7 Remake, the arbiters of fate is defeated. So now FF7 Original (& FFAC), FF7 Remake, and FF7 where Zack survives.. each of the universes dont need to follow the same event anymore, different things might happen. So I think there will be 3 universe now: one where Aerith dies (FF7 Original), one where Aerith lives and be with Cloud (FF7 Remake Main), one where Aerith & Zack are together with Cloud having different personality because Zack survives (FF7 Remake Alternate universe)

Like family.. and what really gets me is the horror that yuffie went through, and how this group we are seeing now are literally the people who she needs in her life. No, new timeline!! Once you defeat the arbiter of fate it undoes all the whispers doing. The whispers had a part in getting Zack killed. The story from 1997 never happened as it was only a vision that Aerith was seeing. Now you’re actually playing the real thing knowing what’s supposed to happen and could be subject to change.
I'm wondering if we are going to see a Golden Sun style of storytelling, Zack has his own party that we play with, and eventually, they'll meet with Cloud's Party towards the end for a finale.
That’s exactly what I thought off after beating it. Like what if Zack fights Sonon, & free him from Nero. After that, I can definitely see Sonon joining Zack as a party member. And maybe Biggs as well since he’s alive. I dunno, but I would be very interested to see a game where Cloud & Zack have their own party of people to fight with.

I am just happy to get out of midgar finally. The adventure now really begins. I can't wait for Part 2. There is going to be so much more diversity in the world, then part 1 had. So many unique locations to explore and the feeling of Freedom and traveling around the wide expanse of the world. OMG I am so hyped for this game.

I would probably tone down the expectations on a "wide expanse" on traveling unless you want two actual days worth of walking in a straight line between distant cities and the rest of the game to be split across thirty parts. Realistically they will probably have a fast travel set up between cities/dungeons or they will need to drastically cut the world size. It's that or we finally beat the game in Part 32 released in 2068.
