There are a lot of guides out there for Weiss, showing you that he can be killed in 150 seconds with all sorts of mastered materia and perfect ability usage. I'm here to show you that you can kill him like a normal human being without all that. You still need to be on point with your dodging and timing of abilities, but you don't need to beat him in 2 minutes flat in order to be successful. The biggest thing you'll need to worry about is having 3 Ice materia mastered for Blizzaga, and enough MP to cast it until Weiss gets staggered in Phase 2. A parry materia is also highly recommended, but not totally necessary. I've seen people do this boss with Cloud's regular dodging.

Thanks mate! Really helpful guide. Summary for others:
1. The aim is to stagger him.
2. Learn to Parry Dodge with Tifa on unblockable hits, success dodge pressures him, then build up the Stagger bar with Focused Strike.
3. In "gun" phase, cast Acane Ward, build up ATB and cast Blizzarga inside the Acane Ward. Make sure to switch chars.
4. Repeat 2 in "double sabre" phase.

Watched three strategy guide for Weiss, this is the one that gave me the edge. You gave so much more info than anyone else. Especially the tip about immaculates end. Everyone kept saying stop him from using it but had no idea it was a timed thing. As soon as I knew that I was able to stop it. Big help

The Gotterdammerung does work (please read, hehe), normally it does two things, one being that the character begins the fight with the limit break gauge already filled, but there is another perk that DOES work and its perfect for this fight, it helps you build the limit break extremely fast. I recommend to use it on Cloud, he should have the Limit Break ready to use when you stagger Weiss, then just build up the stagger damage bonus with Tifa (2 or 3 True Strikes) and then blow that dude up with an Omnislash

Great strategy, worked well for me. Something I’ve notice a lot of people are not realizing is that the Götterdämmerung, while not starting you at full limit, will greatly speed up your limit growth. I kept it on Tifa, had a limit ready to go before the first stagger, but saved it for the second stagger when everyone was out of ATB and then melted him.

It is a common misconception that the second spell cast from an Arcane Ward does not consume MP. In fact, the second spell will have half the attack power and stagger rate of the original spell at 25% of the MP cost. So, if a spell that costs 12 MP is cast from an Arcane Ward, it will be cast twice for a total cost of 15 MP and will do 150% of the damage of a single spell. The good news is that it does not consume ATB. You can easily verify this by watching the MP level after casting a spell from an Arcane Ward.
You sir are a legend. Followed this to a T and after some tries I got him down. Thank you so much. This was the last trophy I needed to 100% the game.
Just got a PS5 about a month back. Played (and loved) the DLC and it made me want to replay the whole game to get ready for Rebirth. I watched a few guides for this fight and gotta say that this was the easiest one to follow. It offers plenty of room for error. I messed around a bit with the Materia set-ups and I also threw the Gotterdammerung on Cloud because it does start you off with 50% of your limit filled. I actually was able to finish him off by phase 2 thanks to this and it took me about 6 attempts to get the fight down. Once you get used to dodging his phase 1 attacks, you can pretty easily chew through phase 2 with blizzard. Great guide :)

Even though someone died during phase 2 + Weiss restored back to 50% in phase 3,
the full 240% stagger + infinity end + dolphin flurry in phase 3 got me the win

Was prepared to cry tonight knowing I can't "platinum" intermission. But this strategy worked more than perfectly for me. I made so many mistakes as I just did one go at it following this video along with me. I resorted to fira with tifa as MP ran low. I didn't use unbridled strength or enough haste and barriers as we were in phase 1. I didn't dodge anywhere near as well as you. And yet with an arcane ward we absolutely pummeled him with spells and didn't give him a chance to breathe!!! This strategy saved my enjoyment experience of FF7 remake so thank you so much. Now I can finally play Rebirth. Been in plastic wrap for over a month and a half!!

Great guide. Gotterdammerung definitely helped knock his health down when Cloud had it. If you can stagger him quickly and have Cloud use it after 240%, by the end of the first stagger you'll have him under 1/2 health. He never even his phase 3 with it.

Thanks for the video! Other guides had multiple, maxed out material (2xLuck, ATB Stagger etc) but following this helped a regular human, like myself, beat Weiss during phase 2 after the 3rd attempt.

