Far as I know in the remake continuity: Weiss and Nero are pretty active, Genesis is still crystalized sleeping at this point, Processing what he learned from Zack's talk- no-Jutsu so that he can become a better person such as being the protector of the planet like how crisis core complete guide explained his return.

@@accelerator8558 Kadaj is a manifestation of Sephiroth, He never exist until Sephiroth was actually defeated at end of FF7 to where he traveled to the lifestream to then respawn as remnants.
Rest of Deepground is doing Deepground business as usual. it'll be interesting to see how that's played out in Remake Part 2.

Weiss is on par with sephiroth? I always wanted to know that.
Base sephiroth he can definitely hold his own, now Safer Sephiroth (one winged) nope.
But Omega Weiss is another story. one of the strongest threats, second to Jenova herself or even possibly on par. Considering the weapons were designed to hold their own against Jenova. so him having the power of one of the weapons gives him power comparable to Jenova. Surpassing that of the half breeds, Sephiroth and Genisis.
@@isrealdiaz3899 Lol you can't be serious. Sephiroth is the strongest being on FFVII confirmed by SE. Sephiroth is a multiversal reality warper that eats fate/time gods for breakfast and can pull mini supernovas from his thoughs. He is able to transcend dimensions and isn't effected by time and space which is why he appears in the singularity/edge of creation. He's above beings who are heavily implied to be THE origin of everything in the series’s universe if not the entire multiverse at the very least. Now that he has absorbed the whispers and effectively has control over fate, not only does it speak on the future events of the series, but on his capabilities throughout it.

This is just my take on it..I think it's a nod to dirge of Cerberus game and it's in there more like..acknowledging what has happened in the original timeline...if that makes sense LOL..since remake takes place in the altered timeline.

I love how rather than face Weiss himself, or even an actual hologram of Weiss, what we actually fight is a hologram of Weiss which Hojo is in control of by placing his consciousness within the server as a test run for when he places his consciousness in the real Weiss. Amazing way to both reference and foreshadow Dirge of Cerberus.
If Weiss had fused with the Protomateria while he was in Omega, instead of Vincent.
I can't even imagine the limitless of power Omega Weiss could have achieved...

Definitely. Makes you think about just how powerful Vincent is on his own, considering it took three people to fight a virtual version of Weiss whereas Vincent fought the real one on his own. Though I imagine with the way things are going in Remake, we haven't see Weiss in his full potential yet, even if we played Dirge.

Dire cerberus events happen after 7 so chances are the Weiss in remake is just a prototype.
Yoooo did they include Hojo's old VA (Paul Eiding's) Laughter at the end? That's a cool callback to DoC.
Either the new VA for Hojo managed to get that same voice or the devs slipped the old voice in for a special reference. Either way, it's super cool.
Weiss's hair looks like that probably because he'd been holding a plasma ball for way too long.

Surprisingly, he’s easy enough if you been leveling up your materias before the ps5 release. I wouldn’t lie to you that I’ve had difficulty defeating him at the start but once you know the pattern to his attacks by using Tifa, the fight will become a breeze. Next thing you know you’ll notice that the important thing is finishing him fast at 4 minutes or less

This actually does raise a good point tbf. The weiss we fight in doc(pre core) was just hojo clumsily using his body. We never actually fight him in his prime and even if we do see him in action, its only in a cutscene and he was holding his ground against chaos vincent before he starts the fight with omegas help. Makes you wonder how op he actually is compared to cloud and co normally
The Chaos that we saw Vincent in DoC was maybe only 15% of what Chaos is power actually is. The same goes for Omega.
I feel like Weiss is a whole different beast entirely when you actually fight him for real

That’s what I was sayin. The fact that Weiss stomped Vincent the first round (before he drew forth Chaos’ full power) was super impressive cuz it was Hojo controlling his body for the first time, and also Weiss had literally just woken up from a coma.