I gave up on this boss fight
Im very annoyed that i won't get that trophy, because FF7 is my favourite game of all time and i LOVE the remake
But i realized its just not worth my time. I tried for over 3 hours streight to beat this boss, but i can't even get over phase one
I have no fun at all trying this fight over and over again. It just frustrates me and makes me angry.
Its a personal problem because i am a person that hates difficulty in games. I am here for the story, the characters, the music and the world. And not to get my ass kicked over and over again.
It took me almost 2 month's to get the platinum trophy for this game. Im just exhausted.
After hours of other strategies this one worked, right after I staggered him the first time just nailed him with blizzaga staggered him and got him with a braver right before it wore off.

I didn’t even know parry slide was a thing when I beat him, I just struggled with I-frames with cloud and used focused thrust to counter lmao, I am a dark souls gamer tho so it came relatively easy.
Also cloud did survive immaculate end with 9999 HP and barrier lmao, but summoning carbuncle as soon as he’s about to cast the move works too, as it’ll revive the entire party

Thanks to you was able to knock this out in the first attempt. putting the gotterdammerung on cloud was also useful as he had a limit break available for the first stun phase. thanks to tifa's limit break during the second stun phase I didn't even need to do the third phase. now if only pride and joy 0.5 was as easy.
His health is actually surprisingly low and you can kill him within 2 staggers easily. First phase, I use Cloud to guard all the time while remaining close to Weiss so you can gauge the distance of the moves much easier. Remaining guard at all time until the last moment when you read the red text and realise what direction you need to dodge to. You can screw up a ton without much consequences if you just have Tifa and Aerith heal and barrier Cloud while you are practicing the dodge. Use focus thurst or hit a few times with operator mode hits whenever he is pressured. On the first stagger, use your limit break. I had Cloud's even without the Gottermarang because he was taking so much damage. I didn't even have Tifa with 3rd chi stage and wasn't doing ATB stagger, ATB, skill charging materias and she could still pull out some high % from true strike alone. 1st stagger is done and Weiss is down to about half health. He changes to phase 2 which is susceptible to magic only so it is Aerith time. I had her equipping 2 magic ups and just put out a Arcane ward closer to Weiss. Whenever anyone is casting magic , they should start casting in this circle. I had all 3 use -ga level magic until all ATBs are gone then anyone who doesn't have ATB just attack normally. This phase he is slow and doesn't interrupt you that much. His basic attacks can be countered by Cloud Punisher mode easily. Nuke him, he will use special move to reduce stagger gauge but it doesn't matter as we are building it faster than he could reduce it. Once he is staggered the second time, go to town with him. Use any limit if you have it, maximum % from Tifa as usual obviously. Nuke with all mana for Aerith, Cloud spam Braver. He will die in the second stagger and not having a chance to go into the 3rd phase.
Thanks God I found your video! I was furious with this Boss LOL. All the videos I'd watched was grind as hell and mostly nonsense. This one is perfect, in 20 tries I was capable to figure out his moves and dogde. For anyone that are dying on the 3rd phase while he uses his finish move, I used the Twin Stinger, since it lets Cloud with 1 HP and I could be able to Arise Tifa and then Dogde some time and Arise the whole party. Goddamn! This is finally the everyman guide I was looking for (every other guide is someone bombing the boss in 30s) and boy howdy did it work! If you're reading this, it'll still take a lot of practice but it's totally doable!!

Blizzaga on arcane ward during phase 2 staggered him so fast! Managed to defeat him on the first try after your guide. Whereas with the 300% stagger style I kept dying while trying to skip his 2nd phase 😮

I used this method earlier to finally get the trophy and fully complete the DLC before the new game. I played several attempts where immaculate end ended me. The successful attempt I only missed 1…. 1 parry with Tifa during phase 3 (his lightning moving phase) and won. So it was just enough to save time to stagger him into his first phase and finally beat him down. I swear the game only gives you like a few mistakes in the round to get the win.

Just beat him now, when the first stagger was reaching its end and in the middle of cloud’s limit break I realized there wasn’t going to be enough time for ray of judgment to work so I just did the arcane wars and blizzaga early and the second he phase changed the first one hit and I was able to build up enough momentum to stagger him one more time before phase 3, I automatically used tifa’s limit break and he went down to super low health, I had to basically pray because I didn’t have enough time or ATB to use any more skills so I switched to cloud punisher mode and I was able to kill him right before the second stagger ended and I skipped his 3rd phase all together

Thanks for this, just to copy what others were saying, I ended up adding Gotterdammerung to Cloud to get his limit break up for the second stagger. After that, he was at about 10% health so I went ham on him, summoned and ended up getting Tifa's limit break up which look it over the edge.
Thx your strategy really helped I beat him on my 2nd attempt only difference is I used Gotterdammerung on cloud because it still fills the limit gauge during the fight over time. By the time he used rejuvination and I got 2nd stagger both Cloud and Tifa had thier limits. Both limits and Ray of Judgement killed him!!!