@@edsonwinkler8795 Genesis' genes is what gives Weiss the power, and you haven't seen Genesis fighting in his peak power, yet. So don't assume that Weiss is more powerful than Genesis.
@@BuffaloBorgine Genesis genes or not, Yada yada whatever, Normal Genesis isn't even that challenging for me to fight back when I played crisis core. I have more trouble with Granglans (Egg monsters) than I ever had with Genesis, He was just a cakewalk pretty easily.

Is it just me, or does this seem to be suggesting that Weiss also has his memories from the future like Aerith and Sephiroth? Even before Intergrade was announced, I've had a theory that FF7R was actually a stealth sequel to Dirge of Cerberus, and that Genesis and Weiss were somehow involved with whatever future event that resulted in Sephiroth and Aerith's memories/spirits back in time through the life stream and joined their past selves, resulting in the timeline deviation.
Now I'm thinking that Genesis and Weiss(along with digital Hojo) may have done the same thing. With 4 time travelers, it would certainly explain the differences that seemed to occur without Aerith or Sephiroth's interventions, such as the result of Zack's would-be last stand, or the different versions of Stamp. If Genesis went back further, to early Crisis Core for example, then the changes he made would have already been piling up with the butterfly effect. The whispers being at Zack's fight would suggest that he was already going to survive because of a change, and they were trying to correct it.
I love time travel stories and mysteries, can't wait to find out what's really going on.

@@tona4x7 That was in DoC, which is still not proof against the possibility that he had done it before to test if it was possible to begin with both in that continuity and this one.
The scene when you beat him practically gives it away that Hojo is already using Weiss as a vessel and seeing how far it can go.
Why the sepia tone? Don't know, but it's not the filter they've been using for the visions of the future some character's been having in the base game.
I honestly think that your theory is way overcomplicating what I feel might be quite a simple case of history being stuck on a loop or repeating cycle, meaning that all has happened before and beating the whispers has undone that loop.
No time travelers, only Aerith and Sephiroth with the knowledge of what transpired in previous lives.
@@goroOI23 they use the sepia tone for flashbacks, memories. Its a common and consistent narrative device. The future visions you refer to were seen by Cloud and others who do not have them as memories themselves, but were shown by Sephiroth and the Whispers. You say i overcomplicate it, yet I'm going off of whats been shown plain as day while you are reaching with multiple assumptions lol

And I understand where you're coming from, But since Zetsu did interfere, Madara still lost. In 80 + years Madara was just failing at all his "goals" acting like he was 10 steps ahead even though he was always failing. So even though he was winning the war by himself until the end, overall he still lost.

For everyone who’s struggling defeating Weiss, I know it’s not much but I hope It will do it. (Note that You MUST of course have a full level Materias at least an 80% = 4 stars to make your fight easier)
There’s a pattern to his attacks when you pay a little close attention to it, Using Tifa with parry materia the moment he use “Crosswise Cleave” on you, (while shield using L1) try dodging to the direction he’s heading towards it which is aiming on you, that way He’ll be pressured that’s when you attack. And when he uses “Stab” YOU can go around it, I noticed while playing Tifa (not sure if you can do it with Cloud) she pounces on top of Weiss when I pressed ⭕️ on the exact time he pushed me.
Cloud/Tifa/Aerith
-First Phase, preferably only use Tifa, have Focused Strike on speed dial (R1+O I think). With decent timing, they can pretty much dodge all of his First phase attacks and leave him in a pressured state. Max out Unbridled Strength. You can Dodge AT Weiss when he uses stab, you’ll hop over him. Same applies to Cloud. Focus on building ATB and switch VERY frequently, as a 1v1 with Weiss is less than a good idea long term, to say the least. After maybe 7 Focused strikes at Weiss, combined with a few attacks from cloud, he’ll be staggered. MAX OUT DAMAGE BONUS. Cannot stress enough. ATB ward, arcane Ward, then pelt him with Ray of Judgement, x2 True Strike, Rise and Fall, Omnistrike, and Infinity End. That’ll knock his health down 1/3rd at least.
This is now my favourite secret boss battle. Difficulty mitigated through tactical coordination and mastery of Tifa’s mobility, beautiful music to keep you going even if you fail, great reward when defeated.
Its not really a serect boss battle because the game tells you its there and its super easy to find.

Wow this is fucking crazy! I was going down memory lane just googling old games when I thought of Weiss, that brought me here and im seeing the FF7 remake for the first time. This ain't no remake! Look at that combat system, the slow mo commands jeesus that is perfect.

Atleast we got to know Weiss's personality and how he actually fights unlike the little we've seen in dirge of Cerberus where he was basically controlled by Hojo for the most part and went straight to being a final boss. This Guy would absolutely cheese Genesis and go toe-to-toe with Sephiroth both in a straight-up-fight, And this isn't even his strongest we've seen.
Havent seen weis since 2006 or was it 2007? Anyway the battle theme for this fight is tense.
Umm, he get's possessed at the end... basically defeating him in this vr mission allowed hojo to take control of him.
@@sarthakarora3212 He doesn't get possessed, I don't think. The scenes showing him and Hojo are just flashes to Dirge of Cerberus in the original timeline. He's shirtless like in Dirge when he's laughing with Hojo. There's another scene from Dirge shown right before the fight that's the same thing, brown/orange filter, shirtless and all.

Exactly! Think Summoned Beast Battle and the music towards the end of 13…like after the whole gran pulse parts.
It's a remaster of the Weiss battle theme, which was composed by Masashi Hamauzu, who composed the score for Final Fantasy XIII, did some score work in FFX, and has tracks that are referenced in FFXIV. You're not far off.

@@zjuraeventide8949 Hamauzu is a great composer. A lot of fans immediately think of Uematsu when they think Final Fantasy, and rightly so, but Hamauzu has been a godsend for the latter installments in the series, specifically when sci-fi themes were more in play than the traditional fantasy themes.
Ironically, his best (in my opinion) were from the less talked-about "SaGa Frontier II" from the PS1 era. That's another good game you should try if you have not yet played it.

Angeal is ...pretty much gone. Peaceful in the lifestream though I doubt he might not be for long, cause when Cloud rusts the Sword, he`ll probably wanna kill him lol while Genesis has a slim chance to make an appearance, afterall nothing shall forestall his return.

Weiss is even more gorgeous then in Dirge of Cerberus! 😍 He was one of my favorite characters and bosses. He looks amazing! And nicely done too!

I am kind of hoping that we get a super boss fight where we fight Weiss and Nero together and then a fusion of the two.
Overall I am enjoying the direction that the FF7 remake is going by bringing characters and plot elements from Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core into the main story. With Zack now officially in the picture I can see the events of the War in Wutai and the events leading to Sephiroth's birth having a greater impact on the story.
I still think Aerith and Zack will still die but that will not be the end of their story. I think that in a DLC like this one we will see Zack and Aerirh fighting together within the Lifestream to stop Sephiroth from blocking Holy whilst Cloud and Crew defeat Sephiroth in the main game.
Yeah except fighting sephiroth will be boring now since they handled his character so badly in the remake by randomly showing him all the time, plus he has already been fought. All mystique or awe of power is gone.
That would be epic. Makes me think of The Matrix with Neo's team and the Niobe team
@@geostar1610 You... you do know that this is Advent Children Sephiroth traveling through time and that he was using some abilities in his base form that he was only able to use in his Safer form in the first game... like Shadow Flare, right? If anything, people should be worrying a lot more as to what potential power Sephiroth has since he seems to be at least 3 times stronger than before.

I think it was something about how sephiroth shouldn't have the one winged angel theme in just his human form. It didn't fit advent children sephiroth either. I take nothing after the original ff7 as canon anyway as anything extra was to just make some money. I find the whole plot ghosts and time travel crap just goofy and can't take it seriously for a moment.
There is absolutely no reason to bring sephiroth back, he was completely boring in advent children compared to his original ff7 appearance - beating him in two crazyass forms then utterly destroying sephiroths human form, then we're supposed to get excited about cloud fighting human sephiroth again in advent children? the story was complete in the original ff7, there was no end credits sequence teasing anything, no unresolved plot points - all FF7 extras are for greed
@@lukasruston8618 It's the dominant theory, but this being AC Sephiroth is not hard confirmed. There's nothing fact-of-matter about that claim yet, since nothing in VII's established universe has been shown to manipulate time to that degree. But rather these are just the modern _versions_ of the characters, so Sephiroth is characterized the same way he is in Compilation and Dissidia content. Because that's just where his character is at nowadays. The timeline is altered moving forward, but I don't believe that hinges on the backward.