Thank you dude! This was the final achievement i needed and using this worked flawlessly after 3 attempts! I actually had two limit breaks built up with cloud and fifa on the second stagger so managed to get it done in 2 phases and completely skipped the 3rd phase 😃

You can have 2X Max HP up materia equipped as they are only 50% and the maximum u can have is 100% so when u say it's a waste it's really not.
Thanks for the help on this one. Weiss didn't get to his last phase, but that was more a combination of luck and patience. I had Ifrit out and my characters were casting -ga spells whenever available during Phase 2. Weiss somehow hit me with that Behemoth Beam move and KOed Tifa, BUT she was Ifrit's summoner. At this point, Weiss HP was so low that it was not visible, and with Tifa KOed, Ifrit moved to his final attack and knocked down Weiss! Luck and patience wins the day, and I haven't even unlocked the previous challenge yet! 😊

Thanks! Got him at the end of second phase when staggered with Tifa and Clouds limit break. I landed a few true strikes with Tifa before using the limit breaks for extra damage. Had the gotterdammerung on cloud and transference module on Tifa.
I never comment, but I beat my head against this fight with no progress, tried a couple other "speed" guides then cleared first attempt with this approach.

Wow this did the trick. I didn't even have to wait until after I did hard mode. Materia was close to max and just barely had level 6 weapons so was able to get reprieve on 2 characters. The double spell damage on round 2 in arcane ward was clutch. Synergy fire in Aerith was clutch too now that it's free mp cost especially. Thanks for the guide! This plus the videos from @Blitz really helped me out with this battle.
As a regular human being, this is exactly the guide I needed lol. And because I am very stubborn and wanted to do this fight without getting all of the manuscripts. Still totally doable without all of them, actually!

And then I read the comments about the Götterdämmerung... well, worked without it and now the game is 100% again!

Great video! The second spells auto-casted inside the arcane ward is NOT free as it still costs MP but not ATB.
You simply use blade burst with cloud to do damage against the physical immune part, and dodge as Tifa in p1. You can dodge with cloud in p1 but its way harder and requires superior timing.

Took me a little over an hour with this strat. My problem was getting to different phases with really no ATB left even with Haste. Then Aerith would die and its over. But i did it! Thanks!
Yeah he's not staggering for me as easy on phase 2 with the gun. No idea why. Tried to use Tifa's limit break to help me from other videos and it's suddenly not working to build up his stagger. This boss is ridiculous.

Tifa 2x Unbridled Strenght. When the enemy is staggered, Tifa needs to hit with an uppercut and True Strike. He didn't even make it to phase 2. There is a video where he is beaten in 23 seconds. Yesterday I beat Top Secrets Boss for Yuffie & Sonon, it was hard. Only 2 characters (1 out of control) materia is not a master and weapons without half of improvements

@@SweetJohnnyCage I had to swap a few of the materias from your list because I didn't have enough, or they weren't maxed out. For example, I gave Firaga to Aerith, and that worked great because it launches Weiss into the Air and adds pressure to him. It also halts him, so it gives me extra hits with Tifa during the first phase. I swapped Tifa's Transference Module to the Gotterdammerung so that she can already have her limit break. That way I used it after doing the two True Strikes to drain his health even longer, while Aerith uses her rays and Cloud is doing his Infinities End move. Then I used Blizzaga as you said with Cloud and Tifa while Aerith used Firaga and heal if needed. Somehow that worked I managed to kill him during the third phase and before he did his one-shot kill.

Thanks for this... but I think I overdid it 😅😅😅. He never was able to get to the third phase. As soon he was staggered with blizzard, I did One true Strike, Judgment Ray, Infinity End, another True Strike and Tifa Limit Break and he died. Thanks dude.

Amazing strategy. I beat him first attempt with this one. I did have more max level materias though. I had way more trouble with top secrets in Huffie's chapter.

Gotterdamerung absolutely works for this, it just starts with a half gauge, that’s the only difference.
Yea that's my mistake. I didn't realize it had a passive effect, since the warning literally says it won't work haha.
Beat it after 3 tries with this strategy but i optimeze it with gottendemerung and useless materia that wouldn't help me with the challenge. The supersecret bosses of Intermission gave me way more trouble.