Cloud and gang fighting him now would be death at this point of game, they can't even handle Sephiroth.
Honestly Weiss probably even claps many of FF Protagonists with exception of Final form Zidane, Rinoa,Terra,Lightning,Noctis and maybe Warrior of Light.

Honestly not sure, what happens in the end of remake..seems to be the pushing of the experiences Cloud and the others built up the entire playthrough of the OG ff7. Cloud is performing advent children level feats after almost collapsing to falling rocks in a sewer, cutting through building sized objects and using omnislash and his body acts just like he did at the end of Northern Cave. I feel fighting Sephiroth this early and getting some of the flashes of memories has made them infact stronger than they were in the original game. That said, it'll be inconsistent. In AC Vincent holds his own against the 3 sephiroth Yaz Kadaj Yazoo but then struggles hard against every Tsviet which are top tier SOLDIERs but obviously under at least Sephiroth and Genesis. Cloud fights Rosso the Crimson to a standstill but its left up in the air.. if Weiss doesn't hold back unlike Seph I would say Cloud stands no chance anyway, but i'd also argue this is a different Cloud and 3 on 1 is different than 1 on 1.

This guy came out before Madara, Dirge of Cerberus came out in 2006, Madara debuted in Shippuden manga at 2009,(Unless you count his original first appearance as a statue at the great valley where Naruto and Sasuke fought at in a chapter that was released in 2004 then technically you're right as it's vice versa) But I get what you mean as this indeed coincidental:
-Very masculine deep-sounding voice
-Extremely powerful villains with Big spikey hairdo who's bangs covers left eye
-Similar personalities, Such as both enjoys partaking in the thrill of the battle and the hunt of prey
-Gets huge power-up boosts like piloting gigantic avatars
I wouldn't be surprised if Weiss gets a Madara Uchiha makeover mod when FF7 Remake hits PC.

Actually madaras first appearance by name was in 2007 chapter 370. Weiss had been in development since around the end of kh1. Nomura saved the hair style for ff7 and didnt give it to the organization 13 members.
But in the original Naruto, during the fight Naruto vs Sasuke, you can see Madara and Hashirama's statue.Those statues were introduced in the manga, 2004

You have to beat the Yuffie episode first, then you will get a notice saying he's available in Cloud's story.

This boss was a freaking nightmare
The way I beat Weiss was wild. I used Tifa parry to stagger him in phase 1, then used Blizzaga + Arcane Ward to stagger him in phase 2, then used Tifa parry again in phase 3. I didn't get quite enough damage to kill him after three staggers, so he wiped my party with Immaculate End, but I used Carbuncle for a full revive and heal right before. At this point I was scrambling to get his health down faster than he could heal it. He got another Immaculate End on me, and Tifa's Reprieve allowed me to survive and revive Cloud and Aerith, then stagger him again using Tifa parry. He went into his gun phase again, and on his last sliver of health, I started running out of Blizzagas. Since Weiss is only vulnerable to magic in his gun phase, I tried to end it with Aerith, but she quickly got knocked out, and Cloud and Tifa did not have enough mana to revive her. I was quickly running out of options, and he was getting dangerously close to using Immaculate End again, which I would not survive this time, so I had to end it right now. I used Cloud's limit, but forgot that Weiss is immune to physical damage in his gun phase. I stayed alive just long enough for Cloud to cast one last Blizzard with his remaining mana, and it just barely killed him.
I find it interesting Nomura seems to have referenced Kojiro Sasaki for Sephiroth and Musashi Miyamoto for Weiss. It’s too bad we’ll never see them fight.
